I actually didn't get to watch the press conference(I still have school -.-). But I noticed the new 360 and the fact that they gave away free ones to the audience lol. And they have some new games coming. What are your thoughts? I don't think i can really give a valid opinion since I never did really watch the entire conference. Where can you watch a replay of the entire conference?

Honestly, I feel like this event was really ho-hum. It had no surprises like last year, it's everything that you'd expect like Crackdown 2 and Fable III. Last year I was really surprised with the showing with Natal (Or Kinect now) speaking of which I feel as if Kinect is a bad name. I really liked the choice of Natal instead.

xfighter1138 : Yeah honestly the conference wasn't too special. It's just sequels and then they mostly focused on their "Kinect" and gave away new 360s

I'd just like to make a followup why I disliked Microsoft's conference, keep in mind that I'm not trying to be some Microsoft hater because I thought last years E3 for them was perfect.

The event started off with circus performers showing off Kinect, which are the BEST people to show off a upcoming console. Next time Microsoft should get clowns to show off their projects.

Kinect: This is an idea which has been bothering me for a while, the idea of an interactive controller was a good idea for the Wii. And the thing I like about the Wii and PS Move is that you actually have buttons to control with. Natal is just used for your movement, let me ask. How will this work in an RPG? And the games they showed were mostly on-rails like the Force Unleashed sequel they showed off didn't have you move from left to right, it just had you deflecting bullets, killing stormtroopers, and dashing forward. While the Forza Motorsports game was a good idea since you can control the driving, this time you're going past cars for points. I could see the idea working well with a different title, but once you have the idea of just passing cars for points, its a really idiotic idea. Milo and Kate is a excellent idea, but I have doubts on it since Molyneux's promises never come out to be. And the Dance Groove game made me laugh my ass off, it's a game just to embarrass yourself considering how Microsoft's core demographic were teens.

The idea of having a console being controlled by voice commands is a great futuristic like idea, but you could take advantage of it SO much. Your parents or brother can just say Xbox turn off, and it will actually turn off or Xbox Stop during a online match. Imagine your console being shut off by a voice command during a boss battle or online match because of your brother. I remember the idea of watching movies together with your friends on a webcam which can be exploited for the wrong reasons. And the worst idea was that you can do the webcam type of talking with natal which is going to end up with pedophiles 24/7 on there. Imagine Natal's Webcam service being infiltrated with dicks.

Oh and they showed off a loli being screwed by a tiger from Natal, no joking.

xfighter1138 : Hmm, I never thought about the way the voice command could ruin your gaming experience because someone would just be able to say turn off and the Xbox would turn off. I'd hate for that to happen to me that's for sure XD
I thought the Star Wars on rails thing was a demo thing? Force Unleashed 2 is something else
I don't really like the idea of no controllers either, but it does get rid of buying extra controllers for offline multiplayer gaming.

Well i know im not getting kinect, simply because my room is to small for it. One reason that it seemed pretty lack luster was probably that most of the better games coming out are multi-platform and they are big on the "only for xbox". Right now im just hoping that my faimly members don't realize the wii motion controls have been topped and try to move my 360 to the living room to play that dance game. Overall Kinect is impressive though, the fitness game was displayed greatly, and had a very clean interface.

overall i would consider this a more family oriented conference, the only thing i think that they don't realize about E3 is that mostly only gamers watch it; they kinda miss the audience. I guess im indifferent to it. It didn't make me enthusiastic, but it didn't worry me either.

On a sidenote: My personal E3 highlight is Maynard James Keenan coming out and singing Bohemian Rhapsody at the activision guitar hero conference. Tool FTW... and the game "RAGE" looks like a beast.

Well, actually, I think some may prefer the Wii motion over the Kinect thing, because some people(I for one) would rather have a controller of some type in my hand rather than none at all. And now that Nintendo's got its game on with all these great reveals and that Nintendo's conference totally blew the other conferences to another planet with their 3DS and their absolutely awesome titles coming up, I think the Kinect honestly isn't that much. I watched some of it. It wasn't very impressive to me at least. I was thinking that sure, it might be fun to try it out, but I don't plan on playing a lot of games with something like that. I don't see why Microsoft has to try and invest in something like Kinect. They already make loads of money from their hardcore audience. They don't need to attract a casual audience, because I honestly think that's not really their bright spot.
Wii's overpowering Kinect right now. There's just way better games coming. I know, there isn't a lot for Kinect yet since it's new, but I can't really see lots and lots of possibilities as of now. Like how xfighter said, how do you plan to play any sort of RPG with that system? Is everything on rails? People usually dislike anything on rails. It's pretty annoying. Other than using the Kinect voice command thing in the games, I don't see many possibilities other than Star Wars lightsaber/sword games(even though that would be fun), fighting games, fitness games and sports games. That's just not enough to impress me with Wii's incredible line up and the 3DS on its way.
