Unlike most people, when tax time comes around, I usually have to pay in thanks to having the site (the US government hates business owners). Since some of you get pretty generous tax returns, why not help the site out by donating a tiny bit of it? You'll get rewarded with plenty of benefits.

Interested in Donating? If so, go here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/donations.php

Earn Viz from Donating!
$10 = 10,000 Viz
$25 = 30,000 Viz
$50 = 75,000 Viz
$100 = 175,000 Viz
$250 = 500,000 Viz

Why donate besides helping the site out financially?
Donating grants you lots of Viz and lots of Viz can get you access to lots of nice items in the Vizzed Market. For 10,000 Viz you can get the Beta Test Ticket which grants you access to games, systems and features before they go public. For 30,000 Viz you can get the PlayStation item which gives you access to literally play nearly 2500 PlayStation games on Vizzed. Those are just a few things among many. Also, if you're feeling really generous, if you make the top 5 10 donator list, you'll be given your own permanent custom username color forever. For more information on these items, go here:
https://www.vizzed.com/market/listings.php?type=Key

Play 2500 PlayStation games!
Ok I really wanted to put emphasis on the PlayStation games on Vizzed. There are nearly 2500 PlayStation games in the Retro Game Room which is almost every PS1 game ever made. Most of the games play nearly perfectly and they all play in HD, support save states, allow you to play multiplayer with netplay and so much more! The PS1 games take up a ton of disk space and bandwidth (which costs me money) which is why it's a system that's exclusive to people who help out the site in some way. You can get the PlayStation item for 30,000 Viz (equivalent to a $30 donation) here:
https://www.vizzed.com/market/listings.php?type=Key

Don't have PayPal?
If you don't have PayPal but still want to donate, you can donate in any other way that you can (and you can even donate your unused games as seen here). I'll still add you to the donations list and you'll also still get the CP and Viz from doing so. Keep in mind that PayPal allows people with Credit Cards but no PayPal account to donate. If you don't have PayPal or a Credit Card but still want to donate, let me know of ways that you are able to in this thread.

Don't have money to donate but still want to help out?
There are lots of ways to help out the site even if you don't have money. You can tell your friends about Vizzed, you can tell everyone on your facebook about Vizzed, you can submit content to the site, etc. You can also help out the site in a ton of ways mentioned in my Help out Vizzed thread so if you can't help out financially, please consider doing everything in this thread:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=78350

Want to help out monthly for even more benefits? Become a Patron!
You can do a monthly pledge of any amount, even as low as US $2 a month. There are many perks depending on the tier that you choose. My Patreon page can be found here:
https://www.patreon.com/DavidAuchampach

I've had a look on the Patreon, and I will admit it does sound helpful. Although the only suggestion I want to make is maybe making it where once a Patreon has finished a payment for a month, they get a monthly income of Viz as a result based on their patronage value, although maybe not as much as a direct payment.

ah2190 : They already do have a huge Viz multiplier which means they get way more Viz for everything they do compared to everyone else. I don't want to discourage donations though which is why I don't have a flat payout but maybe what I could do as a compromise is award a certain amount of Viz any time a user has been a patron for a certain number of months. It's definitely something I'll consider.

That I have to agree is a good compromise: maybe for being a Patreon for a complete quarter, you get Viz based on the average payment made - either by rounding it to the tier equivalent (For example, if someone donates at the $2 tier for two months, but then ups it to the $50 tier for the third month, they'd only get Viz equivalent to what someone who always stuck at the $10 tier) or depending on the value rounded to the nearest dollar (in this case, they'd get as much as someone who pledged $18 for all three months)

ah2190 : I'm a Patron, before he opened up Patreon, I donated a little... I don't really care for the Viz amount. If I did, I'd keep donating. Instead, I went for Patreon, because I want to support the website. I don't need Viz as an incentive... Just thought I'd add some input as a Patron.

Sorry about budding into your conversation David... Hope it helped though!

Well, I can understand why you say that, darthyoda - I'm just speaking from the point of view of someone who is a Patreon of some artists who do offer a rebate on commissions based on how much you pledge.

I just wanted to point out that the site only has $20 worth of donations in the past 30 days. There was a time when the site would generate $200-$300 a month on average from donations (as recent as a year ago) but lately over the past few months it's been anywhere between $0 and $50. I'm honestly not sure what has caused the massive drop in donations. I understand that the drop in traffic of course has a lot to do with it but the site's traffic has really only dropped by around half but the donations have dropped by way more than that. Anyone have any ideas of what the problem could be? Am I not posting enough announcements about donations like I use to?

Davideo7 : possibly a combination of that and how the world has messed up quite a bit, what with the political situations. That, and people might have not as much money to donate. But here's the thing - you can donate as little as $1, and every single $1 helps. Heck, if every single Normal user just donated $1, you'd have about $5k in donations. Of course, the number of active Normal users are much less than that, but my point still stands.

ah2190 : I've tried to rally up the users to do that also but even that has never worked. Heck I give out benefits to users for just becoming a $2 patron and I only have a handful of people that have done it.

Again, I appreciate the feedback. It's sometimes helpful to get the perspective of the end user.

Davideo7 : No worries. Anyway, I have started a patronage, and I might donate to start it off early if you don't mind.

Davideo7 : in that case, I'll need your PayPal address, as there is no way to donate $5 exactly using the current PayPal links. Maybe you should offer, if you have it, a PayPal.me link for custom donations?

You need to go ahead and give up on this site already. If you got a website that has almost every single video game from 2001 and earlier on it yet you still financially struggle, then you are not going to ever be successful at this. Plus, is this site even legal? I know you say that you are legally renting the games, but if so, then how come all the first party Nintendo games must be played on some other site? Maybe you are just wanting to avoid making Nintendo your enemy as you know a legal battle with Nintendo is one sided. Who knows what is and is not legal these days? Though if you want to be in the video game business, you best start your own video game store. This site is a lost cause.

elite768 : The site is still profitable and had been very profitable at one point. I'm basically wanting to get it to the point where I can work on it as my full time job again. I wouldn't give up on the site though, it's been my main project since 2002 so it'd be like aborting a child at this point.

ah2190 : The reason I don't have a way to donate small PayPal amounts is due to PayPal's base charge. I figured that a small donation would mean that PayPal is getting too big of a chunk of it to be worth doing. If you want to do a custom donation of $5 though, we can do that and I can reward you the equivalent of what a $5 would be worth in CP and Viz. My paypal address is davideo7@hotmail.com

Davideo7 : Well, I chose to actually do a $25 donation instead, seeing how my money has come in.

elite768 : This feels like harsh criticism towards this site, in my opinion. I mean, Vizzed does in a way have a proper copy of most games. And besides, if it was illegal, it'd be shut down by now. So I don't know why you're hating... But, I guess Haters Gonna Hate, after all.

I know since I am working again I could probably start donating to the site once again. If do get anything substantial back from taxes this year I'll be sure to look into it as well. I've started working back at same office as last year for another 6 month round and trying to apply full-time there, it's been an awkward change to since the employment company has changed completely and now A LOT of things have changed in the office.

We make 9$ an hour instead of 8 because of it though we only get payed semi-monthly instead of weekly, meaning my next paycheck should be on 24-26th of April. I should be able to at least give 25-50$ in donation every month until my leave in September or so again. (or if I manage to get hired on full-time in which I will continue support) mostly have just been trying to get my revenue back in since my 6 month leave since I was at bare minimums by February and I already had to wait a "practical" full month before even got first paycheck from work (March 16 - April 10th)

Either way I'm hoping by the end of April I should be able to help out the site in some way through paypal or a patreon donation.(Whichever/whatever way may be more convenient for the site)

(P.S ....video game stores aren't even worth it anyway, is why many gamestops have been shutdown recently and other places like blockbuster/hollywood video went down. We have digital these days so a lot of people don't go for physical means these days)

sonicthehedgehog57 : That's great! The more who are able to help, the better. And the Patreon stuff is more helpful, thinking about it.

I only earn $730 a month and that isn't enough to live on for myself. I will try donating a small amount probably enough money for a big mac meal at mcdonalds (might not be much to you but to me it is lol). I don't know when but hopefully in next week or two.

ah2190 : Which was greatly appreciated

sonicthehedgehog57 : That'd be great. Only do what you can comfortably afford.

JigSaw : When users with no money donate, that amount is far more appreciated than any amount a wealthy person donates because a donation from a wealthy person is nothing to their total income but a donation from someone who doesn't have a lot is more meaningful since that's a big sacrifice. I wouldn't expect a donation from you since you barely have enough to live on. Plus you've donated a lot to this site already and also a lot of time
