When you play TurboGrafx CD and PC-FX games on Vizzed for the first time, they work just fine. However, when you go to play the same game a 2nd time, it usually doesn't work. This is because of the RGR Plugin create a save file that for some reason gets corrupted so when you go to play the game again, it tries to load that save file but since it's corrupted, the RGR Plugin crashes.

There are 2 solutions to this problem. You can either delete the save file that gets created on your computer every time or you can play the game in high score mode (since high score mode doesn't support saving or loading).

Here's how to delete the save files:

1. On your computer, go to the following directory (replace #### with your Vizzed user id)
C:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPluginUser-####Mednafen_newsav
And for netplay, you'll have to go to this directory:
C:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPluginUser-####Mednafen_new-netplaysav

2. Find the save file of the game you're wanting to play. The name of the save file should start with the name of the game. An example save file name would be Motoroader_MC_(NTSC-J)_[NSCD2015].32f2b0b4a1e1d6cc1c74c54de7243b59.sav

3. Delete the save file once you find it.

And that's it! The game should now work again. Just keep in mind that you have to do this every time you want to play the game. I hope to find a solution to this problem soon.

I've also noticed that problem with PC-FX games.  I hope the PC-FX problem will be fixed soon because there are some games that I'd like to play through, but that issue prevents me from progressing through the games.

gamerforlifeforever2 : I didn't know that. I'll update this thread to reflect that.

It's odd that the RGR Plugin didn't have this problem years ago. I'm not sure if updates to the play window caused the problem or if updates to the RGR Plugin caused the problem. At very least, the solution to fixing the problem might involve just disabling saves all together for PC-FX and TGCD but that's a last resort.

I noticed in the logs that it is looking for an SBI file for every game.
Not saying that's why its causing it to crash, so I will have to look further into it and see if I can find some more info so you don't have to disable saves.
There is a fix for Pokemon saves, so it might be the same issue.

Edit-
Wrong file type.

Sorry for double post, but I thought it might be worth mentioning that I ran Mednafen outside of the RGR, it works fine.
The save was created and and it ran fine a 2nd and 3rd time...

As far as the SBI file goes, it is some kind of copy protection that is supposed to check against a database (redump.org), but my guess is that its not connecting to that DB for some reason.

I will look more into if there is a way to disable this check (or perhaps reenable it if that's the problem).

zombiehunter : Are you using Google Chrome? If so, let me know if this works:

Vanelan : Thanks for the info, that should definitely help us narrow down the problem. This use to not be a problem with the plugin so it's kinda weird that it started happening.
