Here is my guide to one of my favorite Mega Man games for the game boy. Mega Man IV and Mega Man V are my favorites for the Game Boy Series.

There is no intro stage in this game. The game starts with the plot. Dr. Light explains how the weapons work, and how p-chips can be turned into items.

This is the Order I normally go in. You can use your own boss order. If a boss or stage is giving you difficulty then try another one. What order works for me may not work for you. Anyway lets get started.

Toad Man Stage- Toad Man stage starts off with wind driven rain. Keeping going right watch out for the stream of water as it likes to sweep you off your feet. Continue to head right and clear out the enemies. Charged shots really work well. After the second drop down the one with the ladder. Fall but hang a slight left to avoid the death spikes at the bottom. There is a p-chip before the next drop down if you want it. Continue going down. YOu will then be in a room with a lot of pits. Carefully time your jumps as the wind driven rain can push you back. Also watch out for airborne enemies these can be taken out with charged shots. You will then meet one of the mini bosses of the stage a Giant Snail like robot. The eyes are the weak point. Charged shots does quick work on this boss. Be sure not to fall into the pit in the middle of the platform though. After defeating the boss slide under, jump on the platform to get the flashing B letter. Collect the letter and proceed to the right. Once again watch out for the air enemies, the stream of water and wind driven rain. Then climb up the long latter and take out the enemies. You will then enter a water tank just take out the enemies and avoid the death spikes. In the drop down hang a left to once again avoid the death spikes. Proceed left to another drop down shaft. Then you will fight the mini-boss int his stage again. This time its easier as there is no pits to worry about.

Now you are at Toad Man's gate. Toad Man is very easy just keep shooting at him. In fact, you can lock him into a pattern shoot, slider under as he jumps, shoot again, and eventually he will go down. Or you can just keep shooting him. You reward is getting Toad Man's weapon which is Rain Flush. You also get Rush Coil

Note: You can pick toad man's stage and kill your self and get game over and repeat this. This will cause DR. Light to upgrade your buster. If you chose to get the hidden upgrade beware. The charged upgraded shot is powerful and will knock you off a cliff or edge into the pit. For this reason I don't usually get this upgrade. But I wanted to make not of it for those that do.

Bright Man's Stage

First you will see a p-chip this can be got with Rush Coil if you want it. Then you will see the fire fly enemies if you shoot them the stage becomes dark. Shoot another enemy and the lights come back on. Use this wisely to avoid jumping into the pits. Eventually you will climb a latter take out the top enemy. You will see a small e this is 1/4th of an energy tank. Collect for small E's to get a complete E Tank. You will then enter a segment that has a different gimmick. Push the levers to reveal stepping platforms. Beware though the platforms will start to fall into the pit as soon as you land on them so proceed cautiously but quickly. Note some of the platforms will move up or down so pay close attention to see which one is doing what. Proceed down some shafts. You will then see a strange looking platform with a face on it. Shoot the platform to make it come to you. Jump on the funny platform. Jumping adjusts the platform direction and flow. Just guide the platform until the end of the segment then climb the latter. The next segment is another lever platform room. Deal with it like you previously did. Fall down a few more shafts then you will see platforms on a track jump on the platforms and ride them to proceed. Shoot the enemies halfway you will see the letter E just jump to collect it. You will then end up in another room with one of those strange platforms with a face control it the same way to Bright Man's Gate.

Bright Man- If you have the rain Flush weapon it will be a quick victory. Use Rain Flush to make quick work of Bright Man. If you don't have Rain Flush this fight is tricky because Bright Man loves to stop your movement and randomly Jump. Your reward is getting Flash Stopper

Pharaoh Man

You will start off having to cross sinking sand. In the meantime scorpian enemies like to pop out as well as fly enemies. If you the Rain Flush weapon it can be used to stop the sinking of the sand. Proceed down to a shaft. You will enter another room with sand just proceed carefully and do not let your self sink in the quick sand. You will then enter another room with mummy robots. Deal with these with charged shots. The next room has several times and mummy robots. Carefully slide to get the items but watch out for death spikes. Then you will see rock platforms. These platforms fall so make sure you get the right drop to proceed without falling into the pit. After a few shaft drops you will have another room of sand and enemies. The next room has the A letter and rock platforms. Carefully time your jump to get the A and not fall into the pit. Then to Pharaoh Man's gate

Pharaoh Man- Use Flash Stopper to stun him and keeping firing for an easy win. If you don't have Flash Stopper this fight is very difficult and you better have some energy tanks. Pharaoh Man is very fast and his charged attacks pack a punch. Your reward for beating him is Pharaoh Shot Note Hold down the shoot button and you can charge Pharaoh shot so it floats over Mega Man's head this can be fired for a powerful blast.

Ring Man

Right off the bat you are introduced to this stages main gimmick. Platform belts that quickly retreat. Quickly get across the platform then climb the latter. THe next room is pretty simple. It has a few platforms, Floating Ring enemies, and cannon enemies. Take out these and proceed. Drop down the shaft and enter the next room. It has you guessed it platforms and ring like enemies. Just be careful and then climb the latter. Continue to climb more ladders and take out the ring and cannon enemies. Then you will have more platforms just move across these carefully. Eventually the next room has platforms but there is a section up above. Clime the ladders to get the letter T then climb down and proceed. Then climb up more ladders. You will eventually meat the stages mini boss. The Mini Boss is a boss with a stack of rings. The weak point is the eyes Use charged shot when the boss throws its rings. AFter defeating the boss. The rest of the stage is similar to the previous rooms. Eventually you will get close to Ring Man's Gate.

Ring Man- Ring Man moves fast so use Pharaoh shot for a quick win. If you do not have it he can be tricky due to his fast nature. Your reward is getting the weapon Ring Boomerang. Ring Boomerang is a good weapon as it can be used to bring items closer to you. If you have collected all the letters you get BEAT the attack Bird.

Halfway Point

You get a cutscene where Mega Man takes on Wily's Tank. After the Cutscene you will face one of the Tan's Bosses. This Boss weak point is the flashing orbital thing. Charged shots work best. Defeating this boss will open up the tank. Proceed and then destroy the missiles till you meet Dr. Wily. Dr. Wily will act like he is going to give himself up but then he introduces you to Ballard. Ballard is very fast and powerful. Used charged shots to eventually wind him down. Might be a good idea to have an energy tank just in case. Eventually Ballard retreats. This opens up the next 4 Robot Masters.

Charge Man Stage

This is the stage I start off with for the next group of 4. Climb the ladder to get onto the train to start the stage. Watch out for the enemies that drop bombs on you. Proceed right. There are also some death spikes so watch out for them. Then head down to inside of the Train. The Next segment just deals with train enemies, rock enemies and other types of enemies. Take out the enemies to climb the ladder to the next area. The next room is like the first part of the stage. Fall down the shaft and slide right. You will see the letter Y all you have to do is jump up and get it. The next rooms are just repeats of rooms of this stage. Then it is off to Charge Man.

Charge Man loves to collide into you by charging. He can also shoot hot coals out. His weakness is Power Stone. However, that is hard to hit him with. Instead I like to hit him with charged shots. Eventually he will go down. Then you will have Charge Kick, and Rush Jet

Crystal Man's Stage

Welcome to one of my opinion the hardest stage in the game. I died a lot in this stage. First you will see a platform with a face shoot the platform to make it come to you and jump across to get the small E. If you do not want then just proceed right. Climb the ladder and you will be introduced to Crystal Joe. Crystal Joe is immune to your weapons while he is making a Crystal wait till he fires his crystal then blast him with a charged shot. Continue to climb the ladder. Climb more ladders and take out the enemies. Then fall down the shaft into the next room. The next room just has pits, enemies and stone platforms. Deal with the stone platforms like you had in the previous stages. Fall down the shaft and head right there is a secret room with the letter W garb it and proceed to the left. The next room has spikes and platforms as well as Crystal Joes. Deal with these like you did before and climb the ladder. Note climb the far ladder as the first ladder is a trap that leads to nowhere. The next room has sweeper enemies in them and platforms. Proceed to the next room. The paths split you can climb the ladder or use Rush Coil to jump up. The lower path is more difficult as it deals with a lot of enemies, collapsing walls and platforms. I normally take the Upper Path. Time your jumps to avoid the pits. Also watch for the falling crystals. The best way is to jump after a crystal falls. If you do not trust your reflexes use Flash Stopper. The Next room has falling crystals and Crystal Joes. You will then fall down a long shaft hang left to avoid the death spikes. The next room has platforms that rotate just quickly jump to proceed to the next area. The next room splits up a lower and upper path. I take the upper Path deal with the platform with a face to get it to come to you then proceed. The next few rooms are very fast. The collapsing and appearing platforms quickly jump as soon as you see the next platform. This is fast paced and this is where I died the most. Just keep moving. Eventually you will end up at Crystal Man's gate.

Crystal Man is weak to Charge Kick. However, Crystal Man likes to jump a lot and fire crystals at you. Sometimes it is best to just him him witch charged shots and dodge his Crystals. Beware the Crystals can bounce off of walls to hit you from behind. Your reward is the weapon Crystal Eye.

Napalm Man's Stage

You will first notice rocks. Jump on the Rocks they will automatically explode sending you down the shaft to start the stage. Head right to land to the secret rooms. The lower path takes you away from the secret rooms. Use the Rain Flush to put out the fire then climb the ladder. The secret Room leads to Proto Man who will give you power ups. Go back the way you came using the Rain weapon to put out the fire. Then got back down to the lower path. You will then see drills with death spikes. Use the drills to get across to the next area do not touch the spikes though as that is instant death. Keep doing this. If you take the upper branch you may have to shoot some of the drills charged shots takes them out quickly allowing you to proceed. The last part of the area will require Rush Coil to jump up to the ladder to proceed. Climb the ladders and watch out for exploding missiles. The next area has Robotic Tigers and missiles that pop up from the pits. Carefully avoid the missiles and proceed. The next area you will see a segment at the top with fire and the letter I use the Rain weapon to get across safely and collect the letter. Then go back down. Fall down the shaft and you will land on a drill use that to get to the next ladder to climb down. The next room has falling platforms. Slide across quickly to get to the other area safely. Don't worry about getting hit just slide and move quickly. The next areas consist of using the drills to get to the next area. After you climb the latter a path will be blocked with rocks. A drill will come and clear the path for you. Then it is to Napalm Man.

Napalm Man loves to fire missiles, jump and drop his Napalm Bombs. Use Crystal Eye for a quick victory. If you do not have it carefully dodge his attacks and hit him with charged shots. You reward is the Napalm Bomb.

Stone Man Stage

This stage is rather long. The stage starts off with rotating platforms. If you want to skip these you can just use rush coil to proceed to the next room. Then you have several shafts. Eventually you will come into the next room. There is a rock throwing enemy take it out and jump over the falling rock platforms. Then stand on a falling platform to slide into the next segment. Watch out for mines and Met enemies. The Mets when shot will explode into 3 mini mets who will then explode on their own. Fall down a shaft to meet the stages mini boss. The Mini Boss is a Hippo setting on tops of blocks. Shoot the blocks to bring the Hippo to were you can shoot it. Charged shots works best. Beware the Hippo will throw bombs and fire missiles at you so watch out for that. The next segment has falling platforms, mets and other enemies. Quickly move and deal with the enemies to go to the next segment. Climb the ladder deal with rotating platforms again and watch out for the death spikes. Then you will have to fight the Hippo again for a second time. You will be introduced to a new enemy shield enemies. While the shield is down you can use these enemies as a platform. Wait to the enemy lifts its shield to shoot it. The rest of the stage is just a repeat of earlier rooms in the stage. Then it is to Stone Man. Note toward the end watch out for a secret room that has the letter L in it.

Stone Man- loves to collide into you. He likes to jump on you. He can also hit you with his Power Stone Weapon. He is weak against Napalm Bomb use that for a quick win. If you do not have it don't worry. Just dodge his attacks and stones. Then hit him with charged shots. You will then get Power Stone.

Getting the letters that spell Wily opens the gates that had been sealed by Wily himself. Entering you will come across a Magnet mine these mines try to pull you in. Shoot the mines to stop them for a moment so you can proceed. Then you have a rematch with Ballard. This time he is more faster. Dodge his attacks and keep firing. You may need an Energy Tank. Eventually he will go down and you will get Ballard Cracker.

You will then have to escape the Tank. Use the newly Ballard Cracker to take out the missiles blocking you way and other enemies to escape.

Dr. Wily will escape to his Space Station. Dr. Light will transform Rush for space Travel. Use this time to buy items from the lab if you need them.

Your first Boss on the space fortress. Is a Giant Met firing a cannon. The Cannon fires powerful plasma shots. Shoot the Met when its face is showing for victory. Take out other enemies then another Giant Met. Then you will face the actual boss a strange thing that has an orb as its weak point. Use Ring Boomerang for a quick victory. Note, The Orb will also fire the Robot Master weapons at you so watch out for that.

The next stage is a lot of stuff that was featured in the previous stages. Enemies popping up from pits, rotating platforms, falling rocks as platforms, enemies and pits. Just deal with it like you did before. Then the next boss is a strange circle. Hitting this Circle causes it to split and change direction. Use Pharaoh Shot for a quick win.

The next part of the Space Station/Fortress deals with more platforms. Then it is rematch time with the Robot Masters. Deal with them like you did last time. This time you will have all their weaknesses so use that to your advantage.

Then you face the Wily Machine. First is the orb hit that with power stone and avoid the hands coming from the Left or Right. Also watch out for the plasma shots the mouth fires out. The next part is hitting the Machine itself Use Ballard Crackers and dodge the plasma shots. Note this part of the machine will try to pull you into it and smash you against the wall so watch out.

The final part of the Battle is Wily Himself. He loves to destroy the platform and the screen is scrolling. Use Ballard Cracker to hit his flying sauscer. Eventually he will go down.

Dr. Wily starts to beg and act like he is going to surrender. However, he escapes in another spaceship. Meanwhile his space station starts to explode as Wily had set it to self destruct. Eventually you make your way to a dead in. Ballard appears tells Mega Man he was wrong for fighting him. He tells the hero this is all he can do for him to make up for the trouble he caused. He blows the dead end up so Mega Man can escape back to Earth safely.

Anyway this completes my guide of this great Game.
