When I first started getting into Fire Emblem Three Houses, I heard about a cool glitch that allows you to get an infinite amount of gold that you can convert into an infinite amount of renown. It's pretty hard to get to this glitch in the first place because you need to have the expansion pass and you need to be close to the completion of a playthrough and have close to 70,000 renown already. But it really helps you get a jump start on your next playthrough.
So, I tried out this glitch and I was surprised at how easy it was and I was able to get a ton of renown pretty quickly. The issue was that every single article on how to do this glitch is the same and gives a very specific set of instructions on what to buy and how to do the glitch. I tried a variation, one that many people said not to do and that ended up being even better.
Here's how the main part of the glitch works. When you're at the Altar in the abyss, if you buy 65,536 worth of an item, the counter resets to 0 so if you buy for instance 65,540 worth of items, you'd only be spending 4. Then you go and sell those items in the marketplace for a ton of gold and you're basically converting very small amounts of renown for very large amounts of gold. Then you use that gold to buy flower seeds and you trade them in at the Altar for renown. That 60-100 renown you originally spent has now turned into 5-10K in a matter of minutes.
All the guides tell you to only buy 1 and 2 star seeds because they cost 50 and 100 good each and have the best profit. They all say not to buy the 3 star seeds because they cost more at 300 gold each and return much less profit. But this is where they're wrong because you want to do this in order to be the most efficient. Buying and trading in all the seeds will get you less profit but you will also clear out your gold reserve much faster, which corrects for the loss in profit and means you'll be getting more renown in a smaller amount of time.
Lets say you have 3 million gold. If you only buy 1 and 2 star seeds, it's going to take a lot more trips to run through all that gold, which means it takes a lot longer to run through all that gold. But if you're buying all of the seeds, it's true that you will get less renown in total but far fewer trips to clear out all that gold.
Lets say in theory that you get 10,000 renown in a 10 minute run buying just 1 and 2 star seeds. If you buy all the seeds, you might end up getting only 7,000 renown, but since you're taking fewer trips, a run might only take you 6 minutes which means that you're getting more renown per minute.
