I've always thinking about making a thread, where people could share their recipes.
I know that this thread would fit more in a "talk about food" forum, but since we don't have one, I placed it here, lol

You can post all your favorite recipes here.
It's not a problem, if you found it on the internet, but there are 2 requirement: 1) you have to be specific about the portions of each ingredient, 2) it would be good, if you could also add a picture of the final product.

Here is a recipe for a greek kind of sweet(I wasn't sure about the portions in enlish metric system, so I searched the recipe on the net):

Name of food: Revani (or ravani)

Ingredients:
For the cake:
•1 cup flour
•3 tsp. baking powder
•1 cup fine Semolina (or Farina)
•1/2 cup unsalted butter
•1 cup sugar
•3 eggs separated (reserve whites)
•1 tsp. vanilla extract
•zest of 1 lemon
•1 cup milk
•pinch of salt

For the syrup:
•1 1/2 cups sugar
•1 1/2 cups water
•2 3-inch strips of orange zest
•1 tsp. lemon juice

Preparation:
For the cake part:
-Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
-Grease bottom and sides a 9 x 13 pan and set aside.
-Mix the flour, semolina and baking powder together in a medium bowl.
-Using a mixer, cream the butter with sugar until light and fluffy. With the mixer running, add egg yolks one by one. Continue mixing until a light yellow color. Add vanilla extract and lemon zest.
-Add the flour mixture 1/3 at a time alternating with the milk.
-Clean the beaters well and beat the egg whites in a separate bowl with a pinch of salt until soft peaks form. Using a spatula, fold the egg whites in to the batter until just blended. Don't mix too much or you will "flatten" your egg whites.
-Pour the batter in to the pan, level with a spatula and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until you have a nice golden color.

For the syrp part:
-Add water, sugar, and orange peel to a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add lemon juice and cool.
-While the cake is still warm, cover it with the syrup.
optional: When the cake cools, you can sprinkle with some powdered sugar, cinnamon, and the almonds, if using. (I usually don't do that)

bone appetite!!!

Okay I've got an awesome recipe for Nachos. The ingredients you need are.

1.)Either 1/2 lb or 1 lb of ground beef depending on how big you want the nachos to be.
2.)1 or 2 bags of corn chip (depending on size of nachos) the triangle kind not the circle kind. The circle kind will burn to the bottom of the pan.
3.)1 packet of taco seasoning (regardless of size)
4.)1 big can of Melty Cheese (optional)
5.)1 or 2 bag(s) of shredded mild cheddar cheese (depending on size)
6.)1 or 2 bag(s) of shredded colby jack and cheddar cheese " " "
7.)1 or 2 big can(s) of re-fried beans " " "

The utensils you'll need are:

1.)1 or 2 glass or metal baking pans (depending on size)
2.)Metal spatula for beef
3.)Big metal pot for beef
4.)Big glass bowl for melty cheese

Directions:

1.)Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
2.)Dump whole bag(s) of chips into the pan(s).
3.)Put ground beef in big pot and dump in half or all of the taco seasoning. (Half of seasoning for 1/2 lb of beef and whole packet of seasoning for 1 lb of beef). Cook meat until brown. When it's done cooking do NOT drain the grease out of the meat.
4.)Dump re-fried beans into the meat and mix it up real good.
5.)Put melty cheese into big bowl and heat it up in the microwave for about 1 minute or until it's able to be poured and not scooped.
6.)Pour melty cheese over the chips. It doesn't necessarily have to cover all of the chips.
7.)Pour meat-bean mix onto chips. It should cover a majority of the chips.
8.)Put both kinds of shredded cheese on top of meat-bean mix. It should cover the meat-bean mix completely.
9.)Put pan(s) in the oven and cook until the cheese on the top is melted.
10.) Take out of the oven and enjoy. It shouldn't be too hot so you should be able to eat it immediately.

I would have given you a picture but these are homemade nachos. If I was gonna give you a picture I'd have to make the nachos, take a picture of them, put them on the computer, and upload the picture; and I don't have the resources to make the nachos right now. Sorries

XxChaosxX : Wow thanks for the recipe!
I'll definately try it, during my next semester
I like trying new recipes, while I'm away from home, and nobody cares, if I mess up the kitchen, lol
By the way, can I omit adding beans? Because I'm not a huge fan of them
And don't worry about the photo, it's optional

noelia : Well I suppose you could omit the beans but you'd need to find a substitute for them. The point of the beans is not for the taste. It's to keep the meat from falling through the chips and hitting the bottom of the pan. The meat will burn to the bottom of the pan if it touches it. I'm not too fond of beans either but when I make these nachos I don't even taste the beans because there's so much cheese.

I've got another one but you have to own a crock pot for it to work. It can be a recipe for either Chicken or Pork Loin.

Utensils:
Crock Pot
Big Metal Spoon

Ingredients:

1 whole Chicken or 1 piece of Pork Loin
12 potatoes
Chicken Seasoning Salt
Garlic Seasonong
Onion Seasoning
Salt
Pepper
Lemon Pepper Seasoning
1 stick of butter

I usually start making this dinner at about 10:30 in the morning and it's usually done at about 4:00.

Okay first you put the chicken/pork in the pot. Then you can either peel the potatoes or leave the skin on. Then chop the potatoes into quarters. Put the pieces of potatoes around the chicken/pork. Then fill the crock pot up with water so that it completely immerses all of the potatoes. Sprinkle all of the seasonings onto the chicken/pork and the potatoes. Make sure that you cover every inch of the food with the seasoning or it will be lacking in flavor. Put in the stick of butter and turn the crock pot up to 400 degrees. Let it sit for anywhere from 5 1/2 to 6 hours. When it's done the meat will be extremely tender so it will probably fall apart very easily. The potatoes will also be tenderizes. I usually make Mac n Cheese to go with this but you can decide what the third side should be.
