Are you relieved that Capcom is taking megaman's gameplay back to being 8-bit or are you dissapointed in how they could have expanded on mega man 8's graphics. Tell me your opinions.

I personally like what they are doing in using 8-bit.

Mega Man 8 wasn't all that impressive to begin with - graphics wise, and going back to the basics has only helped the Mega Man series so I don't really see the problem that anyone could have. It's just one of those series of games that will work best the way that it started.

I think it's pretty cool that Megaman is in 8-bit graphics again cause you can't see games with retro graphics anymore and i like the old Megaman graphics btw megaman 9 and 10 are super awesome games

I think it's cute that they're going back to basics now, but they really need to end it now and make a NEW and UPDATED Megaman game.

I have to agree here with xfighter1138 - I really like Mega Man games and the new style going back to the 8bit days is awesome and helps me remember the good ole days... but I would really like to see them update the game in a new way. Maybe move in a direction like they are doing with the Metroid series and makig it more of a FPS/Action game. It might also be cool to see Mega Man in an RPG style hybrid sort of like Fallout 3.

Not much has changed in my mind. The 8-bit is better though but there wasn't much to begin with so going back to your roots will help you bring back a game to be considered good again...

Ammo007- lol, only if it's on the PC. Console FPS = Fail.
I don't really have a strong opinion one way of the other about MM9/10 being 8bit, though I don't really think it was necessary to do so.
I liked the graphics for MM7/8 and really it would have made more sense for these new games to use 16bit graphics.
The appeal of the classic MM games isn't that they are 8bit, it's that they are good games that actually have some skill required.

I personally think that it was good that they returned to the basics. But they could've done so much with today's new gen systems. Personally, I love Mega Man 7 and 8, but most of the people I've seen would trash the games for the most supid reasons, such as that the sprites are too big, or "The graphics suck", or "The music sucks" (come on people, just because some things are a little different does notmean it automatically sucks). This probably forced Capcom to try spin-offs and eventually return to the basics. And some are bashing MM9-10 just because some of the Robot Masters aren't creative (come on, people, they can't supply you forever) With the new gen systems, they can create amazing graphics, amazing levels, and amazing ways to fight a robot master. Plus, Capcom has the potentential to conduct some GODLY music. So that's what I think.

I have mm9 but I don't have 10 I know that I love 9 because its crazy hard so I can only imagine what 10 is like and I relly appreciate the 8bit classic style. its so much fun.

I think it's a great idea myself. I feel that games today are starting to lose their "soul" since today's focus is more on making a game as pretty as possible rather than focusing on actually making a game good. I like my women pretty, not my games, however with either if once you take off the shiny wrapping paper and all you see is an unimaginative drone that's out for your money, then ultimately no amount of aesthetics will save it in the long run.

MegaMan doesn't really need to deviate from it's original formula for the most part. I liked the Battle Network series, and Network Transmission for the Gamecube in my eyes is how the series should have progressed with some tweaking, but having it back to the basics is a step in the right direction. For now at least. As long as the effort is still there to make creative new bosses and gameplay elements, then I have no issue with them keeping the graphics and style simple.

vizwiz123 : The games probally had to many japanese references, graphic and music styles in them for people of the day in USA to understand

I think it's good that Capcom are back at making proper Megaman games, but I dont think it was needed to downgrade the graphics as badly as they did.
Sure, graphics dont make a game, but they can enhance a good game to become a great game, and I think this is a point that they skipped over in their rush to make something they thought would be "retro" like and would make all the "fans" buy it.

(Also of annoyance is that they dont have real disks or anything, but I've talked about disks vs data elsewhere)
