Silas Volkmire is a villain in the Battletoad series. He is referenced in the first game. However, he did not actually appear until Battle-Maniacs. So lets learn about this villain.

Silas is the Dark Queens younger brother. There is not a lot of details from the games or transcripts about his background. Given that the Dark Queen is centuries old it is likely Silas is too. In addition, the Queen having the name Queen likely means their parents were noble or even royalty in the galaxy. Moreover, since the Queen is the oldest that would explain why she got the throne on their home planet.

He is a programmer and very technical advanced. Given that he is familiar with Earth's geography it is implied he may have even gone to school or severed in a military on earth. While that is not mentioned in the Games. It seems most likely since he knows all about weapons and technology. He also makes video games for his own amusement.

Even though his Sister is the ruler he himself is very evil. He works well with his sister and they use each other in their schemes more on that in just a bit. He trains the Queen's troops on how to use technology and weapons. He also builds some of the Queen's equipment. He even designed a zone on the Queen's planet in hopes the Toads would fall into its lava pits or at least burn up.

In Battle Maniacs him and his sister come up with a scheme. He acts like a computer sales person. He gives Professor T-Bird some of his equipment. Professor-T-Bird invites the Toads and their friend a princess who is heir to another planets kingdom. However, the technical equipment was a ruse. It is revealed that it was just so the Dark Queen could attempt to get even with the Toads he supplied the equipment. The queen's troops come through the equipment which was really a portal. The princess gets captured as well as one of the Battletoads. The Queen reveals her involvement saying that she intends to hold the princess ransome. This is so her kingdom would give the Queen another planet under her control. She also tends to hold the captured toad as a prisoner. Then Silas reveals himself saying that they fell for his trap and his sister has the princes and toad. The remaining Toads jump in the portal to save their friends.

Silas then reappears where is trying to escape back into space. The Toads shoot his spaceship down over Tibet. But after investigating Silas is not there. However, he is referenced in other games meaning he likely survived and was probably picked up by his sister's troops.

Personality Wise: Silas is evil just like his sister the Dark Queen. He loves inventing and training her troops on the latest weapons and technology. This makes him very dangerous. He also can use teleporters to create portals. He is also shown to be very manipulative as he uses different alias. A good example is when he showed Professor T-Bird his latest equipment as the professor did not know the connection between him and the Dark Queen. Like his sister he taunts the toads and dares them to come after them. He also holds grudges as he hates the Battle Toads for defeating him and stopping his plains. He also hates them because they have foiled his Sister's plans as well.

Powers: He can shape shift as he can assume a regular human just like his Sister can. He can also grow to make himself bigger. He is a very skilled pilot. His biggest skill is his mind. He is a genius concerning computers and weapon technology. He is also an inventor. He is also skilled at using weapons as he trains the troops. He also makes video games and nearly tries to bring them to life. It is speculated he may create some the Queen's troops although she creates some of her troops with her dark powers. In what is considered cannon by Rare (the company who makes these games) Silas made a Battle Toads game where he killed the Toads in the game. However, he nearly brought the game to life and the actual battle toads had to defeat him to stop that form happening.

Overall, he may not be the ruler like his sister is, but he is still pretty evil. The Queen's troops seem to do what he says again due to him being family. He helps his sister by technology and weapons. As I stated they participate in each other's schemes. However, Silas is capable of creating his own schemes like the example I gave when he tried to bring his video game creation to life. This concludes the bio of this evil character in the Battle Toads.
