Since 2016 I have tried to get this game to run on windows 10. March 3, 2018 I found out how to do so. The error I received says something like "an error prevents game from running". So found out about a file called Rtk.log recently. this file mentions Permissions VIOLATION on a file called Atiumdag.dll.
A graphics emulator program called SWIFTSHADER came to mind. The ---d3d9.dll-- file from this program I took and called it "Atiumdag.dll" and placed within the C:SierraRtk folder. The game then worked. Due to windows media player issues the opening intro videos do not work.

My method at first was us virtual pc with XPMODE Virtual Hard Disk. Oracle VirtualBox.

Great name. I love both of those things. :3

I'll have to check out that program. Making a VM is annoying and doesn't always work right.
Thanks for letting us know about it.

I found out another method to get the game to work using the Swiftshader method I mentioned in earlier post, but instead changing the name of the D3d8.dll in the DGVOODOO (DgVoodoo 2.52 -- MS) folder to the said name of Atiumdag.dll , place the name changed file in the cSierra[RTK folder. The graphics card on the pc I use having windows 10 uses Ati Radeon. The RTK.log if specifies another .dll file try using the said method and name the file what permissions Violation it has.

posted earlier that Return to Krondor cutscenes or cinematics aren't working ON WINDOWS 10 due to windows media player. I now have found a solution to this issue as well. In CSierra[RtK folded a file called RTKRONDOR.INI. Within the file [Cinemat] put stretch=0. only adjust that value. Then use compatibility mode Windows Xp (only adjust that). The video should play just the size of the video will not fill screen.
