Hello, I'm back with another review! This is my first review in a few months, and it will be my first review of 2022. Gal Metal is a rhythm game that was released a while ago and it's an exclusive game for Nintendo Switch, unlike other rhythm games which are multiplatform, this game is only available for Nintendo Switch. Before I continue, I want to say that the T rating and content descriptors of Gal Metal make the game look worse than it really is if we talk about its content and all that stuff...if there is a game that openly makes me say ''this game doesn't deserve its T rating and it should have a lower age rating''...that game is this one, Gal Metal...let's begin.

Story: Gal Metal has a basic and popular story of ''aliens are invading Earth and we have to defeat them'', there isn't much to say about the story and, to an extent, the game in general to be honest, although there are one or two twists that keep the story slightly interesting and the story definitely works for the game...it's just a popular and basic story at the end of the day. The characters are definitely better than the story itself, with a lot of funny interactions between the characters, all the characters are likable in my opinion.

Graphics: Definitely the worst Nintendo Switch game I have played graphically speaking...the graphics of Gal Metal are bad, the 3D models have a low polygon count and the textures look extremely low resolution, honestly, if you watch a video on Youtube in 480p and not 720p or 1080p, the game doesn't look that different even with the standard definition, to be honest, Gal Metal looks like a game that could run on the Dreamcast or Nintendo DS...Gal Metal doesn't look much better than Sin & Punishment (Nintendo 64), and that's if we go with the idea that the game looks better than Sin & Punishment. The ''cutscenes'', or should I say, events, are presented in 2 different styles: Manga and theater. Both styles show that Gal Metal is a charming and expressive game, but even those 2D events aren't particularly impressive and attractive. Overall, a 5 for this category is fine, maybe a 6 if you want to feel generous and only because of the interface and 2D events...

Sound: A rhythm game lives and dies thanks to its music, and Gal Metal has a great soundtrack, but it's not the best soundtrack in the genre, there are rhythm games with music that is even better. ''Blood Pact: Zero-In Phobia'', ''Fight On, Maidens!'' and ''Twilight Starship!'' are only a few of the many songs in the game, but in this case, when I say songs, I'm also counting the background music for the menus and events, Gal Metal only has 18 songs and I'm using that number because this is a review of Gal Metal - World Tour Edition, the physical version of Gal Metal which also includes the DLC that, among other things, adds 5 more songs for a total of, as I said, 18 songs...yes, it has less songs than many other games in the genre. Gal Metal doesn't have voice acting, which is very unusual, it's one of the few modern games available in physical format without voice acting, and the lack of voice acting is probably one of the reasons why the story and events aren't as appealing as they could be, the story and interactions could be better, and maybe with English voice acting the events could be even more entertaining and funny...maybe.

Addictive: Gal Metal is a rhythm game without ''On-screen prompts'', something advertised on the back of the box. For better or worse, you ''rock out to your own beat using each Joy-Con as a drumstick'', which means that in Gal Metal, you play the game without on-screen prompts in every song and instead have total freedom regarding the rhythms you use for every song in the game. The game tells you to play with rhythms that go with the music or song in that specific moment, but the truth is, not only you don't need to worry if the rhythms you are using are fitting or not, you can also just waggle the joy-cons randomly or carelessly and for the most part, it will still be an effective way of beating the songs. I don't know if there is a difference between Noodle Mode and Drum Mode...Anyway, Gal Metal is a fun rhythm game in my opinion, it's a different rhythm game compared to many other games in the genre, and it's evident that the people who developed this game were trying to make something new and different, the execution is flawed but it's still an enjoyable game, and when I play Gal Metal, I don't just waggle the Joy-Cons, I definitely try to have some rhythm and what not.

Depth: A short game that will take you 4 or 5 hours at least, and 8-10 hours at most, the 5 additional stories with additional band members such as Riku Uekuma and Kisa Hatora give the game some replay value and their stories are only available after beating the game once. There are also many badges to get, and getting all those badges should take a long time, not to mention that it won't be easy if you try to get all the badges...definitely a 7, maybe an 8 at best for this category.

Difficulty: A 7 should be fine, considering that the game is usually easy...there are only 2 or 3 songs that are difficult if we consider the minimum score required, and with the 5 extra songs of DLC included, maybe only 4 difficult songs at worst, the most difficult part should be getting many of the badges in the game, and like the previous category, an 8 at best should be a good number.

Gal Metal is a fun rhythm game only available for Nintendo Switch, I admit that I got the game partially because it's an exclusive game and partially because I was genuinely interested in the game, but in the end, I enjoyed my time with Gal Metal and I like the game. It's not a game that one should play for the story or graphics, that said, the unique gameplay, even with the flawed execution (it can also be played with the touch screen and buttons), the enjoyable, sometimes great music, likable characters and a lot of funny moments, are things I appreciate about the game. The two hot spring scenes are the most conservative hot spring scenes I have ever seen in a game rated T, and those scenes show very little skin considering that it's a game with a T rating, but other than that, I guess it barely counts if we consider that I'm the person that reviews games with fan service around here, and Gal Metal has ''Suggestive Themes'' as one of its content descriptors...if you are interested in Gal Metal - World Tour Edition, or the digital version of the game...I recommend it.
