I'm back with another review of a Nekopara game. I can't believe it, I got another game in the Nekopara franchise just to have something else to review, but at least, unlike the last 2 games, Nekopara Vol. 1 and Nekopara Vol. 0, I bought Nekopara Vol. 2 on a sale, I got the game on sale last month (November) if I remember well, and I don't regret my purchase I think. The fact that I'm writing this review on the launch day of Nekopara Vol. 4 for Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch is a coincidence, yes, today, December 22, was the release of the console versions of Nekopara Vol. 4...what a coincidence...anyway, let's begin.

Story: The best story of the series so far, but that's not saying much, Nekopara Vol. 2 barely has what I'd consider a good story, the story is good enough, probably, but even for a comedy with fan service and whatnot, it could be a little better. Nekopara Vol. 2 is focused on Coconut and Azuki, the story revolves around the relationship between those two catgirls and also, the fact that Azuki is always working hard or taking her work seriously, while Coconut keeps making mistakes, Coconut is considered a clumsy catgirl, and she'll work hard to improve. I can't deny that it feels nice seeing Coconut doing her best and trying to improve at what she does, it always feels nice seeing a clumsy character (we have a lot of those) trying to improve and whatnot, not to mention that, the game has moving moments, and this is, so far, the game that was closest to making me cry, I suppose that the series will need even more to achieve that, however...at the end of the day, it's not a bad story, the game has a lot of funny moments, it has some character development, and I think I'm finally starting to care about these characters, a little at least. Coconut cries a lot of times throughout the game, but it's not always something you like to see and hear. As I said, the game has moving moments. Overall, good story, more or less.

Graphics: As always, the graphics are the best part of a Nekopara game, the characters and backgrounds look great, the game has many CG images and I really like the animations, Nekopara Vol. 2 is a very expressive game, the many animations and facial expressions of the characters make Nekopara Vol. 2 a very funny and expressive game, and I love that. I said in my last reviews that the art style reminds me of Tsunako's art style, and that is fitting, because the artist of Nekopara, Sayori, is a woman, according to comments I've read...who would have thought? The Nekopara artist is a woman, and her art style reminds me of the Neptunia art style, another art style by a woman, Tsunako...this can't be a coincidence.

Sound: Definitely a 5 at best. I'm starting to think that most of the budget is used for the art and voice acting, the remaining budget is for everything else, probably, and I'm starting to think that because...most themes used in Nekopara Vol. 2 are recycled from previous games...I thought about giving this category a 4 to be honest, but even if this series recycles a lot of music, that's very harsh I suppose, in any case, that means that the unremarkable soundtrack is back...Nekopara Vol. 2 doesn't have great music in my opinion, and the music is okay at best, for the most part. If I don't like the music that much in the first place, recycling said music is even worse, seriously, almost every song in Nekopara Vol. 2 is reused, the number of original songs can be counted in one hand. Like the previous games, the game only has Japanese voice acting, something I dislike, and once again, the voice acting is a mixed bag, more or less. I silenced Cinnamon as always (I don't like her voice), and the voice acting can be annoying at times to be honest, it's not just Cinnamon. Shigure with her ''hohohohoh'' laugh was funny at first, and then the laugh became a little annoying after a while...

Addictive: Nekopara Vol. 2 is a kinetic visual novel like the previous games...visual novels are probably my least favorite genre in video games, and the fact that this is a kinetic visual novel without dialogue choices or gameplay doesn't help. I suppose that the fact that this is a longer game than the previous games helps a little, and of course, the game can be very funny, which is great, but...at the end of the day, Nekopara Vol. 2 deserves a 5 for this category...at best...

Depth: As I said, Nekopara Vol. 2 is longer than the previous games, that said, it's not the longest visual novel of all time, and the game doesn't have a lot of content, a 4 for this category might be fine...and to think that it's a greater number than in my last reviews of these games...

Difficulty: Anyone can beat this game, this is a kinetic visual novel without gameplay, and the game only has one ending, let's...leave it at that.

I can recommend Nekopara Vol. 2 if you have played the previous games, I think, but I don't recommend paying full price for the Switch version, only buy Nekopara Vol.2 if you have played Nekopara Vol. 1 (at least) and if the game is on sale. Just like the previous game, there is the possibility that the sex scenes are justified by context, the original PC version with the sex scenes shouldn't be a bad option, but if you aren't interested in the sex scenes or simply want to play Nekopara Vol. 2 on a console...yeah, I recommend this game...I think, just...buy the game on sale. I promise that my next review will be of a Japanese game with English voice acting...

Boured : You can be sure that this won't be my last ''spicy review'', as you should know, I always review ''spicy'' games or, in other words, games with varying levels of suggestive content. Drive Girls, Cytus Alpha, the Neptunia games, the Death end re;Quest series, Blue Reflection, Dark Rose Valkyrie, Otomedius Excellent, the Xblaze games, and more, I'm the person who reviews those games around here and I'm not done yet. As I said, my next review will be of a Japanese game with English voice acting, and even so, it will be a ''spicy'' game...
