Super Mario Bros 2 had some interesting enemies. A lot of those enemies became staples in Mario Games. Fryguy also spelled as Fry Guy is one of those enemies. However, his origin is very confusion, which I will be exploring, in this biography.

Fry Guy origins are mysterious. His debut was in Doki Doki Panic a Japanese Nintendo Game. However when Nintendo saw how difficult Mario Bros the lost levels was, which was supposed to be the sequel to Mario Bros, Nintendo made Doki Doki Panic into a Mario Game. The family in Doki Doki panic was changed to Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Peach. The plot was fit to accommodate Mario and his friends. Almost all of the enemies was transferred including Fry Guy.

In most versions of Super Mario Bros 2 it states that Wart created Fry Guy with the dream machine or magic. On the other hand, Nintendo has also confirmed that Fry Guy is also a minion of Bowser. Similar characters have appeared in Bowser or his family fortress stages.

Regardless Fry Guy serves as a boss in Super Mario 2. He is selected to take over the ice fort in the ice world. He takes up residence in the Ice world's massive castle. As Mario and his friends made their way through the castle. They encountered him. Despite giving Mario and his friends a decent fight he is defeated.

Appearance- In the first game due to the limits of the 1980's it appears he is red/orange and white. However, it is confirmed he is actually Red, orange and yellow. This makes sense since he is a fireball or a ball of fire. Now he does have black around his eyes. As his name implies he is always on fire. Basically, he is a large fireball.

Personality- In future games he states he is too hot to touch before spitting fireballs at the players. In the booklets it says Wart created him he spits fireballs when he is mad. This implies he has a temper. In appearances as one of Bowser minions his personality is the same. Therefore, he thinks highly of himself and can be egocentric. He also is angry and expresses his rage.

Abilities- He can spit out fireballs in rapid fashion. He will sometimes hover and spit fireballs. In some games the fireballs can even temporarily ignite the ground or floor. Another ability is when he is hit he splits into and keeps splitting until all his flames are put out. This is what makes him a tough opponent. It should be noted he is also very fast as well.

Attacks/Moves- He flies or hoovers around his room shooting fireballs at the players. He can also ignite the floor/ground. When he takes so many hits he will split into and keep splitting until he is put out. Although it is not an attack he is very durable. I want to think last time I played Super Mario Bros 2 he takes the most hits to defeat.

Weaknesses- He is very dangerous due to how he can split into and resume his normal attacks. A mushroom block is the only way to put him out. However, the player will need to time it right due to his quickness, aggressiveness, and durability. In other appearances Nintendo has confirmed he is weak to water of course and ice pellets that mario gets from the ice flowers. These are his only weaknesses.

Allies- His friends.

Wart- Wart created him to serve him and help him rule Subcon.

8 Bit Gang- He is allies with Wart's 8 bit gang since technically they are comrades in Wart's army.

Bowser- He works for Bowser after Super Mario Bros 2. He is often used as a guardian.

Bowser's Family- He also serves Bowser's son Bowser JR and his niece and nephews the Koopalings.

Enemies-

Mario and his friends- He does not like Mario or his friends. This is due to them trying to stop Wart. In later games it is because they defeat Bowser.

Yoshi- Although he has not interacted with Yoshi. Given how Yoshi assists the heroes in defeating Bowser it is likely he would be hostile toward him.

Birdo- In Doki Doki Panic and Bros 2 Birdo and Fry Guy where comrades. However, since then Birdo has become a good character and aids the heroes. Therefore, he is likely hostile toward them.


As I stated Fry Guy's origins are a mystery. The booklet says Wart created him. But as I mentioned Nintendo has confirmed he works for Bowser. There are several theories. One theory is that there are more Fry Guys and the Fry Guy in Bros 2 works only for Wart. Another theory is that after Wart was defeated Fry Guys like other enemies became part of Bowser's minions. Another theory is that there are multiple Fry Guys.

Regardless, of his origins he is a formidable opponent and a tough boss to defeat. He serves his roles well rather it be a guardian for Wart or Bowser. He takes multiple hits before splitting into. When he splits into he will resemble his normal attacks. This is what makes him very difficult.

In conclusion, he takes his role as a boss or guardian very seriously. He is a tough opponent that takes a lot of practice to defeat. He is also very loyal to whoever he works for. He seems to be full of rage toward Mario and his Friends. Anyway, this concludes his biography.
