Finally! I'm writing a review of a Senran Kagura game. I'm the one who writes reviews of Japanese games with fanservice around here, and if you are going to review games with fanservice, this franchise (which is probably dead or at least it has an uncertain future) is something you can't leave out. Vizzed insists not to add the other games for some reason but...hehehe, you can be sure that this won't be my last review of a Senran Kagura game, and in any case, I'll write a review of a Senran Kagura game and no one can stop me...let's begin.

Story: Can you believe that this game has an amazing story? Despite being games with a lot of fanservice or suggestive content, the Senran Kagura games tend to have an engaging story with drama, moving or sad moments, and funny moments, they tend to have a little of everything and that is something that should be recognized. The story revolves around the Shinobi Battle Royale, a competition between schools where the academy that wins gets the right to burn the defeated academy or schools (shinobi tradition, you know). The conflict between not just Hebijo Academy and Gessen/Hanzo Academy but also Homura's crimson squad is very engaging and there are at least 2 twists I didn't saw coming. I don't want to spoil much because this really is another game best played with knowing as little as possible but...for a game that only has female characters as playable characters and where the clothes of every playable character torn during gameplay, one could say that the story is more engaging or better written than it deserves. I'm impressed, this game has an amazing story, at least in my opinion, and I'd say that it deserves at least a 9, the serious story combined with funny moments or dialogue (''I grab Hibari's boobs from behind with both hands. Her extreme tenderness electrifies my fingertips.'' and ''Suddenly I fear for the future of our nation.'' Just to reference a few examples) is something I absolutely love.

Graphics: When it comes to graphics in this series, this game looks good enough. The PC version of Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus has good graphics and it looks better than not just every Hyperdimension Neptunia game on PS Vita but also the Senran Kagura games for Nintendo 3DS. The 3D models look nice, the environments don't look bad and the 2D art looks really nice, the game has many CG images. Yaegashi Nan's art style is distinctive and detailed, the characters look great in 2D. It's true that the game runs at a maximum frame rate of 60 frames per second unlike the original PS Vita version, but depending on your PC, you might need to play the game in windowed mode if you want a frame rate of 60 frames per second or at least something close. I don't have a problem with that, personally, and yes, I have played this game in windowed mode pretty much all the time, I don't know if it's my PC, or if the game isn't well optimized or a little of both, but I can't play this game in full screen mode with a frame rate of 60 frames per second, and I have a PC with an AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor, 16 GBs of RAM, Nvidia GeForce GT 620 and DirectX 10...If you have a powerful PC, you probably laughed at those specs. I'm sure that my PC isn't particularly powerful but at least it can play some games including some games I'm interested in, if you have a high-end PC or something, you should be able to play this game without problems, but if you have a low-end PC or something like that, Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus should still be playable.

Sound: At least an 8 for this category in my opinion. Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus is another game with Japanese voices only, and that unfortunately is true for the rest of the games as well, every Senran Kagura game doesn't have an English dub, and it's something I really dislike, even more so if we consider the voices of Mirai, Minori, Hibari and Murakumo...Let's drop the part about the voices and lack of an English dub. The music is pretty good, there are a few vocal songs in the game, and the instrumental music is great, with a lot of music with electric guitar, drums, and other instruments, especially asian or Japanese instruments. Typical of Senran Kagura games, every character has her own theme song, and we have great music in this game, Super Duper Masochism (unfitting as it might be), Mirai and Futsure, Sprouts of Fire, For Your Scar, just to name a few, are some examples of the great music in Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus, music associated with a specific character, and even the music that doesn't work as a theme song is great, I really like At Gessen Academy, the music used during the missions at Gessen Academy has an electric guitar, but despite the use of electric guitar, the music has an elegant, soft (more or less), almost subtle tone, it's something that it's definitely there and the music itself sounds great, but the music isn't very ''in your face'' or ''listen to this intense and hard theme'', somehow, I think that's part of what makes the song At Gessen Academy so good, and the music is fitting for Gessen Academy of course, and yes, it could also be a case of ''I like this music more than I should'', but yeah, I really like the soundtrack of Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus and I especially enjoy listening to At Gessen Academy.

Addictive: It's an extremely addictive game, Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus is another musou game, and as such, the gameplay is similar to Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed (also developed by Tamsoft) and Samurai Warriors, for example. You have your strong attacks and weak attacks and many possibilities for combos, especially with the many playable characters, each playable character is different from the rest and every playable character is different to some degree (this is true for other games in the franchise), combine the simple but extremely fun gameplay with many playable characters, not to mention the great frame rate of 60 frames per second at least almost all the time and you have an amazing game if you enjoy these kinds of games. Plug in an Xbox 360 controller (it's what I use) and have a blast, the fun gameplay and frame rate of 60 frames per second with moments of slowdown (In my experience at least) is part of what makes this game so amazing in my opinion.

Depth: It's a game with a lot of unlockable content, the fact that this version includes all the DLC of the original version as unlockable content is even better, what was originally paid DLC (I assume) can be bought using the virtual currency in this version of the game, instead of real money. I have played this game for 50 hours and I have beaten every story in the game, if you want to finish every main story and every optional story, you can do that in 45 or even less. but if you want to unlock everything instead of just finishing the game, I'd say that the experience is much longer, with at least 65 hours if my estimate is more or less correct. Considering my experience with this game and the fact that I haven't unlocked everything yet (outfits, underwear that can be obtained with that lottery...), I'd say that...yes, this game has a lot to unlock and do.

Difficulty: Even if you play the game on the hardest difficulty, the game is not a big challenge, I have lost more than a few times playing Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus, yes, but even so, it's not what I would call a difficult game, in fact, missions related to optional stories (Shinobi Girl's Heart) cannot be played on a higher difficulty...why?

I don't recommend this game if you have never played a Senran Kagura game before, but if you have played at least one of the Nintendo 3DS games or have played Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal, this is a great game to play. Basically, don't play this game if you haven't played Senran Kagura Burst/Burst Re:Newal or Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson, but if you have played any of those games or are a Senran Kagura fan, I can easily recommend this game.
