Pokemon Alpha Sapphire Review by: greenluigi - 7.6/10

Alpha Sapphire review!
Hello, everyone! Welcome back to another Pokemon review! This time, I will be reviewing Pokemon Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS, which was released in late 2014. Fans begged for remakes for Ruby and Sapphire, and they got their wish granted! I got the game in January, but I beat the game almost one week ago, and you'll see why later. And, no, it's not because of the difficulty. Okay, enough blabling, let's get on the review, already!

Beautiful 3D Graphics~:10-  Now, you should all agree that games nowadays have amazing, beautiful graphics, right? Well, that goes for that Pokemon game, as well. Compared to Pokemon Sapphire, this game shares remastered, and colorful graphics! I mean, have a look at the lava and ocean effects. Aren't they just... beautiful? Unlike Pokemon Sapphire, which was in 2D, this game is in 3D. Not the same thing.

Also, the animation is excellent. The way you throw a pokeball, the walking, and everything! It's just perfect! And, games nowadays usually get a 10/10 in the Graphics section, right? Well, that is exactly what I'm gonna do here. Well, the pokeball shook 10 times, that means I successfully caught the Graphic Pokemon perfectly! Yay :3. Perfect score.

So, yeah, the game's graphics are really enjoyable, shiny, amazing, and beautiful! Oh, no!  Not another Pokemon! It's... a sound Pokemon! Yeah, let's have some fun!

Catchy Pokemon Themes~:9- Did you know that, in my opinion, ORAS shares one of the best soundtracks? No? Well, now you know! I say every single Pokemon game share at least one catchy theme. Aien't here to explain what 'catchy' means, so you'll have to look it up :P. Anyway, Petalburg City is an example. I mean, c'mon, let's say you were angry, and decided to play this game, ok? If you hear Petalburg's theme, you'll feel so relaxed! That's actually a very positive thing. I should give credit to Nintendo for that. Compared to Pokemon Sapphire, most of the themes in ORAS are mostly remixed, and some new ones, as well! I loved some of the remastered themes, while some of them are just... meh.

You see, ORAS isn't the best Pokemon game when it comes to themes, so that's why I'm giving it a 9. Like I said, I find some of the themes are just meh. I mean, Steven's theme could have been much better. It doesn't really fit as a champion theme, to be honest. It could have been more epic. The pokeball shook 9 times, yes! Sound Pokemon was caught!

A not very addicting game:7-   Games nowadays may have awesome graphics, but it doesn't mean those games are addicting. This is likely the reason why I took so much time completing this game, especially that I played the original Sapphire and Ruby, and I was like "Gonna continue later. I know what's gonna happen next.". You get my point? I'm not saying that ORAS is bad, I'm saying that I wasn't really curious what's gonna happen next. Also, as you progress, it will get more boring, I guess. Beautiful game physically, but boring on the inside. Get it? ORAS isn't completely boring, but I'm sure you will feel too lazy to continue it. I think it is its biggest flaw. Not addicting.

*Throws pokeball* shook 7 times, huh? Well, 3 more left to finally finish my Game review team! Also, I noticed that in Pokemon Sapphire, older games, are much more addicting. I don't know why... It could be that it's the first time playing it, maybe?

Repetitive Pokemon story:6- Ah, Pokemon does get repetitive, right? I mean, every time, in every Gen, you collect 8 badges, stop an evil team, beat the champion, and complete the Pokedex. I want Nintendo to offer us something new in Pokemon, just ONCE, at least. Well, a similar story occurs in ORAS. I was about to give this a 5, but thanks to something awesome in this story, giving it a 6?  Why? Well, after you complete ORAS, there's a mini fun quest that you can do. I think most of the Pokemon games offer you to do something fun after you beat it for the first time. I'm gonna stay silent about that mini quest, as you will have to find it out by yourself. I doubt that Nintendo will offer something new in Pokemon, really, besides that new upcoming fighting game that's coming out on the Wii U. Shook 6 times, caught it. Two more to go...

A game that takes a while to beat:10- I'm definitely sure that it will take you more than 2 hours to fully complete this game, unless someone uses some cheats :P. Every Pokemon game takes a while to beat, so that goes for this one, as well. It's basically the same length of Pokemon Sapphire, but it has more to offer. ORAS has many new things to show you, like new Mega Pokemon and the new Pokenav Plus, for example. If you want to collect EVERY single thing in the game, then I doubt that you'll finish it in just one day. Everything, dude. That goes for shinies, legendaries, shiny charm, EVERYTHING! This game is longer than you think, and I bet that it will take you minimum two days to finish it for the first time, but more than a month to collect EVERYTHING.

I'm actually happy that this game is long. Why? Well, would you prefer a hard and a short game, or an easy and long game? It's up to you to decide! The longer a game is, the funner it is. You have so many stuff to do, so you'll get excited! Hey, speaking of hard and easy, how about we catch our last Pokemon, since Depth was already caught? Yeah, let's do that.

An easy, simple game:3- Not just that games nowadays are getting less addicting, but they're getting easier to beat! That definitely ruins the fun of a game. Like I said, ORAS isn't a bad game, but it's definitely not perfect. In addition, the controls are really simple. You control Brendan/May with the control stick on your 3DS, open the menu with X, and the rest you'll figure it out. The game is easy, but it's very long. I find Pokemon Sapphire much harder than Alpha. I noticed older games were funner and harder to beat, while new ones are getting easier to beat. Yes, my team is complete! Let's see what the Overall has to say about this...

Overall: Overall, guess what? I caught every Pokemon in a review! Isn't that cool? The final score of ORAS from greenluigi is...

7.6! Oh my God! It's close to the score that IGN gave! Isn't a coincidence? And, yeah, I do say this game has 'too much water.', sorry :P! *Hides from angry Pokemon fans*.

I should say in general Pokemon Alpha Sapphire is a great game, but with some flaws, of course. It's basically a remastered version of Sapphire, but in 3D, cooler graphics, and more! If you're one of the fans that begged a remake of Ruby and Sapphire, then hurry and get this game, already! Thanks for reading this review!!

Lol If they even tried to emulate this then you would be complaining your computer would be lagging to the point of killing itself. Then Davideo's server pay will increase causing him to go bankrupt destroying vizzed. Then finally he would be sued.

I love this game! Bought it because I wanted to catch Kyogre for Pokémon Amie, but then I saw Archie on the opening screen... "DAAYYMMMN, ARCHIE, YOU GOT HOT!"

3DS emulators don't exist yet. Stop asking about why you can't play the game on here.

 I believe
usavictor 04-06-15 - 06:58 PM
This is in the rgr because it is a 3ds game, and since it is a 3ds game, it cannot be played, because there is no possibility to emulate 3ds games yet.
