Well everyone knows our beautiful 6 Pokemon regions. Well there is one that fans hate the most, Unova. Well many people says it wasn't creative, its Pokemon suck etc... like a garbage Pokemon, a pringle one. Well Unova isn't THAT bad. Plus, I love the storyline in Pokemon Black and Whit and its sequel. Well Unova is my least favorite region but it doesn't mean that I hate it right? Well Unova is a good region. Do you guys like Unova? Tell me in the replies ![]() Well everyone knows our beautiful 6 Pokemon regions. Well there is one that fans hate the most, Unova. greenluigi : Without a doubt, Unova is one of my favorite regions, though I don't really have much of an opinion on the Pokemon there. I love the region itself. I really liked Castellia city when the games first came out and thought they were one of the best built cities in all of pokemon, of course, before X and Y. I really liked Nimbasa City and all of the features that this city had, and my favorite place was Join Avenue, which has to be my favorite feature of any of the Pokemon games. I also really like the Team Plasma story, they are my favorite team and I feel that they are the darkest as well. I actually really liked the Unova region as well. It had some great cities, and great min-games Like Zanderlex, I really like join avenue The story line for the first black/white is also among my favorites in the series It seems to me the biggest complaint people had with gen 5 was the pokemon While I admit some of them were pretty dumb (looking at you trubish) some were pretty cool I absolutely loved Snivy/Serperior. Volcarona was really cool. Zoroark was amazing, and I actually like Chandelure I liked that they included more dual ghost types in general (I'm a big fan of ghost) All in all, it was a good region. greenluigi: I agree with you WHOLEHEARTEDLY. I apologize for the caps, but the fifth generation receives a LOT of unnecessary hatred from the Pokemon community, and it's driving me nuts. I am personally getting fed up with the "garbage" and "ice-cream" Pokemon jokes about generation five floating around the internet - it's really getting old. Thanks to the image that the hateful Pokemon fans gave to generation five, lots and lots of people who could have enjoyed it turned it away due what they were being told about it - biased crap. I find that the fifth generation, especially the Black and White games, brought a truly gripping story to the franchise for the first time ever. Don't get me wrong - I simply adore the other generations, and the fifth one isn't even my favorite! - but there is no denying that the others' stories were rather ordinary when compared to the whole "truth versus ideals" thing that Black and White introduced. I felt connected to the characters in these games far more than any others so far, and to quote NintendoFanFTW, "it introduced some of the most inventive things in the series so far". I liked the fact that the music shifted once a Gym Leader sent out his or her final Pokemon to match the intensity of the fight and remind you of what was put on the line. It was a unique addition, in my opinion. Plus, I am getting sick of every single website that thinks they're Pokemon know-it-alls posting the exact same theories every time they make a "Best Pokemon Theories" article - is Ditto a failed Mew clone? Is Voltorb a possessed Poke Ball? Was there a war in Kanto? The theories are interesting once you first read them, but the fact that they're featured EVERY time you see a "Best Pokemon Theories" article gets pretty boring. One new theory that generation five introduced that actually captured my attention was the Striaton Trio being the Shadow Triad theory. I continue to wonder why it never shows up in any articles. Perhaps because every non-Pokemon site I know always writes about the old stuff for some undetermined reason? Could be. Another reason I liked the fifth generation was N. N remains, to this day, one of the most complex, if not THE most complex, Pokemon characters of all time. At first, he appeared to be a villain, but it was revealed that he was merely Ghetsis's puppet, and he was truly good on the inside - just manipulated for his powers. He had the ability to communicate with Pokemon, and you play an important role in shaping his decisions and beliefs throughout the game. I won't say more - I don't want to spoil it. Anyway, I really am happy that SOMEONE made a thread like this. Long live generation five! Oh, and to quote something I read on the internet a few days ago... "Dear Mr. Genwunner and Mr. Newgenner, All of the Pokemon are awesome, And I hate both of you." Unova does get the unneccesary hate, but now some of it has shifted to Kalos because it is the newest region, and this of course means it is horrible and the the Pokemon are uncreative, etc. Mainly the hate stemmed from it being new, and all of the genwunners and fanboys of the previous Generations believed that nothing after the such can be good. The only problem here is Unova gets the short end of the straw and the hate continues. Unova was a spectacular region in my opinion, roster, gym leaders, Legendaries, the storyline, almost everything about Gen V is lovable to me. It continues to be my favorite, followed by Johto, and I honestly can't understand the hate that continues to get thrown at it. ![]() ![]() |

Unova is very underrated indeed. I agree with baileyface544's opinion since I think the same way as well. Some of the Pokemon look rather junky and unnecessary to me but there are also some Pokemon that I really like as well. I really like Tepig, Blitzle, the three elemental monkeys also known as Pansear, Panpour, and Pansage, Scraggy, Archen, Axew, Rufflet, Hydregion, Deino, and Zekrom. I also like how in this region that the Elite 4 has unique and challenging type Pokemon or at least in my opinion, Team Plasma has a good story and good outfits, there are more than one leader in Plasma (Ghetisis = the really evil dictator and N = the not seemingly so evil type of villain), and how N has a legendary Pokemon to go up against you. Unova does have some of its unique qualities and gameplay like the rest of the regions but most people are either too slow to realize that, they're in a fog, or just don't want to admit it since they bandwagon. I personally loved Unova, the only thing I don't like was a user error, I got white instead of black(-:Well, and I got Tepig.
But seriously, the cities are great, Reshiram looks flipping awesome, Zekrom looks sweet, they both have really cool attacks, and other than Tepig, the starter evolutions are amazing! Serperior and Samurott... Not to mention that Team Plasma has one of the most realistic(I know, pkmn, not realistic, but...) story lines in my opinion, and N is a great character. Then there's Bianca and Cheren, always a pleasure! And the ferris she'll, that's the best part ever. Ever. Ever. Except for one thing. One thing that made it the best region ever created. The combination of my two absolute favorite types. HYDREIGON!!!!! ![]() Image upload: 257x196 totaling 24 KB's. greenluigi : Remind me, why do people hate Unova? It did so many things right! Hidden abilities, the Chandelure line (at least to me), a huge post game, the best move tutors, and you get the opportunity to fight every gym leader and champion in BW2! |

Gen V happens to be my favorite generation for a few reasons. The first one being how fresh and inventive the games were. The second being the music and the overall look of the Unova region, and the main reason is the plot. There were a lot of cool features of the games as well, although I still would have liked Pokemon to follow me around.. |

I love how this generation started to make TMs have unlimited uses like HMs. It makes my life so much easier and rewarding for me to use TMs on my Pokemon to create their own movesets. Way better than spending a couple thousands of Pokedollars just for 1 TM. |

I really like unova to be honest, a lot of the pokemon are pretty cool like Haxorus, Hydreigon, Chandelure, and more. I also like the many changes that Black and White brought about to change the games like poison not affecting you outside of battle, and also tms being more like hms. I like a lot of the pokemon there, the graphics are great, and the changes that these games brought were all for the best. I feel like a lot of people are just so attracted to either gen 1 or gen 3, and they just bash the other gens because some of the pokemon might look weird, or they just can't get over their liking for the older gens. I happen to like all generations of pokemon in one form or another, some more than others, but I still like each one in its own way, and for the most part I can agree that Unova received a lot of unnecessary hatred. |

Gen 5 was interesting for the following reasons 1.) n was a interesting character (who I swear is a lost death note character) 2.) it was the only region( besides Kanto) with entirely new Pokémon( until you beat it)) meaning you actually have to consider the new Pokémon instead of relying on older ones and 3.) a good chunk of their Pokémon not only look interesting but have interesting concepts behind them ( I even have a little theory about garbodor and vanniluxe) 1.) n was a interesting character (who I swear is a lost death note character) 2.) it was the only region( besides Kanto) with entirely new Pokémon( until you beat it)) meaning you actually have to consider the new Pokémon instead of relying on older ones and 3.) a good chunk of their Pokémon not only look interesting but have interesting concepts behind them ( I even have a little theory about garbodor and vanniluxe) |
