All right, Metroid: Other M is one of the most bashed up Metroid games ever. Why? For once, nintendo decided to switch things up a bit. The only major flaw in this game is not the story, but the major change of the protrayal of Samus's character. It is definitely a far shot from the norm and quite unexpected. The story for once actually involves many elements and suspicion. Which is absolutely a nice change. I dare you to bring your complaints against this widely hated game, or else say why it was good. Because I really just want to know what everyone says, and have a chance to raise the good points of the game.

I, for one, love the game. I love it for one of the reasons most hate it... the way Samus was portrayed. One of the bigger areas of complaint is when she I also enjoy her relationships with Adam & Anthony. It made them two of my favorite characters.

Surgiac : I agree with you 100% on that account! Everyone thinks that part is so horrible, but it for once put some suspense into a metroid game. In most of the other games, I will yawn every now and then because I know that I am the most powerful thing ever. No matter what comes around, I can easily destroy it! Metroid Other M actually offers a game that can get your heart pounding, as you really do not know what is going to happen next. One thing people sometimes complain about is the lack of originality in the enemies. They claim that too often, they use all the same enemies and bosses from before. Duh! It's metroid...a franchise! They like to bring back the old enemies in their games! I did not hear anyone complaining about super metroid or fusion because you see a lot of enemies from before! Why do they complain about it here. I think it is just another lame excuse for people to hate on something that did not turn out exactly like the metroid prime games. But perhaps I am wrong on this.

Well so far it seems that everyone here likes the way Samus Aran was characterized. i do as well, it being one of my favorite parts of the game. i love the graphics, suspense, and the twists that all play into each other very well. this game is still on top of my favorites list because of these qualities. and even though people think samus was an emotionless killer in the previous games, that is just an assumption because in the majority of the games you are not inside her head to hear her thoughts. if you read the actual manga, it shows that she is actually very emotional, and not in a bad way. she just cares for people a lot, yet still has a kickass 'lets get this done' attitude overall and thats what most players see in the previous games. early in the story(manga) before her Zero Mission, she actually had planned on sacrificing herself for her friends, hence the reason why she was alone in Zebes in her Zero Mission. emotionless killer? no, i think not. and i have many other facts that contradict the negative points about Other M but for the sake of shortening this ill keep them to myself

This is one game that I really wish I could try. I heard all of the negative feedback it got, but none-the-less I really want to try it. The only thing I think that they shouldn't have done, they shouldn't have made her that soft. She killed an entire Species, you would think that she would be a little colder than that.

darthyoda : Just because she eliminated an entire species...or even planets...does not necessarily mean that she is a cold-hearted killer. But rather a soldier...dedicated to protecting those around her. This protection instinct is bound to come with feelings. She has a vengance to take out against ridley, the space pirates, and the metroids. They all are responsible for the death of her parents. Not only that, but the federation helped resurrect them in this game, after all were eliminated. This proves to be quite a surprise...considering she destroyed an entire planet. Not only that, but I think a lot of people miss the fact that a considerable amount of time had passed from the destruction of zebes and the rest of this story. A lot of people also believe her to be heartless almost just because they never saw her feelings before. No other game actually tried to let you see things as she sees them. It is especially awesome if you can unlock hard mode!
