What can be said about this game that is 30 years old that has not already been said? Well let's start with what it is first. What it is, the game that came bundled with the original Nintendo System and helped launched the company from making toys to being the biggest name in gaming. So what exactly is Super Mario Brothers? It is one of the greatest action platforms of all time. It introduced us to characters that would be a staple to Mario games for ever. Characters like goombas, paratroopas, koopas, a Princess named Peach (Toadstool) and forever Mario rival King Koopa (Bowser). So let's get on to the heart of my review the scoring system and take a look at why I gave it the scoring numbers I did.

   Difficulty 8: I gave it an 8 cause even though it starts off easy in the later stages it does get pretty challenging to get through some of the levels. And during the final castle it is literally a maze trying to get through. I can't tell you how many times I've died in the last castle trying to get to Bowser. The controls of the game aren't really hard to learn. You have a button for jump and a button to run. That's it. Basic controls from a really fun game.

   Depth 9: I gave it a nine. Why? Cause it deserves it. Yeah the level themes tend to repeat along with the enemy types. But to me I never got tired of it. It was and still a lot of fun to go through the game 30 years later.

   Story 8: The story basically is the stalwart knight fighting a dragon and saving the damsel in distress. In this case the white knight is Mario the dragon in question is Bowser and our damsel is Princess Toadstool (Peach).

   Addictiveness: 10: I wish I could rate this higher then a 10. I really do. It is a game that is still so fun to sit down and play through 30 years later. I totally recommend if you have not played it to sit and play it. I guarantee that once you do you will not stop playing it.

   Sound 10; Again like before I wish I could rate the sound a lot higher then a 10. I really wish I could. The sound is amazing to listen to. From the now famous Mario's Theme to the music that plays in the boss castles. Its all there and it is worth listening to.

   Graphics 10: Also wish it could be higher then a 10. The game is 30 years old. But it still holds up graphically to other games better then a lot of games to day that are say 5 or even 10 years old. It is truly a great game to look at. It always will be a great game to look at.

   Overall 9.9:  Overall to me this game is perfect. It holds up really well today as it did when it first came out. Its a blast to still be able to sit down and play it even to day. I absolutely recommend playing this game for the first time ever or for the first time all over again.
