Every video game franchise has staple enemies. For example, the Mega Man franchise has the met and sniper Joe type enemies, Sonic has the batniks, and Mario has several such as Hammer Bros, Koopa enemies, and Bullet Bills. Bullet Bills have been in Mario Games since day one. These enemies are staples in Mario Games.

Bullet Bills made their debut in the first Mario Game. In this game they are fired from bill blasters also known bullet blasters. They are allied with Bowser and used by his troops. It should be noted they are also fired off screen likely by Bowser's Troops.

In Super Mario Bros 3 they are fired from Koopa's doom ships and are fired directly at Mario and Luigi. In Super Mario World they are fired off screen or by bill blasters. There is even an underwater version called Torpedo Ted. Once again they are used by Bowser's Minons. However, in this game multiple ones can be fired at once.

In Yoshi's Island it is revealed there are homing versions of Bullet Bills that will chase Yoshi. These homing versions have also appeared in recent games. In Paper Mario the Koopa Bros fired several Bullet Bills from their bill cannons at Mario and his allies.

They have appeared in Mario Kart games as well. In these games the characters can pick them up and fire them at other racers to wreck them. In Mario Party games they serve as obstacles getting hit by one will cause the character to loose coins.

Appearance- Bullet Bills are usually black or gray. As their name implies they are shaped like an actual bullet. They have white arms that helps them glide in the air at their targets. In addition, they have large eyes that they use to guide their bodies at their opponents. In some versions it is shown they have white or gold colored teeth. It should also be noted that while black and gray are the main colors there are other colors as well. There are white, orange, gold, navy blue, and red bullet bills. There are also giant bullet bills in some games.

Personality- They appear to have angry faces after they are fired. They know as part of Bowser's Minions that their job is to hit their targets. They love to hit their target and explode. Moreover, they love causing destruction. Furthermore, they are aware that they are ammunition by Bowser's Troops.

In addition, they are not afraid of dying as they understand when they hit their target they will explode. But like I said they understand what their role is. When a homing bullet bill is fired it will show its teeth in a frighting way. This implies they also love scaring others as they try to hit their target.

Abilities- Bullet Bills can fly at a good speed since they are a bullet. Due to their arms they can guide themselves to their intended target. If they miss they have shown the ability to change directions to try to hit their intended target again. Moreover, their eyes allow them to see their target so they can guide themselves to make contact. They are dangerous and accurate. Some versions have the ability to home in on their targets. Right before they hit their target they will explode doing severe damage. It should be noted they are immune to fire weapons.

Attacks- Bullet Bills will use their arms and vision to guide themselves to their target. Once they get close to a target they explode doing massive damage. They can also create fireballs and create fires. Homing versions will home in on their targets and explode like a normal bullet bill.

Weaknesses- Bullet Bills can cause problems for Mario and Luigi. They can be a problem when the brothers jump up or when multiple ones are fired at once. However, Mario and Luigi can jump on one knocking it out of the sky. Yoshi can eat them and turn them into eggs. In some games Yoshi can fire an egg at them to knock them down. Star Power can also knock them down as well. Sometimes though it is best to just try to dodge or avoid them all together.

Relationships

Allies/Friends

Bowser- Bowser uses Bullet Bills as ammunition. He loves to fire them at places he is conquering. He also fires them at Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi. They are loyal to Bowser.

Bowser Jr- Like his dad Bowser Jr has used them as ammunition and they are loyal to him.

Koopalings- The Koopalings often fire them from their air ships or forts. Since they are Bowser's niece and nephews they are loyal to him.

Koopa Troops- They are loyal to all of Bowser's fellow Minions. They are actually often fired from cannons that Bowser's minions use or operate.

King Boo- King Boo has also fired bullet bills and so they are loyal to him. King Boo is also one of Bowser's right hand persons.

Enemies

Mario and Luigi- They do not like the brothers for several reasons. First, the Brothers have knocked them out of the sky, and defeated Bowser.

Yoshi- They do not like Yoshi because he can eat them or shoot them down. Like the brothers Yoshi has defeated Bowser so many times.

Sonic- In games that Sonic has appeared in Mario Games it is shown they do not like Sonic. The reason being is Sonic can outrun them.

Bullet Bills are part of Bower's minions. They are his top choice for ammunition. He often orders his troops to fire bullet bills at areas he is conquering or at the heroes. Also, Bowser's family uses bullet bills as ammunition in their air ships. The Koopalings use a lot of Bullet Bills in their airships.

When Bullet Bills are fired off screen they make a pow sound to alert the player of their presence. Also, they are being fired from koopa troops that cannot be seen. This is revealed in future Mario Games when fired off screen. As Mario gets closer he sees Bowser's other minions operating the cannons.

In conclusion, Bullet Bills have become a staple in Mario Games as they have appeared in just about every Mario Game. They also even appear in Mario Kart and Parties. As I mentioned there are several types of them. There are homing versions that home in on the heroes, Red Bullet Bills which create fire, Torpedo Teds, which, are fired in the under water levels, and giant bullet bills. While they can be defeated their impacts pack a punch. This concludes the Bullet Bill biography.
