Oh boy, how torn I am on this one. I theoretically, love save points. I have fond memories of finally reaching one, and saving my excessive progress in the PS1 Final Fantasy games. They were so cool, with their nice little menu jingles.

But on the realistic side of things. Save points are outdated and annoying. In this world, people don't always get the chance to sit in one place and play a video game all day. What happens when you're an hour away from the next save point, and you have to get off right now? You quit and lose some motivation to continue playing.

And this stuff still happens to me in modern games. I've been playing Stardew Valley. And as much as I love the feeling of finishing the day, and going home to rest. Sometimes, things just don't work out. There's seemingly an auto save, but it doesn't always work for me, for some reason. The only bit I enjoy about losing progress, is restarting because I got murdered in a cave, due to the awful mobile combat.
