Woo! Yankees in first! I'm a New Yorker and a die hard Yankees fan. I have been a Yankees fan my whole life. I am not a bandwagon fan.

My favorite baseball team is the Cleveland Indians. They're doing really good right now and they usually manage to make good comebacks if they're starting to lose. In the last Indians game I watched, someone hit a grand slam and the Indians ended up winning 10-1. What a victory!

I have to be one of the biggest Mets fans out there. I know the Yankees are out there and they are better, but I have always been a Mets fan and I doubt that any amount of losing would make me change my mind.

It all started about ten or so years ago, I was just a little boy in Richmond Hill watching games with my dad, who was also a Mets fan. I don't remember much about what he liked about the team because it was so long ago, but I still remember the fun times that I had watching Mike Piazza hitting home runs, and listening to the voice of Howie Rose.

I was 14 when I went to my first Mets game, it was the summer of 2008 and during summer school, the school decided to pay for all of us to go to the game. It was a memorable game against the Giants, John Maine Vs. Barry Zito. I don't remember much about the stadium because that was just a few months before Shea Stadium closed down, but I do remember that we were sitting near the very top. The Mets won by a score of seven to three thanks to a Fernando Tatis home run that sailed over the left field fence.

Gone were the days where I was forced to watch the game on T.V every single day, on that day I made a promise to myself that I would try to go to as many Mets games as I could, and I did my best to keep that promise. For the next three years, I have gone to one game per season, and then my Baseball watching career began to take off at the start of the 2012 season.

I had gone to four games in 2012, which included two somewhat good games in September. The first September game was on the 9th, I bought a student ticket for ten dollars and was ready to watch the Mets win again.Half way through the game it started to pour, (Later I learned that there was a tornado spotted somewhere in Queens.) The game was delayed for about 45 minutes and everybody who was in attendence was given a free ticket for the game on the 11th. This was also the first time I had gone down to the Bullpen and I was able to watch Familia warm up. That was also the first losing game I had ever went to.

2013 was even better, I had gone to multiple Matt Harvey games, two doubleheaders, and even a twenty inning game. There were many other great things that have happened to me when I was at Mets games, but if it had not been for my dad watching games with me and telling me about baseball, I would have never had a chance to live through these great experiences.

It’s not just because of my own experiences that have caused me to like the Mets, but the history has also helped. I love the history of the Mets, I know virtually all the players since 1962, I know everything that has happened to the team over the years, and I am proud to be a Mets fan.

For instance, my favorite baseball player of all time is Tom Seaver. Of course, I wasn’t alive when he played, but I still know about his stats and about what he has done for the team. My second favorite MLB player is none other than Nolan Ryan. He had not been on the Mets for a long time, but he is still one of the best pitchers in baseball history.

After those two, my favorite historical players would have to consist of Koosman, Gooden, Darling, Wilson, Hernandez, Carter, Franco, and the great Mike Piazza. I had the honor of meeting John Franco, Wilson, Strawberry, and Gooden at the T-Mobile All Star Fan Fest this year, and I was able to meet Piazza at his ceremony at Citi Field On September 29th.

Currently, my favorite player has to be Matt Harvey, there is nobody who is a better fan than I. I had never met the man, but I was able to see him at the All Star Parade as he rolled down 42nd street. I also own hundreds of dollars of his baseball cards to show how much of a fan I am.

I know the team is not performoing well now, and they have not performed well for the last couple of years, but I do have hope that the team can do better in the future with their new call ups such as Zack Wheeler, Rafael Montero, Travis d"Arnaud, and Noah Syndergaard. Not to mention that the team is expected to have a lot more money to spend on top players such as Shin Soo Choo because they no longer have to pay old players such as Santana and Bay.

The Mets are also important to me because of what I want to do for a career. I have made a few posts of my career, I want to go into Sport management and someday I would love to have a front office job with the Mets, and I believe that all of these experiences will help me obtain that goal.

To some, the love of a team is just for fun, but to me, it's much more than that, and from now on, I want to follow the Mets even more.

Sorry for such the long post, but I felt like I needed to let all that out.

Red Sox, they're probably one of the best teams in the history of the game. I won't take your counterargument of "The Yankees won 27 World Series" if you're going to use it. Those don't matter if there's no story behind them. Despite the fact the BoSox couldn't win the World Series until 2004, the fact that they tried hard until it happened and that the fanbase held up is incredible. I might have ended up as a Yankees fan if my babysitter wasn't one, but I guess my family would sway me the other way, since that's how the family loyalty goes.

I am with mr nerd on this, I am a fan of the Red Sox, they are just a really great team and they are one of the best games in history, that is why I picked them before. No matter how much they may lose at times, they ar still a great team regardless.

I don't care if other people don't like them, I think they are a good team with good players, and they have always been our family's favorite team no matter what. Some people like another team in sports when the first team they like loses. Regardless, I stick with my team, even if they lose a lot.

Got to go with the home town team even though they are not doing so hot and Sports Illustrated said the Twins where going to be the worse in the division, Still have to root for them though. The Seasons winding to a close and they have no change at the playoffs and pennant season is here

I have to go with the Mariners despite not making the playoffs since 2001. I really hope they can turn things around soon. The 90+ loss seasons are starting to pile up.

I have always liked the Yankees because of Derek Jeter. He is my role model and I look up to him. But they aren't doing too hot right now, but I still love em!
