So if you may know there have been four blood moons in recent time (the fourth one tonight); apparently there is a prophecy that this signal the end times, LMAO. People where i live are drinking the kool-aid that this is the case but i think its just a load of crap. What do you guys think, do you think its real or crap?

People have been telling prophecies about the end times even before the end times were even a thing.

It's honestly all just looking for a reaction, or just really uneducated guesses.

The "prophecy" is true, but people are twisting it all kinds of ways. This tetrad is NOT what the prophecy talks about. The prophecy says the moon will become blood (blood is red, not orange, and "blood moons" are orange, not red. Common sense, amirite?) and the sun will become "black as sackcloth of hair" and "the stars fell unto the earth". *looks around* Yeeeeahhh...I don't see any of those things happening outside tonight. Am I looking at a different sky than them?

All of these Christians that don't study these prophecies before running around proclaiming how these things are being fulfilled are just serving to embarrass us all, and make us less credible in the eyes of everyone else.

What about the moon becoming blood? Well I believe it'll actually, ya know, become blood like the prophecy said. And even if it were figurative, who looks at the color orange and describes it as looking like blood? If your blood looks like THAT, you need to see a doctor ASAP. lol

The sun? Anyone see the sun becoming black? No? Me neither. It'll rise tomorrow just like it always has. That isn't talking about a solar eclipse, because a solar eclipse is nothing out of the ordinary, nor is a blood moon (or even a tetrad). I mean, giving us a sign of the end by making a perfectly ordinary thing happen would be inconsistent with the very idea of giving a sign. That would be like me saying "I'll send you a $50 check in the mail. As proof, I'll sleep tonight". :|

And the stars? Did the stars fall from the sky tonight? Did I miss that? *looks out of window* Nope, still there.

Finally, the prophecy says the moon became blood, not " the moon became blood four times in the space of a year".


And the only other prophecies that are anything like this are also being grossly misapplied. There is no reference to a tetrad ANYWHERE in the scriptures. The best anyone can do is misapply them or try to imply something that isn't actually written in the verse.


Now if you're talking about modern day prophecy, I put zero stock in that unless I know the person or am there and can confirm the proper spirit behind it as they make it. Anyone can say something and call it a prophecy. And a prophecy in any book besides the Bible, I again, put zero stock in. The Bible is the only record around that's prophecies have all been accurate so far, and whose prophecies that remain are setting up perfectly.

So the prophecy I believe, but I also believe these people don't understand it at all.

Not to mention that this 4 orange moons thing is supposed to happen 8 different times in this century so its not exactly rare.

Eirinn : I think all these modern prophecies are just to scare people into giving em their money. Look at Harold Camping, he convinced people the rapture was happening in 2011 and he convinced people to quit their jobs and sell everything including their houses and whats sad is that these people have kids too.

I do firmly believe that Harold Camping was clearly not a case for why a whole panic starts. Clearly you don't see a media stir things up, and even the politicians as well. Also, the internet media loves a huge dramafit. To say that one human is a sole cause for panic I have to say is silly. As Benjamin Franklin once said, "we shall all hang together or we shall all hang seperately". THis world should work together or fall apart, see. To blame one single unit? Laughable. Also, I think it was 2012 that that all happened...you may want to research your facts before you posts unless I need to.

manicman66 : Actually Harold Camping predicted the end several times, including three times (if I recall correctly) in 2011. The 2012 scare was over the Mayan calendar because it ended on 12/21/12. Guess nobody stopped to consider that perhaps they just stopped making the calendar go any farther than that, or they were destroyed before they could. People are so funny.

But yeah, easy mistake, man.
Also, yes, the media lives for drama. Everything is sensationalized and made much bigger than it should be.


tornadocam : Exactly. We cannot know the day nor hour, but we can see the signs and know "the season" as Jesus said. We were given the signs for a reason, but too many try to make it about predicting the day of the end. Just like I was saying in my post before this one, these people saying these things about the tetrad need to read their Bible for themselves and see what it actually says.


TristanTehGamer1 - As I said, I do believe in modern day prophecy, as I feel the Bible teaches us that it's real. Also I've heard prophecies go forth from people and I've seen those prophecies fulfilled.

However, when it comes to these publicized and sensationalized "prophecies" that you see in the news, yeah, all hype and fake. Also, never believe a prophecy that predicts the end of the world no matter who says it. As tornadocam pointed out, no one will know the day. Anyone who tries to say the end will be on a certain day instantly loses ALL credibility.

As for Camping, why did anyone think they needed to sell everything because the rapture was coming? I'm pretty sure God could take us whether we have a house or not. lol I sincerely hope it wasn't some sort of way to try to earn favor with God by donating to his so called ministry. That's the dumbest thing. Like God will take someone with Him in the rapture because they donated money. I seem to recall someone trying to buy power and favor from God in the Bible, and the words "Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money". Not verbatim probably, but you get the picture.

Wow so this is completely bogus. Eirinn said everything I really wanted to say so repeating it over would be quite useless. ONLY and ONLY God knows when the end of time will be. No matter if there is actually a Red moon and people are like the world will end tonight they will always be wrong because God is going to pick a day that nobody expects. Whether a true biblical prophecy is fulfilled or not humans will never have the power of knowing when the end of times will be. I think this is really all I have to say.

Eirinn : I love you for this post. First of all, the moon was Orange and black, not blood red. Second of all, I don't think that "the moon becoming like blood" meant that the moon turned orange four times in the space of a year. Plus there's a apoclypse scare every few years or so isn't there? Y2K, 2012, This moon thing, what's next? 

Anyways, I know that there will be signs, but honestly, I don't see any that have happened. No darkening of the sun, no red moon, no ocean becoming blood and everything in it dying...I take most "prophesies" people make nowadays with a good amount of salt. There's been a lot of false prophesy, it's always been that way. I am more willing to listen to some more trustworthy people than others. But all this fall of america/rapture/fall of western civilization/ beginning of the 7 years of tribulation predictions hold absolutely no credibility to me. Yes, there's going to be signs. But nobody is going to know the exact date.
