So after my last fail at attempting to make that life style change I decided to try again. This was after four people called me fat in one week. Thank you jerks for the motivation I needed by the way. I want to be able to show people one day how fat I was. Most of all I realized I will end up being the crazy old animal hoarding fat lady. That no one would  want  if I don't take care of myself. I realized a long time ago that this battle with my weight was one I had to do alone. Because at the end of the day if I do not want or do not have the drive to be healthy for myself  no one else can ether.  Anyway so after listening to a lot of people give me their work out stories and how they did things I figured out why I hurt myself the first time. It was because I was working out the same muscles three days in a row. When I said in my first thread I really had no idea what I was doing I wasn't lying. I now split them. Starting with leg day, core day, and arm day. Working out the major parts of my body.  I was told to focus them  first. I also changed my diet. I am doing nutritional drinks for breakfast and lunch with a light snack in between like a protein bar, yogurt, or peanuts.  To be followed by whatever I want for dinner then hit the gym. Now in only four days I have noticed HUGE changes.

1. I am not starving yet I cut my calorie intake by a lot.

2. I have way more energy.

3. The best part of my day is the gym.

4. I am sore and I like it.

5. I feel great not only mentally but physically.

6. I am already two times stronger than I was four days ago.

Yes I know its only been four days but this is the longest I have ever lasted since I was 17 and it is so refreshing this is how I know I am in it for the long hall that I made it past that three day mark. I will keep you guys updated as my journey progresses.

I would like to maybe give you advice, but I don't know how tall are you and how much you weigh. Anyway, don't tell me. It is not my business. No matter, fatty foods are addictive. They make you think you are hungry when you really are not. Same with sugar. Eat regularly but eat fruits and vegetables but with sane amount of protein. Do light excersise and keep that up. You can lose weight instantly by working out excessively and eating too little but doing that you are just going to wear yourself out and what you lost, you gain back in an instant.

You seem to have a good thing going but take it easy is what I mean. Doing too much too soon will get you nothing.

You are awesome!

Make sure you stretch properly after you work out, that'll help prevent repetitive strain injuries. Post-work out stretches should be slowing and help longer that a "warm up" routine.  If find that the stretching part really improves balance and gives you a nice warm fuzzy feeling.

One thing, I don't think you should find your motivation because people called you fat... it should simply be internal, you want to work out because YOU want to be more healthy, not so that you "fit in" with what people think is attractive. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Yay! Go lily!
Come over and have some celebration cake! Oh wait...

Come over, I'll eat the cake, but we can still hang out and celebrate!
Don't over do it at the gym.
Like LK said, make sure you have a pre and post-workout stretch.

Ultimately, you have to choose what to do and not to do, but you aren't completely alone...we're all here to encourage you and help you .

Before I answer everyone I would like to share that I did twenty minutes on the elliptical. Which I was so proud of myself I teared up a little bit. To most people that is nothing but when I first started out I could barely survive ten minutes on that evil machine. I managed to get to ten easily and was thinking well awesome I didn't start to struggle until fifteen then pushed through the last five. My goal is to be able to do an hour but improve by five minutes at a time.

Light Knight : Thank you. Your post really made me smile. I am not going to lie I got my sorry butt to the gym the first two days because of what they said. But now it is SOO much more than that. I am doing this for me because I want to start loving myself and look at the mirror and be proud of who I am. As for the stretching. I will try that before tomorrows work out. I haven't stretched yet even though I know I should. I will have to google  different ones seeing I haven't done that since I was in high school. I will let you know how it goes.

Vanelan : Really cake?? Maybe not cake but you could make me a chocolate chip cookies. Or even better we can play a game together that involves a character  eating cake. A game that I do not die a lot in would be nice. An thanks for being there so when I am feeling down I will come over and Deedlit and me can cuddle the night away.

There was a chef that lost about 300 pounds because his friend texted him "fat ****" every day for six weeks. Say what you want about bullying, it's effective for certain people. I was never bullied but I was out of shape and wanted female attention, so I turned my life around in my teenage years. I wouldn't even call my old self fat, just out of shape. Since then I have been regularly exercising and am in pretty remarkable shape for someone pushing 30.

Point is, regardless of your motivations, everyone getting fit is pushing towards the same goal: self-improvement. Something that helped me, something that was always in my mind was knowing that I could do better. When I thought about eating something I thought "People with six pack abs don't do that" and then I wouldn't. I knew what I wanted and I knew I could get it.

If willpower isn't your forte, I have some advice that helped me. Drink 2 cups of water before you eat, that will make sure you don't pig out. Also, gum. Eat tons of gum. When you have gum in your mouth, you can't just grab a few chips from the bag. By the time you've spit it out and your mouth isn't minty anymore you've forgotten about those chips. I found this to be a surprisingly effective strategy. Also, look at nutrition facts. Those daily values may not apply to everybody, but just knowing the fat contents of some food was enough to repulse me from some of the things I used to eat.

Remember, if you don't think you have time to go to the gym, if you are just too busy one day, you always have five minutes. Get on the ground and do some crunches, some leg lifts, get yourself active. Workouts don't have to last an hour. Cardio workouts may take awhile, but you can always go really hard for 5 minutes and get a good burn. Anything is better than nothing.

Also, do some research. There are workout websites all over the Internet that will help you make plans, there are programs that let you input what food you ate and they will tell you what you should be eating for someone of your height and weight, and there are websites that will help you get the motivation you need.

In this day and age there are few good reasons to stay out of shape. If you can do it, and you want it well enough, you can have it all for yourself. I and everyone on Vizzed have got your back
