Beastmode64 : It's the easiest to softmod and has a good homebrew community that's pretty much the only reason I like the Wii nowadays.
I've moved on to playing classic console and PC games instead for some reason. Probably because I'm part of 'PC Master Race' even though I don't have a Steam account I have put a £5 deposit in, I just like PC's versatility

I don't entirely remember, but I think it was either a Super Nintendo or a Playstation. I didn't get into portable gaming until I got slightly older, so I think it was one of those two, although I really don't know for sure. I know my dad had an original NES front-loader, but he sold it before I could really get a chance to play it.

The first console I have offically owned was the PlayStation 2 and I got that for Christmas in 2004, although my brother have gave me his PlayStation 1 in 2001 when he got a Xbox, but I don't count that.

My first console/handheld that I have bought with my own money was the Nintendo 3DS XL in 2014 for us$200 plus 4 games which added up to about $500 x.x, but that went until late November 2015, when it broke and in result, I bought the New 3DS.

LunarDarkness2 : You should already know this Lunar, but for those who don't my first console (or handheld in this case) was a GBA SP. I got it when I was 6 I think and play the heck out of it till my parents sold it to a pawn shop since I was bad. Good thing is that I bought a new SP last year and a few months after that my Grandpa gave me his old one meaning I have 2 GBA SP's as well as a lot of games to go with it so yeah I'm pretty set on the GBA ^^

The first console I recall having was a Nintendo 64. I didn't have very many games but I had loads of fun with the ones I did. I loved playing Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and Sarge's Heroes with my friends when they came over, we'd have little tournaments just about every time.

My first video game console I ever owned was the Super Nintendo.  I grew up playing classic platformer games, both 2D side scrolling and 3D platforming, which puts them in a special place in my heart.

First console I had was Atari. I don't remember that lasting for long though. We got a Nintendo when I was 4 or 5 so I remember that better.

The first console I've got was the Nintendo DS. Even though it wasn't the first CONSOLE I've ever played, but it is at least the first gaming platform that I have ever used though. I remember playing Nintendogs, playing with my dogs and whatnot. It was fun. I never really had a lot of knowledge back then to progress much further to the game, but still fun regardless though.
However, the first actual console I got was the Nintendo Wii. I got this present as a Christmas present, and I was confused what it was. I mean, a console with a controller that you had to move? Never heard of it back then, well except for the commercials that is. Anyway, the DS and the Wii, made me enjoy video games, and that was at least fun I guess.

The very first video game console I ever owned was a Sega Genesis...well, I kinda stole it from my sister because she had little to no interest in it, but most of the rest of my other consoles came to me without a need for theft.  Yeah, I was kind of a little punk back then.  But back to the point, it all started with the Sega Genesis.  And I literally grew up on Sonic.  End of story.

I was in the era of the original NES not the the very first system, but old enough for today's standards, that was as well my first console. I loved it, and I still do there a quite the few classic legendary games for it. I remember waking up in the morning playing it before school for a half hour, then playing it for a bit after school once my homework was done. And playing it for hours on the weekend, and while on breaks from school. I also played it over my Aunt's and Uncle"s house as well since they were fans of the system as well. I even have the NES still today, not my original though, but it still holds up, and does an amazing job, when I play it every now and then.

When I was growing up, I owned both the original PlayStation and the Super Nintendo. I think the first console I've played was the PlayStation. My first handheld console would be the Game boy Color. I remember the Pokémon craze when I was growing up. I did own red, blue, and Silver versions of Pokémon. Well, they were mostly my brother's but he gave me blue. Gaming sure has changed.

From what I remember, I grew up owning the original Playstation, and Super Nintendo (the same as the user above me).
I played mainly on the Super Nintendo and a bit on Playstation. A few years after, I got a Game boy color, which I mainly used to play Pokemon games. Then Playstation 2, which stopped working a few years ago, and currently right now, a Playstation 3, which I still use frequently,

Before I played the Gameboy Advance I had the Nintendo 64 and before I played the N64 I had the Playstation 1 which in my opinion the console to revolutionize console gaming entirely. Honestly to this day I prefer my N64s' gaming cartridges over my Playstation 1s' CDs. Despite this the Playstation 1 is still the first console I had ever played on. Games I played on the console were Dragonball GT and Crash Bash which was all I needed to entertain myself.

The first console I ever owned was a Sega Genesis. My dad bought one for the family when I was about 5 or 6. We had games like Sonic the Hedgehog (1-3), Bubsy, Urban / Jungle Strike, and Streets of Rage. My earliest memory of gaming was playing Streets of Rage with my uncle, and getting really far into the game before dying at one of the bosses. To this day I've never beat any of the Streets of Rage games, and now that I think about, really want to go back and at least finish one of them.

The first console I've ever owned was an NES, back around when it first came out. I still own it, and some games, but it stopped working.

We also had a GameBoy, the large brick one, so that was my first handheld one, well actually we did have those Tiger Electronics games, so I suppose those would have been my first handhelds. XD

EDIT: I'm old. XD (and yes, I edited JUST to add that. I'm also weird. XD)
