Mega Man 3 was a huge hit and it is easy to see why. It gave us some unique and different Robot Masters. Shadow Man was one of the robot masters from Mega Man 3. Since then he has appeared in other Mega Man games in some form or another, so lets learn about this mysterious robot master.

Background- Not much is known about Shadow Man. It is speculated he was built by aliens similar to Sun Star from Mega Man V. This is evident when Dr. Light commented his metal is not like any we have on Earth. I'm not seven sure his metal is from this planet.

Regardless he was modified by Dr. Wily and activated during the events of Mega Man 3. Dr. Wily seemed to have turned good, but in reality it was just another scheme for world domination. He used Shadow Man and 7 other robot masters to go after Mega Man and take over the world.

Despite being activated or modified by Dr. Wily Shadow Man has a mind of his own. He is trained in martial arts, and is shown to be a Ninja. He can even summon animals to help him in battles in other games. He can also use other tricks such as summoning and giving illusions of logs. His main weapon is the shadow blade.

During the events of Mega Man 3 he takes over a base and he fills it with illusions. He wants to challenge Mega Man to a duel. He nearly defeats Mega Man but Mega Man finds a way to defeat him.

After the events of Mega Man 3 he appears in other games working for Wily, and it is shown he has gained more ninja training. Thus, it is likely Dr. Wily likes Shadow Man due to his mysterious armor, and his training in Ninja.

Appearance- Shadow Man has blue and white armor. He is dressed like a Ninja and has his shadow blade on his helmet. He is shown to have white feet. He also has cannons that he can throw his shadow blades out. It should be noted in future games he can alter his appearance such as growing large, disappearing, and teleporting.

Personality- Shadow Man has a mind of his own which adds to his mystery. He loves to ambush his opponents as he is a Ninja. He also has a high sense of honor as he does not like pranks. Moreover, he is confident in his abilities and is very focused and competent. Also being a Nina it is speculated he is highly disciplined. He can sometimes be compulsive though.

In later games it shows he has a sense of honor as he will congratulate others if they defeat him. He will also tell the player they are a worthy opponent. This is likely due to him being based off of a Japanese Ninja as Japan has a high sense of honor. It could also be due to his skills in martial arts.

Attack- Shadow Man keeps changing his attacks making him a difficult boss. He loves to try to use martial arts in the battle and throw his shadow blade at opponents. His Shadow blades are coated with alien material and can cut through heavy armor. He also loves to dash into his opponents. He will also use illusions in battle such as teleporting, disappearing, turning into objects or at least giving that impression. In future games he is shown to summon animals mainly frogs of various sizes in battles.

Weaknesses- He is weak to Top Spin as that disrupts his illusions but it is hard to hit. Also when using it the player will likely take damage from the collision. Like Quick Man its hard to get a pattern on Shadow Man because he changes his attacks.

If the player defeats him they will earn his Shadow Blade. They can fire two blades at once that will cut through anything.

Shadow Man also appears in the Mega Man racing game. Here his car is based off of a frog with turbo engines. He is also similar to Quick Man from the previous game Mega Man 2. Both are very fast robot masters and both keep changing their attacks. Shadow Man is still considered a mystery robot because although Dr. Wily modified him he did not build him. He was already built but deactivated when Wily found him. This adds to his mystery.

He is one of the few robot masters to have defeated or come close to defeating Mega Man. The others are Terra from the Star Droids. He is considered dangerous due to his attacks and his deadly shadow blades. However, he does have a sense of honor about him congratulating those he seems worthy or put up a good fight. For these reasons Shadow Man is one of my favorite robot masters from Mega Man 3, so I was glad I got to do a biography about him. This concludes the Shadow Man Biography.
