Never in a million years did I ever think that something like this would happen, that I would create something that would go on to be so incredibly viral. I’ve had success on YouTube in the past, when Windows 10 Minecraft came out I was one of the first to do a video and that one video scored 25K views.

But this journey started with one man, he goes by Lixian, and he’s Markiplier’s editor. I was watching Mark’s new Minecraft series, and he did something funny in one of the videos. I tweeted about it, and not only did it become one of my best tweets, but Lixian responded and for more than a month his response was his most liked tweet.

And it gave me an idea, so I went and watched all of Mark’s recent Minecraft videos and edited out all the times that Lixian was in a video, and I posted it to YouTube. I was really proud of it but nothing could prepare me for what came next. The video did well, I was stoked when it was averaging 200 views a day, but it kept picking up more and more traction. It got 700 views in its first 5 days, then on its 10th day, I was amazed that it got 800 views, then 5,000 the next day. Soon enough, the video was getting more than 1,000 views every hour.

Over the weekend, it went on to have 200,000 views in a day twice in a row and then it hit the big one million views earlier today, and I still can’t believe it.

I'm also extremlehy happy because this video started boosting other peoples videos who were doing their own versions. Just two days ago, there were no other "Markiplier and Lixian" videos with more than 75K views, despite them all being older than this one, and then those all started taking off on the weekend.

That's amazing that your idea ended up being such a success! Seems like the pace was pretty slow at first but then the views really skyrocketed.

Wow, hitting a million views is something that nobody ever expects to actually do, but sometimes things just have a way of working out. Major props, man.

Hidden Phantom : Yeah, especially for the smaller channels. You expect it from the bigger ones but it's crazy for the small ones.

That specific video has already passed 1.4 million views and might cross 1.5 within 2 weeks. The sequel to that video also crossed 700K views recently.
