I've played a few of the Neptunia games in the past and I've always been a fan of the games, mostly because of the silliness. When this was announced, I decided to give it a shot because I thought it was cool that they were branching out into entirely different gameplay mechanics. But I ended up being really disappointed.

GRAPHICS: 7/10

The graphics are pretty mid if you ask me. The only saving grace is the character designs, which are great, but only really carried over from other games. Other than that, they aren't great. When you're in a battle, the textures of the environment are a mess sometimes and every now and then the 3D models don't look as good as you would like them to look. As a whole, the game looks tolerable.

SOUND: 10/10

This was by far my favorite aspect of the game because of the voice actors. The soundtrack was pretty good and there were some decent gameplay sounds but the cast really brought all the characters to life with their acting. A few of my favorite voice actors from games and anime were in the game too, so I had extra fun listening to them, but they did a great job bringing out the silliness of the some of the characters.

ADDICTIVENESS: 4/10

The game just isn't all that fun. You ride your bike across a stage while collecting Dogoos. There's no battle mechanic or anything, you just touch them with your bike and then they're yours. The objective is to get more Dogoos than the AI controlled character, which means you can interfere with them, but sometimes it's just too much of a hassle.You're just driving around in circles for a minute or two. Just getting through one battle can be a drag and you won't have any desire to ever replay a battle.

STORY: 5/10

The story of Riders VS Dogoos is very simple. Characters from the Neptunia world to a new world that's infested with Dogoos. At first, the characters are infatuated with the Dogoos and beating them in a battle cures them from their trance. The whole plot is just finding everyone else who was transported to the new world and escaping.

DEPTH: 3/10

Customization options. That's about it. You can customize your bike and do some other things but that's all there is to the game. Each battle only lasts two or three minutes at most and there aren't even that many stages. You can run around the little Hub area and replay past battles but the game can be beat in two hours and have nothing else to do. But you might get bored before then.

DIFFICULTY: 3

At times, turning the camera quick enough while I was trying to change the direction was tough, but that was the only difficult thing about the game. It was almost as if the AI wanted you to win each time and wasn't trying to beat you too hard. When the gameplay loopis driving around in circles and occasionally doing an attack or ability, there isn't too much room for the game to be hard.

OVERALL: 5.8/10

The game costs $40. In its current state, maybe it's worth $10. Diehard fans of the Neptunia series might like it but it's way too expensive for a game that's so short and isn't that fun.

It's true that Neptunia Riders VS Dogoos is a short game, even so, I really like the game, that said, even if you didn't like the game, I would say that this review could be better. Less than 600 words and you don't explain the gameplay in-depth, you can say that the game isn't all that fun in your opinion, and that's fine, but speaking as someone who also played the game and beat it, you should say more than just ''the game isn't all that fun, you just collect dogoos and have to collect more than the AI controlled character'', there are a few mechanics or twists in the game to keep things a little fresh and yeah, I understand if you don't like the game, it really is a short game with graphics that could be better and not a lot of modes and features but as I said, the review could better.

I guess I'm someone who writes reviews that are at least 800-2000 words long...
