I've been really getting into challenge runs recently, where you try to beat games under some kind of self-imposed handicap. They put a fun, challenging spin on any game, and really make you think hard and deep about the mechanics to succeed. I recently did a challenge where I beat Undertale without dodging any attacks and got the True Pacifist ending - it actually made me think deep about Undertale's combat mechanics and abuse things I never knew about before, like using Dog Residue in battle to generate extra Dog Salad for healing.

Anyone else have any challenge runs they've attempted or beaten? I'd love to hear about them. If you've watched any challenge run videos you especially enjoyed, that's worth posting about too, especially if they're from more obscure people!

NovemberJoy : Honestly Challenge runs have always sparked an interest in my brain just because they always seem so fun yet so terrible at the same time. I tried to do as much of hollow knight as I could without actually attacking monsters with my Nail. And instead use only magic or badges that summoned the spiders or spores to attack for me. And my god was it annoying but also fun to see how I could manipulate my surroundings to help me survive.

Because I don't know if you know how hard it is to get soul without ever attacking with your Nail.

I've never done any before but ever since I started playing Fire Emblem Three Houses, I started planning a few that I could do later on. I plan on doing a bunch like using bows only or a couple others that I can find online.

I've not really done many I mean the only that pops out in my head I've done are nuzlockes but that's a boring answer so I'm really trying to think if I've done and completed one before but I don't think I have I might have to do one at some point just so I can say I have.

I did some really stupid challenge runs before, most of which were for the same game. They are fascinating to me, and I should watch some more on YouTube so I can get ideas for my next one!

But yeah, I beat Super Mario 64 with all 120 stars by only using the first-person Mario camera. That wasn't too hard for the castle lobby levels, but it got crazy in the last levels. I had to really know where I was going and what angles the camera would spin to as it followed every little movement Mario made.

Another noteworthy challenge I did for Super Mario 64 was beat the game with the CCCless challenge (Coinless, capless, cannonless). I think it was 69 stars I was able to get this way. (So close to unlocking the endless stairs).

I've also played a lot of modes of Wii Sports with one hand instead of two. That's challenging for baseball. I played Mario Kart Wii with one hand and still got first place in one race. That was with a friend, so that was FUNNY.
