Mega Man 8 introduced us to some new robot masters. Tengu Man is one of those that made his debut in Mega Man 8. He is an air themed robot master along with Air Man, Gyro Man, Wind Man, Cloud Man, who is also electric, and Tornado Man. He also appears in Mega Man and Bass.

Background- Originally he was built by a Japanese company to study tornadoes, typhoons also known as hurricanes, and wind. However, he was stolen by Dr. Wily after the events of Mega Man 7. Wily modified him to be a combat robot in his latest scheme for world domination.

During the events of Mega Man 8 he took over the air space and perhaps his own research base he used to do research on in his native Japan. Over half of his stage is in the air. He waited for Mega Man believing that he could defeat Mega Man. That proved to be foolish as he was defeated by Mega Man.

After the events of Mega Man 8 he was rebuilt and modified some more by Dr. Wily. He joined King's robot army. However, King was just a puppet for Wily and it was Wily's doing all along. Once again he takes over an air base possibly another research lab. Over half of his stage is in the air. He awaited Mega Man and Bass's arrival. This time he believed he was more powerful than before.

In Mega Man's quest he is once again defeated by Mega Man. In Bass's quest he is defeated by Bass. Bass reminds him that he is the strongest robot. After the events of Mega Man and Bass it is revealed Tengu Man is still alive. IT is highly speculated he still works for Wily.

Appearance- Tengu Man's design is based off of a Japanese Goblin. He has a jet back on his back that allows him to fly. He has a blade in one arm that he can send his slicer weapon out. His other arm has a cannon that he uses to create wind. He also has wings that can extend in some games. He is mostly seen with red, green, navy blue, and light blue armor. He is also a tall robot master. He also has a large nose

Personality- Tengu Man is very proud of his looks and his abilities. He is very confident in his ability. He enjoys the atmosphere and he likes fishing in his spare time. He is very bold when it comes to fighting. However, he is arrogant and taunts a lot. He is also non sociable and does not like social situations at all.

Attack- In Mega Man 8 Tengu Man has several attacks. His main attack is tornado hold. In this attack Tengu Man will try to pick the player up with a tornado, grab them and then slam them back down on the ground doing massive damage. His other attack is when he fires his slicer weapon that works like a boomerang. His other attack he can just dive at the player to try to knock them down into the pit.

In Mega Man and Bass he uses his slicer weapon more. His slice weapon works like it did in Mega Man 8 except this time its faster. He can also create wind to try to blow the player off the stage into the pit. He also can dive at fast speeds.

Weakness- In Mega Man 8 he is weak against the Ice Wave. The Ice wave will freeze him on the ground. Thus, it will keep him from using his tornado hold and diving. In Mega Man and Bass he is weak to the Speed Drill. The Drills can knock him out of the air causing him to fall to the ground.

Another weakness is his over confident. He is over confident but can make mistakes in battle. There are times when he leaves himself open for attacks.

If the player defeats him they will get his Tornado Hold in Mega Man 8. The Tornado Hold can be used to take out enemies, and move obstacles out of the way. In Mega Man and Bass they will get his slicer weapon. A slicer projectile can be fired by the player to cut things.

Used to be a weather research robot. He is based off of a Japanese Goblin.

Dislikes- Social settings.

His dislike for social settings could be a reference to the fact that he is based off of a Japanese Goblin. It could be that people are afraid of him and that is why he does not like social settings. Another theory is because he is based off of a goblin he is just not social anyway.

Once he is assigned a Job he can be counted on to do it. This is why Wily likely has used him in multiple games. He is very bold and in Mega Man 8 taunts the player telling them not to make him laugh, or some versions he says I hope your worthy of my time. This again shows how arrogant he is.

As stated he is an air themed robot master and his weapon in Mega Man 8 is air related. In Mega Man and Bass he still keeps the air themed in his stage. His weakness to ice wave could be a reference that some goblins are weak to extreme cold. It could also be a reference to how cold air causes typhoons/hurricanes and storms to collapse.
