Mega Man 8 Review tornadocam
Mega Man 8 Review Today I am going to be critiquing and reviewing Mega Man 8. So let’s get started. Story: 9The story starts off in outer space. Two robots a blue one, who is a good robot, and a purple robot, who is an evil robot, are battling in space. Both of them collideand plummet to earth. Meanwhile Mega Man is battling Bass in the city when heis interrupted by Dr. Light telling him a strange meteorite has fallen intoEarth with huge energy readings. Mega Man leaves the battle which irritatesBass. Dr. Light tells Mega Man to try to locate the energy from the meteorite(purple robot) because it must not fall into the hands of Dr. Wily. Mega Manrushes to the island were the two robots landed only to find the island isowned by Dr. Wily. Dr. Wily takes the energy from the purple robot and goes tohis secrete base. Mega Man sees the injured blue Robot, who is called Duo, andhas Dr. Light to pick him up so he can be repaired. Just what is this newenergy source that Wily has acquired? Also who is Duo what is his mission? MegaMan sets out once again to save the world and to answer these questions. Okay Ireally liked the plot of this game. I thought it was creative and it soundedlike Capcom was really trying something new here. Dr. Wily is a reoccurringvillain in the Mega Man series but every time he has a creative way of tryingto take over the world. I really like to see that kind of creativity. By having Dr.Wily take an energy source from another robot was something different. I alsoliked how the plot introduces us to a new hero named Duo. This plot was creative and it introduced the characters very well. Thus, I give Mega Man 8’s plot or storyline a good 9 outof 10 rating Graphics: 9 The graphics in Mega Man 8 were amazing. The stages look like real places. GrenadeMan’s stage looks like an actual factory. Sword Man’s stage looks like a ruinyou would see in an Indiana Jones movie. Aqua Man’s stage looks like anunderwater ocean research lab. Search Man’s stage looks an actual jungle. Thebackgrounds were nicely done and full of color. In addition, the sprints ofthis game were very good. Mega Man can actually swim in this game. The enemieslook very colorful as well. The controls are good, but there is a minor problem with them. As I stated this is the first and only game Mega Man can swim in. Mega Man while swimming sometimes appears to be sluggish. I do not know if that is because this is the only game he canswim in or what. But since this was on the play station, so I was not expectingthat. Mega Man 8 does not suffer from lagging until some of the Dr. Wilystages. The one stage I noticed a few lagging was the scrolling stage. I guessthat is because that stage scrolls, but I was really surprised there would be alag considering this is on the Play Station. So, the graphics in this game forthe most part were very good. The only problem was the sluggish feel to MegaMan when they player is having to have him swim. Also the few lags in Wilystages keeps them rating from being a perfect score. Thus I give the graphics a9 out of 10. The backgrounds and color really bump up the rating. Sound: 5 The sound is were Mega Man 8 suffers the most. If anybody has played this game theyknow what I am talking about here. Mega Man 8 had the worst voice acting everconcerning a Mega Man game. Mega Man sounds like a young child. In fact, it isspeculated that Capcom hired a 9 to 10 year old to do his voice. Do not know ifthat is true but that is what the game sounds like. Dr. Light sounds a lot likeElmer Fudd in this game. Also the robot masters some of their voices arehorrible. Aqua Man sounds like a child just like Mega Man does. The other robotmasters voices sound squeaky. Dr. Wily, Bass, Duo and Sword Man are the onlycharacters in this game that have a good voice. A lot of players were turnedoff from this game because of the voices (more on that latter). Also anotherannoying sound in this game is the sled voices that tell you to jump or slide;they sound squeaky. Now for the positives concerning the sound. The music inthis game was actually pretty good it is a shame it was overshadowed due to thehorrible voice acting. Sword Man’s, Aqua Man’s, Search Man’s and Tengu Man’sthemes are very nice. I find their themes to be enjoyable and relaxing. However, it’s a shame the voices were not up to the soundtrack’s level. Had the voices been better this would have been a higher rating. I give the sound to Mega Man 8 a 5 out of 10. The reason it doesnot get higher is because of the voices. The reason it does not get lower isbecause of the music. Addictiveness and Depth: 6Some people do not like this game mainly due to the voices. I happen to like thisgame. Now is it one of my all-time favorites no. But, I do play this game oftenjust not as much as some of the others in the classic series. Mega Man 8 did not have as much depth compared to its precursors. There are items to collect in Mega Man 8 and bybeating a stages mini boss you get an extra item. Items can be brought at thestore by collecting bolts. However, here is the thing the game only gives you40 bolts to collect. That is not enough to buy all the items. The items can addsome replay value. Sometimes I play through this game with different parts buteven then you can’t buy everything as I stated. The stages are long and all ofthem are broken up into first and second halves. So that right there adds somedepth. However I was really expecting more from Mega Man 8. I was hoping itwould be like Mega Man 7, Mega Man V, Mega Man IV and Mega Man 5 in terms ofdepth and it wasn’t. Thus, I give the addictiveness and depth of this game amiddle of the road rating of 6/10Difficulty: 9 This game really shines on its difficulty. Mega Man 8 was one of the hardest gamesin the classic series for me. In fact, it rivals Mega Man 1 in terms ofdifficulty. The stages can be a nightmare due to obstacles such as the sledding part in Frost Man and Dr. Wily stages. Those are a real pain to get through. The enemy placement in this game was very numerous. It is so easy to get hit in this game. Enemies will hit youfrom behind, corner you and surround you. The mini bosses in this game can benightmares as they have a ton of health. It should also be noted that there isno Rush Coil or Rush Jet in this game. The closest thing you have to Rush Coilis the Mega Ball which can be jumped on for a boost jump. In addition, unlikeother Mega Man games there are no energy tanks in this game. The player cannoteven buy energy tanks even in the store. I remember losing quite a bit of livesin this game. The bad thing is the game does not really give you much to help tocompensate either. For some players that might be a turn off. But as for me Ilike games like this. The boss fights really test your skill. Some of the boltsin this game require creativity to get too so that is a big plush. I reallylike games like that. The very first Mega Man game was difficulty mainlybecause of the poor graphics and glitches in it. Mega Man 8 is just adifficulty game that requires skills and some luck to master. I will be honestI have not made it to Dr. Wily yet so that tells how hard this game is. You maybe wondering why I did not give this game a perfect score on difficulty. Thereason being is they are two items you can buy in the store to help with enemyplacement. Still, at the end of the day I give this game a 9 out of 10 ondifficulty. Overall: 8 Mega Man 8 came out in 1998 and was released on the Play Station one counsel. I gotthis game when it first came out. I want to think I purchased it at Kmart. Iwas excited to play this game. But in some areas I was disappointed in. I was disappointed in how bad the voices were. I was suspecting much more considering this was on the Play Station. A lot of people were turned off from this game because of the voices. I can see why tobe honest. Sometimes it is best just to hit the mute button when the charactersare talking, yeah they are that bad. Also I think a lot of people were turnedoff from this game because you cannot buy every item in the store. Mega Man IV,Mega Man V, and Mega Man 7 the player could buy every item by getting enoughchips or bolts. The difficulty in those games, where you could buy every item, were still very difficult. So why did Capcom make it to were you could not buyevery item? I do not know maybe they were trying to get players to play the gameagain with different parts who knows. These two things really kept this gamefrom being a huge hit. In addition, Mega Man X4 was released the same time asthis game. So it was like Capcom was competing with itself. Mega Man X4 turnedout to be a smash hit. I think Mega Man 8 could have been a huge hit if it wasnot for the voices and other issues I mentioned. Okay now to the positives.Mega Man 8 does have some things to offer. The graphics in this game are verygood. Mega Man 8 is also known for being very colorful. The sound track wasvery good. Despite the negatives I do play this game again. However, I do notplay it as much as some of the other classic games like IV, V, 3, 4, 5 and 7.Those games are my favorites, so this one is a good game but not as good asothers. I really think this game could have been so much better had it not beenfor the things I mentioned. So would I recommend this game? Here is my take. Ifhigh pitched children voices bother you it may be that you want to skip thisgame or hit the mute button during the cut scenes. If you want to see how goodthe graphics are then by all means play this game. If you can look past thenegatives in this game you will find it is a good game. So this concludes mycritique of Mega Man 8.

megaman 8: a hot shot or a shot in the face theironhide
megaman 8 is then second non 8 bit instalment in the classic megaman series (the first one being megaman 7)and now i'm going to review this game since no one else wants to do it, but the question stil do i like this game or do i despice it? lets find out.
graphics: 7 the graphics are pretty nice (especially the anime intro) everything is very well detailed but my main problem with the graphics why they score so low is that it looks like they could have been done on the sega cd (not kidding) so i really think they could have been way much better during the gameplay
sound: 8 the music is pretty nice like in wily wars (sorry wily wars is the only other game in the series i've played so thats why i compare the music with it) but its at the same time also kind of unmemoriable the main reason i give the sound only an 8 out of 10 is because the sound can be annoying at times, especially that annoying kids voice i hear during most of the game but its overal good soundtrack and other sound effects like the shooting where way better
addictiveness: 8 as you can tell about the lack of megaman games i've played, i'm not a huge fan of the series but i don't hate it either this can be quite fun to play and feels a lot like previous megaman games back on the nes in gameplay i mainly recommend it for the fans since it feels a lot like a classic megaman game
story: 4 yeah its the cliché classic megaman story again you have to defeat robot masters defeat dr wily and save the world i personly don't play games for story most of the time but i have to be honest that i whould like it if capcom whould decide to have an other story for the next megaman game so thats why the story scores so low
depth: 6 it an well known megaman game in depth there is not that much to do after the game is played out i'm not as far as played out with it yet but even i can tell you that it isn't much more than playing the story out and do it until you are sick of it and not much more so thats why i only rate a 6 out of 10 for this
difficulty: 9 remember how i said sonic battle was a game with insane difficulty? well this game is another example for that since the levels are very big and have a lot of obstacles and enemies in them in fact those levels are so hard that i couldn't get through any level exept for the first level yet and the mini bosses are way harder then i expected they are not too hard but i really expected a little less difficulty in this game ya know so thats why i give it a 9 out of 10 in difficulty
overall megaman 8 isn't like one of my favorite games of all time but i did enjoy it and i highly recommend it for the megaman fans so thats why i give it an 8.1 overall

Mega Man 8 Popful
Graphics: The sprites are all very well animated, and the stages are full of fun details. From the various toys littering Clown Man's stage, to Frost Man's ice sculptures of Mega Man that he smashes just before he fights you, to Tengu Man's oriental arena amidst the clouds. The enemies are a mixed bag, they're either cleverly designed, or recycled from previous games. The anime intro's also fun to watch, and looks like something out of an OVA, with plenty of cameos of bosses from previous games, such as Guts Man, Engine Man, Pharaoh Man, and Dark Man. The other animated cutscenes are nice, too.
Sound: The music isn't anything spectacular, but it fits the stages well enough, most of the sound effects also work rather well, Mega Man's buster having a good majority of them. Unfortunately, however, the voices are often terrible, examples being Mega Man's high-pitched voice sounds oddly girlish, Grenade Man's voice is too over-the-top to be taken seriously, Clown Man's voice could easily be done by pinching your nose, and Frost Man sounds like he has a cold (oddly appropriate). This extends to said intro, as well (you must stop Doctor Wahwee!).
Addictiveness: While this game warrants an occasional replay, you aren't likely to find anything new on your next go. Collecting bolts can be pretty fun, but not enough to count as replay value. Maybe they could have bundled a mini-game with it?
Story: The story is what you'd expect from a Mega Man game. Two mysterious beings fight it out in space, and fall to Earth, one lands near Dr. Light's lab and is rescued by him and Mega Man, while the other is found by, guess who, Dr. Wily (Dr. Wahwee!). For the most part, there's nothing new or surprising here, but that's not a big deal, since it's mostly an excuse to put neat cutscenes in the game. Since when were Mega Man games about telling a good story, anyway?
Depth: As always, experimenting with new weapons is a fun thing, and buying new abilities with bolts promotes finding your own playstyle. Unfortunately, this is one of the more linear titles, so experimenting with the order of each stage isn't quite as much fun as it usually is, since you can only access 4 of the 8 boss stages at a given time, a lot like the SNES title Mega Man and Bass, minus the branching paths that made that game interesting.
Difficulty: This is one of the easier titles in the series, though it thankfully still poses a fun challenge. There is plenty of variety in the levels themselves, Tengu Man's stage has SHMUP segments, Frost Man has a snowboarding scene, Clown Man has a various little gimmicks in his stage such as O and X boxes that will do different things depending on which you're standing on when the bell rings.
Overall, I'd recommend this game to fans of this series, as well as those who are merely curious about it. It's a fun 32-bit update to a mostly 8-bit series.

Mega man 8 is the first mega man game to feature on the play station and had animeted cut scenes and terrible voice acting. mega man 8 has been said to be bad but the game play its self is fun.also if you don't like the cut scenes you can just skip them this game also brings in 8 new robot masters like astro man, sword man, aqua man, search man, frost man, clown man, grenade man and my all time favorite tengu man. this game also brings in all sorts of great music and is very hard to play without listening to its music because personally its my favorite mega man music. hope you play this amazing mega man game and have a great time playing it!
