Things change and sometimes not for the better. I think we all enjoyed them, but nothing stays the same, like Kodak. They inadvertently spelled their own doom. They invented the first digital camera, but delayed rolling it out,so their film sales would not suffer.

Zlinqx : That I can understand. Its sad that you don't own a ps2 or you would be playing the game like there is no tomorrow. '-'
I hope to get the game soon again to play it.

Oldschool777 : Yep that pretty much sums up everything. I knew of that but don't really often talk about it. @.@

My grandparents would never let me watch A Clockwork Orange which was rated 18,i was 14 when it finally got released after all those years of being banned,i watched it at a friend's house and found the film dated and nonsensical, and as an adult, still find it a dull overrated film, but i defied my grandparents to see it back in the day, what a waste of time

I probably did at least once sometime in my life. I don't really remember. I think it was Scary Movie 2, but other than that, I don't remember anything.

I did this a lot when I was a kid. Between my parents letting me watch movies I probably shouldn't have seen or watching them at friends houses on HBO, or movies from the video store I probably watched more movies than I like to admit that were out of my age range.

It happened several times. I "watched" (I did not have my glasses during that summer, so it was rather blurry) Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves at the drive-in theater although it was rated PG-13 but did not get trauma from it. I also watched True Lies way before I was 16. However I did not watch more hardcore movies like Robocop and Terminator, probably because my parents thought it was too violent. My sister got to see parts of them when she was at the oldest 13, and she thought it was too violent.

Jordanv78 : lol yeah that happened to me. It got to a point when they said no to them. But me and my siblings found a way to watch it lol.

janus : yeah terminator was one of those movies up there. And still love them till this day. Robin hood prince of thieves wasn't really what I liked I mean I saw the trailer of it, and that movie wasn't for me at all. So I didn't bother watching it. Thank goodness I didn't too from the way you are describing it. '-'

I would have to say I watched the Dawn of the Dead movie from 1978 when I was eight. This is a zombie film and I think was the first one I've seen. I came across this movie when my great aunt bought this (which I'm surprised she did because she hates violent movies) I think at a yard sale around 2004. She gave it to us (well to my brother). The front and back cover of the VHS caught my eye and was tempted to watch it. My brother did and I watched it with him. I was really creeped and completely grossed out at the end and was never the same. To be honest, I was never told that I couldn't watch R rated movies except with ones that have "you know what". I re-watched the film two years ago and it has become one of my favorite movies.

When I was in elementary school, my mom was very strict about which films I was allowed to watch. As such, I was completely unacquainted with "real world" subject matter outside of old Family Guy episodes (and she didn't even like those).

My dad however.....cared no nearly as much. He let me watch the newest Harry Potter movies and other recently released r-rated flicks. Eventually he even let me watch the Naked Gun movies and Monty Python's The Meaning of Life.  The surrealism gave me nightmares but I loved  it nonetheless and obsessed over re-watching them.

When I turned 11 my mom gave up and just let me watch whatever movie I wanted so long as I went with an escort for the more violent films.

CrimsonTHRAK : Oh I don't think I have seen that movie lol. And I think its best I don't considering what you just said about it. Its always good to be able to watch movies you can see so then you can enjoy that more. And without having to watch ones that will gross you out. '-'

IStillSeeTheX : Oh dear I see. But it seems you enjoyed watching it. So when that normally happens you end up rewatching it again no matter what. XD

My parents really didn't put a damper on what movies I watched or games I played up to PG-13/T.

They saw the age guide lines as just that:Guidelines.Nothing really stand out in my mine game-wise at the time, but as for movies that I remember there was......Uh, my memory really sucks, okay?So just off the top of my head, there's the Superman VS Doomsday movie, loved that, still have it.And technically the Star Wars prequel trilogy, but, come on it was really just a formality.Other movies and cartoons get away with way worse stuff than anything in those movies.

I remember seeing Saw III when I was younger, and it scared me quite a bit. Though now I enjoy it and love to see what happens when they fail the game.

Yes I was exposed to many of these movies as a child but they had little to no effect on how a behaved in general. I remember coming home on school and watching horror movies everyday and love seeing the reactions it made other people have XD. Fortunately I wasn't exposed to some crazy horror sci fi flick when I was younger now those affect my behavior in general as of today.

I have seen First Blood Part II more times than I could count as a kid (and as an adult). The first time, my parents did not approve, but after I saw it the first time, they figured it didn't matter after that since I already seen it.

In the movie department my parents were extremely lenient and let me watch anything I wanted (excluding "adult" films, but by 12 or 13 they no longer cared since I could just find it online). As a kid I stayed away from the really gruesome horror movies anyway, so they didn't care if I saw some violence or maybe a pair of boobs. Looking back I'm glad it was like that. In a way it helped me mature a little more quickly, being exposed to more mature content at a younger age. Any normal person or kid can tell the difference between movies and reality, so they weren't worried a movie would somehow corrupt my mind or anything crazy like that. They were the same way with video games, letting me play things like Grand Theft Auto from about the age of 10 or 11. As others before me have stated here, there are no regrets

I think most of us did.

And I still do, haha.

In fact, just a few weeks ago I watched the mad max films, some others that immediately come to mind are misery, halloween and a lot more.

When it comes to video games, I like to play some GTA now and then, and COD 2 is my favourite FPS of all time. There are also countless otehrs but those are the ones that come to mind immediately.

Oh yeah I forgot the dragon ball games, I played those when I was really young (4 to be exact) And I was just old enough to play them last year, haha.
