Nintendo has gave us a lot of characters especially in the Mario Franchise. Enemies like the Koopa Troopers, Hammer Bros, Spineys, Buzzy Beatles, shy guys and others have become staples in Mario Games. Super Mario Bros 2 gave us some more Mario Enemies. Beezo first appeared in a Japanese Game that was later remade into Super Mario Bros 2. Originally, it seemed Super Mario Bros 2 was their only appearance. However, they have appeared in recent Mario games. Beezos made their debut in Nintendo of Japan's Doki Doki Panic. Originally, Super Mario Bros lost levels was going to be the sequel to the first Mario Bros game. But that game was difficulty so Nintendo took Doki Doki Panic and converted it into Super Mario Bros 2. The plot was changed to fit Mario and his friends. Mario and his friends replaced the family in the original Doki Doki Panic. A super majority of the enemies where carried over from Doki Panic to Super Mario Bros 2. Beezo originally served the brutal dictator Wart whose 8 bit army/gang took over Subcon. Beezos are members of the 8 bit army/gang. In the booklet it says looks like a shy guy with wings. Nintendo has confirmed that Beezo are a species of shy guys that can fly. They seem to serve Wart by doing aerial patrols in Subcon. Therefore, Beezos where also known as fly guys or flying shy guys. Unlike a regular shy guy Beezo will fly and try to stab with their pitchforks. Originally it was believed that Super Mario Bros 2 was their only appearance. However, they have appeared in recent games unlike the regular shy guys who have been in a lot of Mario games. After Super Mario Bros 2 like most Mario Bros 2 enemies Beezos in their recent appearances work for King Bowser. Like their cousins the shy guys most are part of Bowser's Minions. Like they did under Wart they sometimes serve as aerial patrols. They are also used in Bowser's raiding party, and can even give air support to the troops on the ground. Appearances- They have the same colors as shy guys which they are a species of. Different colors of Beezo exists blue, green, pink, white, red, yellow, orange, and purple. However, the main colors appear to be red, orange, pink and white. They look almost identical to a regular shy guy and have near identical masks. The only difference is Beezo have wings compared to regular shy guys who do not have wings. Most of the time the wings are white. In addition, they almost always have a white or golden pitchfork that they hold while flying. Personality- Given how they have the shy guy masks and how they are a species of shy guys. It is likely they are very shy and that is why they wear the traditional shy guy masks. They tend to be a more aggressive form of the shy guys. Once they locate a target they will fly aggressively toward it, to try and stab it. On the other hand, them flying aggressively could just be due to their job. They are very loyal. In their first appearance they are loyal to Wart and help him take over Subcon. In recent games they are loyal to King Bowser and serve him. In one game they appeared in Peach and Toad called them flying bandits. Thus it could be that they also like to steal and are thieves. Moreover, this would suggest they do not respect any law and like anarchy. It seems like they only people they obey are Wart, Bowser, Bowser Jr, and the Koopalings. It has not been confirmed but they could also obey General Guy since he is over the shy guy unit. Abilities- Beezo have the ability to fly for endless amount of time. They are also very fast when flying. They are also more dangerous as they fly in groups. They also have the ability to use their pitchforks to jab their targets. In addition, they also use their pitchforks to snag up items. Attacks- Some Beezos dive directly at their opponents in hopes to stab them with their pitchforks. Other Beezos will fly directly at their opponents to attack them. No matter the type they will fly, again often in groups, to try to attack their opponents with their forks. Weaknesses- In the first game a Beezo could be defeated by picking one up and throwing it, throwing a veggie at it, or simply throwing another enemy at them. However, this is tricky as the player will need to study their flight patterns to do this. In future games Beezo's can be defeated by jumping on them, shooting them out of the sky with a well aimed Yoshi egg, or star power. Relationships Allies Wart- In their first game they serve Wart who used his 8 bit gang/army to take over Subcon and capture some of its residents. They are loyal to him and will do what is asked. Bowser- After Super Mario Bros 2 they became part of Bowser's minions. They are loyal to Bowser and aid him in conquering areas. Bowser Jr- They are loyal to Bowser's son and will do what he asks of them. Koopalings- They are also loyal to the Koopalings Shy Guys- They are the same species they get along great with regular shy guys. Other Minions- They see Bowser's other minions as comrades and will do anything they can to help their fellow members of Bowser's minions. Enemies Mario and Luigi- They are enemies to the brothers as they have defeated Wart. They have also foiled Bowser's plans to take over all the kingdoms. Yoshi- They are enemies to Yoshi as he has foiled Bowser's plans. He can also shoot them out of the sky. Birdo- Even though they were comrades in Mario Bros 2. Birdo became a good character. Birdo like Yoshi can also shoot them out of the sky. Peach- They see Peach as an enemy as she will not give up her mushroom kingdom to Bowser. However, when they help Bowser capture Peach they do not hurt her under Boswer's orders. Daisy- While it is not cannon in one comic strip they where hostile toward Daisy because she was Luigi's girlfriend and Peach's best friend. While that is not cannon it is likely true that they would be hostile toward Daisy. Overall, Beezo are shy guys that can fly. In the first game they serve Wart. Since then they have served Bowser. How they became part of Bowser's minions is a mystery. In Super Mario World Yoshi's Island shy guys served the Koopa family. Therefore, it is possible that maybe they have always been part of Bowser's Minions. If this is the case than Wart could have borrowed them or created some on his own. Another theory is they can be like the Boos and their be multiple Beezo's with some working for Wart, others work for Bowser, and some are independent. Boos some work for Bowser, a lot work for King Boo, who is an ally to Bowser, and some are independent and work for Lady Bow. Regardless, they are dangerous enemies because they often fly in groups and at a fast pace. It is tricky to get the timing down while at the same time dodging their attacks. Their pitchforks also posses a problem as they can have a long reach with them. This is why Bowser like uses them in his raiding parties. In conclusion, Beezos are aerial enemies that will try to stab the players. They have different flight patterns. As I stated they are often used in Bowser's raiding parties, are used to provide air support. It should be noted there was several years after Mario Bros 2 before they where included in a Mario game as enemies. This is why it was believed that Super Mario Bros 2 was their only appearance, but that is no longer the case. This concludes the Beezo Biography.
