This is yet another game where going into writing this review I knew I would be super biased cause Sonic Heroes is my favorite Sonic game. This is one of the couple games I have the most nostalgia for so if I'm super positive on certain aspects can't say I didn't warn you.

Graphics 7/10 -
While many people dislike the art style for this game claiming it's very plastic I think in game it looks really good. I will say that at times the models can be to shiny which is kind of distracting at points. If we turn our attention to the settings in this game I honestly would argue it's the best sonic game on the consoles it's released on when it comes to settings and just how colorful the world can be it really feels like the classic games in 3d.

Sound 10/10 -
The soundtrack is definitely up there as one of Sonic's best and that says something when the series is known to always have good music. There's just to many tracks to try and name and talk about all of them but I'll give it an attempt anyway. Seaside Hill is the perfect theme for getting a player into playing the game it's so energetic and makes you just wanna keep on going. Grand Metropolis is fantastic and fits for the hi tech city. I really adore how Hang Castle and Mystic Mansion both have a spooky vibe but still can be funky. Egg Fleet is so high energy for one of the final stages it's gives me a rush to go through the level going on battleship after battleship hearing that theme. I of course can't skip over the vocal themes for this game Crush 40 did god tier work with Sonic Heroes (the song) and What I'm Made Of which is their favorite song to perform and I can't blame them one bit. Each team also got their own theme which all fit them perfectly Team Sonic got We Can which is perfectly cheesy for this game. Team Dark got This Machine which fits perfect for the team that formed just at the start of this game covering some of the mysteries about the team. Team Rose got Follow Me really fitting for Amy and how she's always chasing after Sonic. Team Chaotix's theme fittingly titled Team Chaotix is all about describing the team's different strengths and the mission they are currently on. Another thing worth noting this is the last game in the series to use the Adventure era cast and it's a shame cause Ryan Drummond nails Sonic character and voice wise he's perfect here.

Addictive 8/10 -
This game is really easy to replay and really hard at the same time I know that makes no sense so allow me to explain. I say it's super easy to replay because of the gameplay I think the team game style was the perfect way to mix up the adventure formula because all 3 members of a team feel important whether it be needing the flying member of the team to cross a gap or power formation for triangle dive you'll almost always need to use every member of the team to beat a stage. What makes the game hard to replay is how it's structured with the 4 teams you have to play all 14 levels to beat each teams story meaning you play every level 4 times which isn't exactly the most fun although they do mix the levels up some.

Story 10/10 - SPOILERS
While the plot is a lot less prominent due to the structure of this game being closer to the Genesis titles I don't think it's a bad thing in the slightest. The game starts with Sonic running around at the speed of sound when Tails spots him and delivers a letter from Eggman who then explains they only have 3 days to stop him so Tails and Knuckles jump out of the plane and follow Sonic. Team Dark opens with Rouge finding Shadow who was presumed dead at the end of SA2 until fans wanted him back enough I mean until Rouge discovered him and upon releasing Shadow Omega awakes fill with vengeance for being abandoned. Team Rose decides to head out to look for Sonic who from the picture in the newspaper had a chao and froggy with him. Finally Team Chaotix is just trying to pay the rent. Eventually you'll probably realize through the story that Metal Sonic has Eggman captured and is commanding his fleet and is copying everyone data allowing him to rebuild himself even stronger as the Metal Overlord. This game also sets up the next game by bringing in the possibility that Shadow is not the real Shadow but actually a Android. (look forward to a review of Shadow The Hedgehog in 2050)

Depth 9/10 -
One of the things this game brings back from Sonic Adventure 2 is trying to get all the emblems which is a lot simpler this time around so if you like the missions each team has you'll enjoy but if you don't I wouldn't recommend spending time trying to A rank them. For those of you who do A rank every mission your reward is Super Hard Mode where the game challenges you to play through the game again but this time way harder than before. Another thing I should mention is the game has some multiplayer modes like racing a friend through a stage and the more emblems you collect the more modes you unlock.

Difficulty 5/10 -
This is a hard game to rank difficulty wise because each team honestly could give it a different rating, like Team Sonic would get like 4 or 5 Team Dark would get 6 or 7 Team Rose is a 2 and Team Chaotix really depends on what the game developers felt like that week.

Overall 9.5/10 -
Sonic Heroes is a great time it's level design is fun and it's different locations blow a lot of titles in the series out of the water I really wish Sega would port Heroes so more people could get the chance to play it.
