Mega Man 7 is one of my favorite Mega Man games. I really liked the robot masters in this game. One of my favorites is Freeze Man. Freeze Man made his debut in Mega Man 7 and he has gone on to appear in future games.

Background- Freeze Man was most likely built by a Canadian Company similar to Blizzard Man. Given how the robot masters were built before the events of Mega Man 7 it is likely he was built around the same time Blizzard Man was built. In fact, both had similar type jobs. Freeze Man was originally built to study atmospheric science and environmental science in the arctic. Freeze Man believed that cold and hot complimented each other to maintain a balance in the atmosphere. Freeze Man can function in the hot or cold. His weapon is the Freeze Cracker which can change temperatures and can split into particles.

He was taken by Dr. Wily during the events of Mega Man 6 and modified into a combat robot. After being modified he was one of the four robots sealed away and would activate in a certain amount of time. The others were Cloud Man, Junk Man, and Burst Man. Dr. Wily knew he might get arrested and sent to prison so these 4 robots were his backup plan.

During the events of Mega Man 7 Freeze Man helped bust Wily out of jail along with Cloud Man, Junk Man, and Burst Man. After breaking Wily out of Jail Freeze Man took over a fort. Given how his stage has conifer type trees and polar bears it is likely a fort in the arctic Canada.

Freeze Man rigged his base with ice traps and he eagerly awaited Mega Man's arrival. He put up a very good fight but was eventually defeated by Mega Man. After the events of Mega Man 7 he appears in the fighting game once again working for Wily. Therefore, it appears Wily kept him after the events of Mega Man 7.

Appearance- Freeze Man is a slender type robot master with ice crystal gems all over his body. He has a large gem in his torso. He has blue and dark blue armor. His shoes are made of ice crystals.

Personality- Freeze Man takes his job seriously and is a perfectionist. He wants everything to be in order and right. He loves creating ice art with his ice weapons. Therefore, he can be a show off sometimes when it comes to his art. He also has a cool attitude and loves striking for poses while trying to look cool. It is also revealed he likes to read and is very intelligent. Freeze Man has a sense of honor about him. He highly respects Ice man because Ice Man was the first cold/ice themed robot master.

In addition, he always lets his opponent attack first. This could be a sign of respect for his opponents. If the opponent does not attack he will taunt them trying to get them to attack. He is also very passionate about the environment given his background and he hates pollution with a passion.

Attacks- Freeze Man is a very tough opponent. His battle is fast paced. He loves to jump around real fast and tries to collide with the player/opponent. He can also cause ice sickles to fall from the ceiling. He can also freeze his opponents in place by freezing the ground. His most infamous attack is his freeze cracker. Freeze Man will fire a large pellet of ice at the opponent. If the Ice hits a wall it will split allowing him to get more hits in. He can also spam his attacks in rapid fashion. It should be noted Freeze Man will not attack unless the player attacks first.

Weakness- It is not wise to fight Ice Man without his weakness. His weakness is junk shield. The junk shield keeps him from using some of his fast attacks and can sometimes lock him into a pattern. The Junk can also trap him before he is able to break out of it. Despite being Ice themed he is not weak to fire weapons because he can thrive in warm temperatures.

If the player defeats him they will get his Freeze Cracker Weapon. The Freeze Cracker has several uses. First it can hit an enemy outright. Second, if it hits a wall it can split into three parts striking enemies even those that go off screen. It is also the weakness to two bosses. The weapon can also be used to freeze certain platforms allowing Mega Man to safely walk on them.

Freeze Man being an Earth Science robot does not like pollution. He is passionate about the environment and since he is eco-friendly cannot stand pollution. While he is cool and level headed pollution makes him angry. Even while working for Wily he is passionate about the eco-systems.

As stated Freeze Man is similar to Blizzard Man. Both were made by Canadian companies and both are Earth Science themed robot masters. However, unlike Blizzard Man or other ice themed robot masters Freeze Man is not weak to fire. This is because he was built with the ability to thrive in hot or cold environments.

After the events of Mega Man 7 he is still seen working for Wily. Therefore, Wily has high value in him most likely due to his ice weapons, his green energy, and his ability to thrive in hot/cold environments. It is interesting though that Freeze Man always lets his opponent attack first. As stated it is hinted he respects his opponent. Mega Man also respects him due to his background and how he respects his opponents. Overall, he is a pretty cool robot master and one of my favorites from Mega Man 7.
