Parasite Eve Review

Hi guys. I'm back with another review based on a ps1 game I have come to adore. Its one of the first few creepy games I love to play!

Story 8 out of 10: It starts out weird at first but it seems its focused on a young girl in a car with a young man and on their way to the opera theater. This would be on Christmas eve When you enter the theater you will watch the show of a romantic love story. And as you felt it was getting really good. Something bad happens. And what happens to everyone is terrible and really grimy. There will be one person who is unaffected. And it just happens to be that young girl. Her name is Aya Brea a rookie police officer from New York. She gets onto the scene as of what happened to the people since being able to dodge something so terrible. With that your story as Aya Brea begins.....

Graphics 8 out of 10: This would be graphics of final fantasy 7 and final fantasy 8. It was the first thing that hit me this would be for the normal graphics. Now for the cinema mode its like ff7 and ff8. It actually made me to smile in a way. Because it made me to think even though it is not final fantasy 7 or 8 you are still kinda playing it in a way.

Sound 8 out of 10 The music is really nice and upbeat in a way. There are some slow. Some creepy ones. And even there eerie ones...those creep me out the most when listening too. This specific music is for when you are like coming close to the main villain. You will have encounters like that and when it happens the eerie music. Another one would be the boss music as well. So its like up and down in a way with different types of music in different types of places for which area you go to. Some you would know again for when you go to another place.

Addictiveness 8 out of 10: YEEEPPP this game is very addictive so additive it makes you want to go back and play more. I dunno how that draws in a way. But it just does. I mean like I kept at it everyday. I even work up 6am in the mornings to freaking play it! @.@
If that doesn't tell you the addiction for it then I dunno what would. XD

Depth 3 out of 10: There isn't much to say about this one sadly. Because the game is pretty short and straight forward. There are no sidequests and stuff. Its just from the beginning and to the end. And when you have completed it that will be the end of the game.

Difficulty 8 out of 10: Yeah the game isn't so easy. At first I had to work my way around the difficulty because it was my first time playing it. So I wasn't sure what to do. But I did manage to get the hang of what I needed to do and what to understand about the game. The more I progressed in days. The more harder and tense things became like bosses or regular monsters.

Overall 8 out of 10: It’s a great game to play if you haven't as of yet, then I feel very sorry for you. Go and play! I really recommend you to try it out! Because I have to say the game is more gruesome and creeper than any resident game I have seen. Also plus its a real whole lot of fun. I know you would probably say not to that but that’s just my opinion.

Actually I believe there is a side quest or two in the game,such as getting infinite tools to tune up your guns and armor. I think the reason for not playing the second game,because it was changed up a bit. Kind of like how Square-Enix screwed up Front Mission.

Oldschool777 : I wouldn't say they screwed up Parasite Eve 2... it wasn't even changed that much from how it already worked.
But I do agree about FM... what SE did was a really bad choice.

I think that is unlocked if you get enough 'gun trading cards' to cash in for weapon and armor upgrades. But for the most part I agree with your review. I think Square-Enix is going in the 'milk and beat your key franchises to death' direction. Like all the damned FF13 games and side stories. This was one game that the strategy guide was needed for all the good stuff.

I already seen the gameplay of parasite eve 2 long ago like a month ago or so. but...it didn't really give me an excitement. I know its something I wouldn't really want to play. the gameplay is totally different same for the normal graphics the only thing that hasn't changed much are the cutscenes graphics. I didn't want to say no van but uh....

Front Mission was damn near perfect. Part 4 was awesome,you could repair your allies with a mechanic mech and if you played the French girl's parts,you could get drops that tipped the scales in your favor. I thought PE2 was changed a bit,that it was more action and less RPG. But it is a shame that PE did not get the love that FF got.

I haven't played this one, but I have seen most of it in a stream (trixz) and it seemed decent enough I guess. Not my kind of thing, but solid nonetheless.

Eirinn : Sorry for the late reply. Yeah I got up at 6 am an started playing it again. That was how much addictive it was. And I really loved enjoy playing the game more. Its similar to resident evil games so I'm ok with playing it.
