HEY EVERYONE!!!

I am extremely excited about the mobile app "pokemon go" that is coming out next year 2016, and so far, we know very little about the game. The basics we know so far is that we actually go outside and travel  and get a buzz on our phones or the buy-able device we can get it for it, when we pass a pokemon or trainer, but the thing that is really making me think and I want your thoughts on, is what the story is going to be like. Pokemon usually has big story with every game (except for some spin offs) so safe to assume, what is this game's story is going to be like, are we going to have a rival team, can we become that rival team, what about gym battles, where would they be, who can become them or are they npc's. i also want to know your theory's and thoughts about the mobile game. please comment!!!!!!

Well I'm sorry to say but I think this thread has already been made. I'm going to summon somebody who I think might know who created the thread or made it himself not sure. I know I saw the thread somewhere.

Answering your question, I'm not too big on speculating (it only makes me more impatient for things!). However, I can give it a shot here and there.

I don't think there's going to be any more of a story than there is in a standard mainstream Pokémon game. Try to be the very best trainer, catch every Pokémon out there, defeat some general evil team (as long as it's not another Team Flare, I'll be okay)... There's really not too much to a standard Pokémon plot (the two that were really significantly different were Generations III (inclusion of two different teams conflicting each other) and V).

I think being able to be a member of whatever the evil team(s) is/are is a very smart thing for them to do. I hope that's their plan.
