I have my Nintendo 64 controls set to left/right/up/down arrows for movement and D=A, S=B. The controls work very well except for one thing: if I try to move diagonally up+left, A and B are non-responsive. For example, I've been playing Banjo Kazooie. When I run up+left, I cannot jump(A) or attack(B). The hotkeys work perfectly fine if I try to move diagonally in any other direction; just up and left at the same time causes the problem. Switching A and B to other keys doesn't help; everything seems to become non-responsive when both the left arrow and up arrow keys are held down together.

I know the simplest solution would be to try switching my movement to other keys, but... does anyone have any *other* suggestions/information as to either: a.) why this is happening, b.) any way to resolve this.

Try not to hold up and left. The N64 games do become a bit screwy at times, but if the problem persists, you can contact the help center or an admin.

I would try just not running in that direction, but sometimes the game (being Banjo Kazooie) requires it. The camera sometimes locks in platform-esque areas and I have to run then jump in that direction. So far I've been able to deal with it, but memory serves that sooner or later it will be a problem. Changing my movement controls may be the only option...
