I've been on vizzed for over 5 years and realized I'm still a 'newbie' and figured that just wouldn't do, so I decided to get a little more active on the boards. The only problem with that is, I'm a very, very introverted person. Not to the point that I'm socially inept, but to the point that I don't usually go out of the way to start conversation... and that I completely get hermits.

I've also had some bad experiences when it comes to communicating with people in text. I joke around a lot and tend to be very sarcastic and that just doesn't translate well into text. I've actually had an online friend tell me they thought I was an angry person and have had some others think I hate them, which just made me want to flail around like an angry muppet. (just like this > http://tiny.cc/oosk3x )  But then, other people get along with me just fine and I've never had an issue with them. They et me, ya know? But it's the times that people didn't that stick with me the most and keep me from reaching out online.

So, now that I have those excuses up there as to why, even online, I'm such a recluse... I really have no idea how to continue with this without making it seem like some cheesy dating add "I'm Dazee (pronounced daisy), I like the color blue. The NES was my first gaming system. Sometimes, I think about gravy, but who DOESN'T think about gravy?" It's just something about seeing 'About Me' I think that makes me freeze up and take a way too serious, philosophical view on my life and end up really over explaining the messed up (but still comfy) place that is my head.

I'm not really expecting much, if anything from this post. If anything just some "Yep, I know how that is. Welcome to the crazy." I'm actually easy going. I'd like to think I'm friendly, it's just being social can wear me out. But yeah. That's me. Or at least part of me. And boy that all sounded more depressing than it should of. So, I'm going to end with a joke! (I'm so sorry)

Two fish are in a tank.
One looks to the other and says,
"Do you know how to drive this thing?"

(You're allowed to hate me for that, I won't blame you x3 )

Yep, I know how that is. Welcome to the crazy
Hello, Dazee. So glad you decided to post a bit, and hopefully you don't stop at ten posts and a Member rank, as I've seen a few of your posts around here so far, and they've been very interesting.

And not to be that person, but I actually do identify a lot with you on the staying to yourself. I post a lot online, and I'm friendly, but I'm not typically someone who will go out of their way to start a conversation, especially in person (I also, use, far too, many commas). I'm very shy in reality, but once I start talking I don't shut up.

And hermits are awesome. I love staying indoors and my favorite time is alone time. I can't stand being around someone constantly. Also I usually hate for company to drop in. Do I sound horrible yet? xD I promise I'm really a very nice person, I just like having my space!

But anyway, this is your dating ad introduction thread, not mine, so I'll shut up about myself for now.

So I read in another thread that you've always enjoyed games, despite not getting many as a kid because they rot your brain. What are some of your favorites? Also are you interested in all games, or just retro games?

And I found the fish joke hilarious by the way. xD

I'm always amazed at the jokes you can make on other languages. Too bad it cannot be translated to Spanish.

Well, it's not easy to start a conversation. It took me a lot of time to open up to the community as well, and even now I take like +5 minutes to write nearly all of my posts, because my head always make them sound not that good to other people.

I like being a hermit too. My parents chide me for that every now and then, but I just like it above many things. It probably stems from the fact that I have different tastes than my friends, which aren't interested in anime or retro games.

I'm also someone who is always joking, because I always see the funny side of things. I also fear that some people may consider I don't take anything seriously, but I know that's not true, I just have that happy-go-lucky personality.

You should try to open up to the community. Every member has its place: the wise, the dumb, the sane, the insane, the lazy, the spammer... You won't be rejected, that's for sure, and you can even get not only friends, but a group of fans that love how you are. So don't stop at 10 posts, keep it up to 100, then to 1000, and so on. You don't have to post like crazy, averaging 50 posts a month is more than enough to start with.

I find the title of this thread funny

I'm also an introverted person, I've always been a friendly person but I find it hard to start conversations with people in real life. I usually don't feel like it and when I do it I tend to forget some of what I was going to say. I also find it hard to become friends with people by consistently starting conversations with them. Most of my friends have started conversations with me most of the time, but there are a few that I've gotten by talking to them first often. One of them was a new student at my school this year, so now she feels welcome to the school

Even if you're not a very social person, it's a great idea to become a part of the Vizzed Board forums! We're very welcoming of users to the forums and using the forums are a great way to make friends here. Most of my friends here I met in the forums and talked to in the forums a lot.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. It's nice to know you're not alone. I knew I wasn't and there are people that feel or act the same way I do sometimes. But it's comforting when they go, "Here I am!" lol.

Eirinn : Ah yes, games, where to start. I'm interested in all games, my biggest interest in retro games is the fact that I missed out on so many growing up. On my NES my favorite were California Games and Bump n' Jump. I would also play Mike Tyson's Punch Out for hours but could never get passed the third guy. But I was only about 4 at the time, so that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. From the NES I didn't get another gaming system until the PlayStation where all I had at first was a sample disc with a few promo videos and some limited game play. What it did have though was almost the complete first level of Spyro the Dragon. So I saved up birthday and Christmas money until I could finally get the game (and a few months later my first memory card...) and it became a fast favorite. Then I started dating and was lucky enough to date another gamer and got introduced to things like Sly Cooper, Final Fantasy (FFX was actually the first one I ever played), The Legend of Zelda: Wind Walker. And this has become a long answer to list my favorites, lol. I also love Fable 2, Obscure 2, Rogue Galaxy, Rule of Rose, Saints Row 3 (and a bit 4), Minecraft, Unturned, the Guitar Hero series, Beyond Good and Evil, Psychonauts... I know there's more, just can't think of them off the top of my head.

And I completely understand about the company dropping by, especially surprise company. "We just thought we'd hang out for a bit!." But I had a whole day of nothing planned and I was really looking forward to it!

EX Palen : My mom can be on my case sometimes about it. I think she assumes that I'm not happy because if she was keeping to herself and not going out much it would mean she was depressed or something of that nature. I can't seem to make her understand that's just how I am and that's what I like doing.

PacmanandMariofan : I can be very friendly, and very chatty once you get me on the right subject. It's always just hard to test out the water, so to speak. I tend to be more of that person that is sitting there, listening to everyone else talk and then suddenly just has this small quip that makes everyone laugh... even if that's not what I was trying to do. At the same time though, I love making people laugh and/or smile.

I know what you're talking about. There are a lot of times in class where people are talking and I'm not. Out of nowhere I say something to them that makes them laugh. Most of the time I was making fun of troublemakers in my classes. At the time I loved correcting their logic XD

I like making people laugh but most of the time I try to, no one does. (except my friends and family )

Mike Tyson's Punch Out was a huge part of my childhood gaming! I also loved Super Punch Out on the SNES. I actually managed to beat that one, but since I was probably five when we had Mike Tyson's Punch Out I don't know if I ever beat anyone after Glass Joe. xD

Wind Waker was my first modern Zelda game, and as a whole I think it was good. I couldn't bring myself to finish the Triforce shard collecting though.

And does anything beat a day of staying home and doing nothing? I don't think that's possible.

So if I may continue bugging you with questions, what systems do you currently own? Also if you're here to play games you missed back in the day, I highly suggest Toejam & Earl (the first one, and especially with a second player), Wiz 'n' Liz, and Harvest Moon (especially Back to Nature and Friends of Mineral Town, or More Friends of Mineral Town if you want to play it as a girl character). Just thought I'd toss that out there. lol

zanderlex : Yep, you did that just right X3

Eirinn : More questions is perfectly fine. I currently have a DS lite, Dreamcast, PlayStation (as well as 2 and 3), an Xbox, Xbox 360, and a GBA somewhere... Most of my gaming is done on PC now, between this site and Steam. I have played some of the Harvest Moon games and I do love them. I like most video games really. Though not I'm not the most fond of fighters or fps.. I don't know if I don't care for them because I'm not good at them or I'm not good at them because I'm not fond of them, therefore I don't play them, lol. Are you more into the retro games? Or do you have some newer games that you like?

Yeah, I'm not a fan of fighters or FPS either, but I can play most any other genre, however I'm rather picky about RPG and Puzzle games.

I play modern and retro, but I prefer modern (a rare opinion on this site). As modern goes however, I unfortunately have little experience as until this past June I was roughly ten years behind due to various reasons. I now have a PS4, and with it I have four games, and I will have a Vita soon (I ordered it Saturday) and I have one game so far for it.

But for what experience I have with them, I think Knack and Batman: Arkham Knight are the best probably. And no, Knack wasn't a typo. I actually thoroughly enjoyed that game. lol Played it through six times, if I recall correctly.

I would love to have a PlayStation and PlayStation 3. I own two PS2s, and used to own a PlayStation until I stupidly sold it. I never had the pleasure of owning a PS3 however, but I plan to eventually. That and a PSTV.

A Dreamcast? That's awesome! I've never played it, but I'd like to. I always wanted one back in the day, but I never got to because we couldn't afford it.

And do you have a favorite Harvest Moon? I'm fairly certain that my favorites were obvious from my last post. [/ramble]

Hello there! It a while to do... Board stuff. I'm not very social, real-life or interwebs. Vizzed is actually the only site whose Board I frequent, so I'm starting to open up on the internet. My real social life is still, not the best. I have some good friends though. Back when I was still in school, they would drop by unannounced, and try to kidnap me (XD). I usually just convinced them to... Not, and they would get bored and leave. They started calling me hermit too. XD

And oh, my gosh, I'm glad there's someone else out there who likes Rogue Galaxy. No one I know of has even heard of it. I never finished it though. I get to the part where I can start catching Insectors, and just stop the main game... I've put, like, 100 hours of just doing Insector stuff, no joke. XD

It's actually nice to see how all these people responding have admitted to being introverts. They're pretty active on this Board, so I hope this also helps you to be more active (Well, if you'd want to, it's up to you.). I know it's helped me.

Uh... What's a good way to end this... Uh... Let's go with...

   Starr Power!!!

Wait, that just kind of promotes me... Uh...

   Girl Power!!!

Alright, this is getting weird now... Man, I still suck at social making words on computer for peoples... Yep... Bye! And welcome (Even though you've been here WAY longer than me.)!

Sorry for the shorter responses. I have a cold or something, so my concentration is... lacking.

Eirinn : I never would have guessed you liked Harvest Moon. You leave no hints to that at all, lol. My favorite Harvest Moon is actually the original, I played it for hours. For the longest time I didn't even know there were other ones. And you can bet once I found out I looked for them. And nothing wrong with modern games, a lot of them are great. Though I'm not sure the last 'Modern' game I played... Saints Row 4 probably.

I can be picky about my RPGs. They just have to have a certain feel to them for me to enjoy them it seems.

F. Starr : Rogue Galaxy is awesome. Though I think I found it from a "Great Games that didn't get good publicity" list. It sounded awesome. So I got it. I... don't think I finished it either. I got to almost the very end and pretty much did what you did. I tend to be a completionist when it comes to games, but then it gets a bit grindy, so I put it down to play something else to give myself a break and become really bad at pick it back up again.

Heh, yeah I still go back to the original from time to time as well. It has a certain charm to it in it's simplicity. Honestly I feel like Marvelous has taken it down a bad road, as their first game after taking over the series from Victor was A Wonderful Life which was an interesting take on the series, but far too long and the farming became tedious too quickly. It's my least favorite so far. The series as a whole just keeps straying farther and farther away. Hopefully now that it's split into two series (sort of) that changes.

Man I talk too much.

F. Starr : First off, only I am allowed to be that awkward (jk). Secondly, why girl power? What about me?? It's cool...I'm not hurt.

What? I *sniffle* I wasn't crying.

Welcome to the boards, Space Dazee! Sarcasm is one of the few lost arts of text isn't it? The NES was one of my first systems too. So...Go NES!

I hope you keep enjoying your time on Vizzed!

Eirinn : From the depths of the deepest caverns, from the top of the most highest of mountains, we shall not be silenced. From the youth to the elderly, we shall not be ignored. Regardless of gender, regardless of race, we shall NEVER be forgotten!!

 VIZZED POWER!!!       *cue explosions*

(There, that should cover everyone here... Wait, if I leave it like this it could be considered a spam post... Uh... Relevance...)

Rogue Galaxy! Yeah, I've kind of picked up the habit of seeing games in the store, reading the front and back, and despite not knowing anything about it, if it interests me, I'll buy it. I've found tons of really great games that way, like, Rogue Galaxy. All my friends think I'm crazy for spending money on something I don't know anything about, but, more often than not, I find a really good game. I've yet to return a game.

It's more satisfying (to me), to pick up an unknown game, and find out it's great (Baten Kaitos), than it is to buy a game, knowing what it's about, and that I'm pretty sure I'll like, and then don't (Front Mission: Evolved), but that's just me.

   Man, I type a lot...

A user of this : Thanks for the welcome. I've certainly been enjoying the boards so far. And yes, the NES is awesome

Eirinn : Pfft, you don't talk too much. It's just obviously something you're passionate about/interest in. I remember playing A Wonderful Life. I'm pretty sure I liked it (it's been awhile) But yeah. I don't think I remember much, if any of the actual farming, lol. Yeah. I think companies always want to add something new to their games (of course) so it doesn't feel like the exact same game as before, but sometimes they ended up taking out or completely messing up what made the game so great in the first place. I know several games that have a series and I might like the first and even second one, but then not care for the other ones going forward.

F. Starr : Vizzed Power should never be considered spam! *lights up fireworks to add to the explosions*

But to still add relevance... just in case...

I've picked some games like that myself. Beyond Good and Evil was that game for me. I didn't really know anything about it before I bought it and now I keep getting so excited/heartbroken when they keep announcing (then canceling) the second one.

Space_Dazee : Oh, my gosh, that was the worst. How can they make such an amazing game like Beyond Good and Evil, then not realize how great it is, then many years later, talk about making the long awaited sequel, and then scrapping it? So many people were mad about that, like us.

My favorite part has to the Jamaican Rhinos. XD

"When your mamma won't go, you know, Mamma-go Garage, you go!"

EDIT: Just realized I don't really need to summon you to your own thread. XD

Yeah, I understand a series changing up, but I hate when it forsakes it's roots. HM feels more like a social simulation than a farming simulation now. It's still fun, I just prefer the first one, 64, BtN, and FoMT's design.

But yeah, updates are sometimes a bit too radical, but they are needed. But I shall now quit talking. Maybe I'll see you around the forum and I can blabber a bit more then. But remember what you have learned here: never talk to me about games (especially Harvest Moon) unless you are ready for a lot of replies and many words.

Oh and I gotta ask: did the other fish know how to drive a tank? lol

Hello, I'm glad you decided to post and get that member status. Anyways, what NES games are your favorites? Could it be the Mario ones, Metroid, Zelda, or something completely different?

I find it ironic that the title says you can't come up with something snappy, yet the title is now funny because of that. Life's funny sometimes.

Anyways, welcome 5 years late haha! I hope to see you around the forums, we need more people who can come up with non-snappy snappy titles!
