Mother (Earthbound Beginnings) will always be my favorite game of all time, and the other two games, Earthbound and Mother 3, are almost just as good.  I am starting to believe that these games just aren't getting the attention that they deserve.  What are your thoughts about the Earthbound series?

Well I have been playing Earthbound on the actual SNES for a while now, it is weird but a good kind of weird. Also if your wondering how I got enough money to get a Earthbound cartridge, I didn't (Reproductions are wonderful).

I wish that Nintendo would just hand this amazing RPG to Microsoft for money so it can finally get the United States recognition it deserves. I'm not even sure if Nintendo even wants anything to do with Earthbound or Mother anymore they sure haven't shown interest in making a Mother 4 yet. I feel that Earthbound is the best 2D RPG to feature exciting turn based combat and I love how silly the enemies are.

I haven't played the other games, but I really didn't like Earthbound.
I really don't see the appeal of it. It felt really slow and very redundant... even more than an RPG should be...

I ouldn't get into Earthbound Beginnings at all, I started Earthbound and then kind of lost interest when I couldn't figure out where to go and then I played Mother 3. In terms of gameplay HOMIGOSH I think it's the best one. I actually know where to go and can go there AT MY OWN PACE (GOSH I wish more games would do that), the battles are still charming like they were in Earthbound and MMMMM the atmosphere was spot on. I had some issues with the story, but it was otherwise a fantastic time. I can understand the hype around it. Getting Earthbound to the virtual console and Smash brothers have done WONDERS for getting Earthbound a bit more attention but I'm STILL waiting for Mother 3.

Vanelan : Mother 3, and Mother 1/Earthbound Zero/Earthbound Beginnings play more like normal RPG's if you ask me. Although the latter is more of a Dragon Quest styled random encounter, grind-heavy, RPG. While Mother 3 has a more refined style of Earthbound's battle and encounter system.
