30 might be a bit too high, maybe 15 would be the best. I think 10 might be too low for something that only has 1.

JClip1366 : I'm not sure if that will work. We need to see what trophies you earned in the last week, something not easily seeable on that site. Eirinn has the last call, though, but I would like to know why we cannot find you on psnprofiles.com, which is the site we all use for this contest.

Eirinn : I have a suggestion, and its just my opinion. I'll try not to confuse anyone here, but here is my thought...

Since I haven't played very many different games on my PS4 yet ( I think so far I have only played a total of 9 ) I still have a pretty good idea on just how many bronze, silver, and gold trophies there actually are. As of right now, I've almost either completed the games that don't have a platinum trophy to 100% or I have obtained the platinum trophy for the games that do have one.

And with that said, I currently have 227 bronze trophies which is more than twice as many silver trophies I have. I have 89 silver trophies which is about 3 times as many gold trophies I have. So in retrospect, I think silver trophies should count about 2.5 times as much as bronze trophies, and gold trophies should count about 3 times as much as silver. I have also read that a bronze trophy gets you 15 points, a silver trophy is 30 points, a gold trophy 90 points, and a platinum trophy 180 points.

So if we tallied the score in this competition in similar fashion to Playstation's trophy points system, then I think the point values for us should be something like this:

Bronze = 1
Silver = 2
Gold = 6
Platinum = 12

But like I said, its just my two cents on the matter.

MattyIce : Ah yes, I see where you got that information from ( PlayStation Forums ) and if not, then it was a post from somewhere else in relation to this one.

It would make sense to use the same point system as Sony does for this competition for the Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum trophies. Even though their point system for each trophy ranges from 15 - 180, we could use a more simplified system that is still equal to Sony's system ( like the one MattyIce considered ). Also, if we were to add bonus points for Rarity or Completion for the non-Platinum games, then I feel the points should be in between the Gold and Platinum trophies ( would be 9 points using MattyIce's system ).

MattyIce : Really? Good catch, man. I never knew there was such a system. I wonder if we should stick with ours and appropriate it accordingly, or just adopt the scoring system entirely and overhaul the competition scoring from here on out.


Kruzer : I agree, if PlayStation has set forth a score guide it only makes sense for us to use it. And as for the games without platinum getting a 100% bonus, I'm still game for it on a smaller scale than Platinum. It could be between Gold and Platinum values, or just a Gold value. I do agree with the general consensus here that it shouldn't be worth a Platinum since there is a reason most games without a Platinum have no Platinum, but it's also true that 100%ing such games still takes special effort. I would be fine with gauging that by rarity or however we want, but only if we can get enough people on board with it.

And see, the difficulty of getting Platinum and the rarity both were reasons I initially set it a 40 points (but reduced it's value before posting it), but also consider that on the way to getting that Platinum, you're also getting several Bronze, Silver and Gold trophies. And since the Platinum isn't for an accomplishment of it's own, but rather a reward for completing several other accomplishments that each gave you a reward already, and it could be argued that it shouldn't be rewarded with quite as many points as it's rarity and difficulty might indicate. That's just what I've tossed around in my thoughts on it, whether it's the right way to look at it or not I can't say.

This will surely be my best week in centuries lol. I got more trophies than I expected, but I doubt if I should aim for more or stick to the gameplay for a bit. The remaining trophies are tedious, and I'm aiming for some rewards to progress in the game.

Well, I had a couple good weeks but ended up 6th overall for the month which isn't really too good for me but I have been playing Black Ops 3 just for fun and haven't really paid much attention to trophies. It's going to be even worse for January because there was one week during this month that I didn't earn a single trophy Here are my overall results from Dec 21st - Jan 31st:

However, this week will be pretty damn good. I've already gotten 1 Platinum ( Dead Nation: AE ) in the beginning of the month and I'm lining up for a second Platinum ( The Last of Us: Remastered ) that I plan on obtaining by the end of the week. Not only that, it's very possible that I could get 2 ( or maybe 3?? ) more Platinums by the end of the month. That would be awesome! Hopefully, I'll start posting my weekly results on a regular basis from now on.

Well, I've officially run out of trophies I can earn in my only PS4 game, so until I get a new one I won't be able to score any points in here.

Still, I'm not disappointed by my numbers. I've run a search of trophies for the next games I could obtain, and I fear they won't give me the same results. Let's hope not, but I won't know for sure until I actually get them.

Eh. I probably won't be able to do much now, gonna have to take a break since I don't have games that I can play.

If I'm not mistaken, I got a few from PS4 games that I play at my friends house. They are these 3 Bronze from Dec 24th, January 30th and 31st.




I have like 10 PS4 games but am not allowed to hook up my PS4, so for now I will be limited to the free Vita games.

EX Palen : Aw no, man. :/ Well I know how the wait between getting new games is in a way, I only get one every four or five months lately, but the PS+ games tide me over so I hardly notice. Also that recent flash sale actually helped me net several games for $20, so again, I'm good for a little while. Hopefully I can get that HDTV before I run out of games. I've been running my PS4 through an HDMI/AV convertor and playing 1080p games at 480p. It makes for super blurry text and a lot of image quality loss.


zanderlex : I recently noticed that I've only been tracking your RichardHeaton(?) account. Don't you have a separate account for your PS4? What is it again? And can you link me to it's trophy log?

I'm currently in the process of updating the rules here to include the psnprofiles link as a requirement as it's easier to track than just the actual PSN account like I originally used.


Kruzer : Oh did I forget to mention the new rule that said you can't earn three platinums in a month? lol jk Of course. If you do that you're likely to dominate the month man. I won't be getting any platinums as all of my new games lack a Platinum. I am popping a lot of trophies lately though, so it makes up for things.
