After Sega's last year's announcement at last year's Game Awards that revealed five new games of some of their old franchises and teasing more coming down the line, we can add another iconic franchise to the list.

During this year's Game Awards, Sega and Ryo Ga Gokuto Studio have announced an new entry to the Virtua Fighter franchise. This marks the first new entry since the release of Virtua Fighter 5 (not including Final Showdown and the Ultimate Showdown updates). Besides the footage and a few characters, not much is known right now. However, I can assume that Sega will probably give regular updates in the coming months.

Didn't see that coming at all, but good to see Sega is leaving nothing behind in this journey of refurbishing they've undergone.

I wasn't a very big fan of Virtua Fighter 5, in my opinion it was greatly overshadowed by other games of the time. I did like, however, how it always looked more arcade-style than the rest, making it a different experience to play. Not sure I'm gonna catch this one, specially considering it will hardly come to any console I own, we'll wait and see what else can they show us in future trailers.

Also, let's see if this can also spark new sequels for other franchises that have gone on hiatus. A new DOA or SoulCalibur would also make my day, and who knows if other dead franchises in the genre can make a comeback one day.

How does this franchise compare to MK or Tekken? I've honestly never heard of it
