I don't really have an opinion on Skyward Sword, however, I love the remake of Ocarina of Time! I myself, never got to play console games for the most part as a child (they were too expensive) so I stuck with the portable games. Now I really prefer portable games and not so much console games (unless I'm playing PS3 with some friends) so this makes me even more happy. I love that Nintendo is reintroducing one of the all time great games of all time for the 3DS and to a new generation. I am excited and can not wait!

housechef1.5 : interesting that you would say that because there are specific TVs available that display in 3D. I think Samsung is doing one and LG but I'm not sure. either way, I totally agree. A 3D full screen game would bring some significant imersion into gaming.

eggtrigger : Amen! It's been a while since we've gotten to journey to the world of zelda with a new story. And in a sense, I agree about the OoT remake. The magic will always be there. I just dont see much point in remaking a game that has already been remade. Although admittedly, if I get a 3DS, it would only be for that game.

NotJon : You're opinion on Skyward Sword is that it is totally awesome. Now you have one! Although, you have a good point, portable systems are a little bit nicer. Especially for a Music Ed Major. Free time is never at home.

Adding to the topic:
How about a MM remake for 3DS?

cob : Thanks for actually reading my post, and if they were to remake Majora's Mask, then i would definitely purchase it. It's cool that you brought that idea up, because i believe that it was an underappreciated game. If this new release does happen, then it will give people who may not have had the opportunity to try it the chance to witness it in its fullest extent.

cob : MM would be good and due for a remake, especially considering it hasn't had one before (as opposed to OoT: Master Quest on GCN)... but not too close to the OoT remake. Wait a couple months to see the performance of OoT 3D before starting on an MM update.

bigNATE : Yeah, I guess I'm being a little premature. If the system fails horribly, there wouldn't be much use in a remake. But they could do one on the Wii or something. Maybe between Skyward Sword and the next new game? Just to fill the gap and make some cashes.

I'm looking forward to Skyward Sword simply because it's a new Zelda game. OoT doesn't matter as much since I don't have a DS and don't plan on getting one.

BNuge : I've been debating getting one for Pokemon B/W and the street fighter II remake. Might well and truly be worth it.

OoT is going to be on the 3ds but with far better graphics than the original. Skyword Sword is going to utilize the motion of the wiimote (obviously) better than TP.

Why complain about OoT on the 3DS? If anything, they're doing the series a huge favor. Going off of your arguments, they are not dumbing it down, they're actually increasing the difficulty by including Master Quest with the game. What they have changed are the graphics and moving the inventory to the bottom screen, both which are needed to appeal to the people in today's market. And older folks that have enjoyed the game will welcome seeing the classic in a newly revamped game.

Someone70 : my understanding is that they changed the water temple so that you don't have the problem where, if you open the locked doors out of order, you've screwed yourself into starting the game over.  Personally, I enjoyed that when I first found out.  But, I will say that since I've seen more of it, I am more excited about it.

BNuge :   All solid arguments
