I was wondering, how many users of vizzed like on-going franchises? I have heard several say that they don't like franchises like Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, and so on; but what about those players, what games do they like? Okay so I am restricting this to games that are on-going, NAMELY GAMES FROM FRANCHISES RELEASED IN THE PAST 10 YEARS, they MUST be from a franchise, please give me the game, and the franchise. Okay, don't criticize other's game/franchise choices, and follow all rules on vizzed. If the game will be made into a franchise the game does qualify. Games classified as "franchises" are games in a series, more than just a couple of games, but they must be from the same game universe, games like Star Wars Battlefront, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic are two different franchises. I personally like Star Wars Battlefront II, and Need for Speed: Underground. I have been playing Need for Speed for 9 or so years, I have been playing Star Wars Battlefront for almost 3 years. The games are awesome, (not the best graphics) but good story, fun game-play, and smooth controls, and good replay value. If the game will be made into a franchise the game does qualify. My favorite franchises would be: First, the "Legend of Zelda", from which "LoZ: Twilight Princess" is my guilty pleasure (seeing as the game had a darker atmosphere than the rest of the series). Second, the "Tom Clancy's: Splinter Cell" franchise, my favorites of the lot being "Splinter Cell: Conviction" for the action oriented style (latter half of the series), if only because the multiplayer split-screen was better IMO. The first half's favorite would be "Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory", which is probably the best rated and most popular entry in the Xbox titles, with reason. The last franchise I'd like to share is "Dead Space". Albeit very, and I say VERY gory, it's undoubtedly a fun, story-driven adrenaline pumper... And self proclaimed horror game, although I'm the last person able to judge if a game is scary or not. My favorite entry was the last game, Dead Space 3, albeit having to boot it from EA's crappy Origin Launcher (I'm still mad at it for switching the save directory on it's own and nearly giving me a heart-attack thinking all my progress vanished). Hope I didn't ramble on too long! First, the "Legend of Zelda", from which "LoZ: Twilight Princess" is my guilty pleasure (seeing as the game had a darker atmosphere than the rest of the series). Dark souls is really cool,I also like soul caliber and street fighter. The final two kinda repeat in their new games. dark souls is fun because it is hard and dark. |

One of my favorite franchises would have to be the Assassin's creed series. They offer lots of collectible items, different weapons, ways to attack, and they mix it all up with some historical fiction. It's definitely a series that I would recommend getting into. More recently, they are adding a co-op mode. Can't wait |

Ok, so Minecraft is eliminated. But my FAVORITE video game franchise is Pokemon. Pokemon is life. ._. Without Pokemon, the world wouldn't be quite as cool as it is right now. Mainly because you'll never have two playthroughs the same, I really like this series. My favorite game is definately Heart Gold and Soul Silver. I also really like Final Fantasy, for mostly the same reasons as Pokemon. |

darthyoda : I personally am a huge fan of Metroid:Other M. I feel that thisgame has received much undue criticism and as a result, I will not be seeing another one like it. Their next one will probably end up being like the prime games. (I hope they at least make it more like prime three) Overall, Metroid is a very cool franchise. What other game lets you curl into a ball and drop bombs? Where else can you shoot missiles from your arm? I also love the them of fighting space creatures. Although I think that they could expand on the space theme--like Super Mario Galaxy almost. So far I've played Zero mission, Super Metroid, Fusion, I beat the entire Prime Trilogy, and Other M in hard mode. I am so on edge waiting for the next one! |

Spyro franchise is my favorite franchise of all time, because Spyro games are my childhood games and the gameplay in all of them is great. I have all of the Spyro games for Playstation 1 and 2. That is how big fan I am of the Spyro franchise. because Spyro games are my childhood games and the gameplay in all of them is great. I have all of the Spyro games for Playstation 1 and 2. I for one, do like the on-going franchise. It would be disappointing to find a great game like metroid and never see the next one (though that may happen thanks to all the people who whined about the Other M title.) Obviously, I enjoy the metroid franchise. Why? Not exactly sure, there is just something about exploring alien environments and shooting up space creatures that I really like. I have recently found and begun to enjoy the megaman franchise. I really would like to see a 3d on this one--on the wiiU--I might add. Megaman overall is just pretty tough for me to beat, and don't ask me why. I have heard a lot of people say that it was all too easy. But for me, it's hard; and since I have been getting better at video games, it's refreshing for me to find a challenge. Another one of my favorite franchises is PacMan! Especially when it comes to the 3d arcade platform games. They always have a good story for you, and it's one of the few games that still gives you a life limit and score. (Except for the first installment of the Pac man and the ghostly adventures, that is. I'm also a fan of all the Transformers games that have been coming out. I own four of them, and I just think that they are so awesome. |

I like Mega Man 9/10 of the Mega Man franchise. There's a certain charm to these games. Maybe it's the addicting game play. Maybe it's the great premise. I'm not really certain why, but i love that franchise. There's a certain charm to these games. Maybe it's the addicting game play. Maybe it's the great premise. My favorite would be Assassin's Creed series because there's so much you can do. For example you can try to find those collectible items or do some side quests like assassinate someone of run against time place A to B. |

My favourite franchise is the Mass Effect franchise. I've been playing games for over 20 years, but that was the first game I played that I really loved. The wonderful characters and the depth of the universe that had been created really drew me in. I love the gameplay as well. Maybe not so much in the first game, but as the series progressed, it got so much better. The different array of weapons, the biotic abilities (and my personal favourite, biotic explosions) really make slaying your way through the geth, collector, cerberus and reaper forces a lot of fun. They're the only games that I never get sick of and all of the dlc and dialogue options (for me at least) give the games great replay value. Another franchise I adore is Dragon Age. Again, the characters, story and the world of Thedas is so great and I love jumping into the game again. I can't wait until Dragon Age: Inquisition. The final franchise I love is Tomb Raider. Lara Croft is such a great character and I loved the reboot. It was so gritty and intense, an awesome origin story. Rise of the Tomb Raider can't be released fast enough. darthyoda : That is actually a hard question to answer because I've played through the first and the second game in the series, and I think both of them are very good. If I had to choose one of them it might be the second one, because it was a bit more exciting than the first one in my opinion. (I also own Assassin's Creed Revelations and Assassin's Creed 3 but I haven't got any time to play them yet.) |

I like Castlevania, almost the entire franchise is wonderful to, except for those gameboy games. I enjoy it because the atmosphere just draws in with its music and environments that look so beautiful. Enemies are based off creatures from various parts of different mythologies, which I love. Boss fights are incredibly well done, with the classic castlevania games especially giving a feel of satisfaction when you kill them. The theme of exploration in the metroidvania games just gives me a sense of wonder of what will I discover in that unexplored corner of the map. I love how the metroidvania gave the whole franchise a lot more depth. I mean if you look at the major entries in the franchise you can tell that they were trying to give the games more depth than just walking towards the exit while killing enemies with your whip and subweapons. I even like Lords of Shadow, mostly because of the story I think is better told than the usual castlevania fare. However, the combat in the Lords of Shadow is very close to God of War, and many would considered LoS a GoW clone. But, consider that Lament of Innocence released before God of War, and when I look at Gabriel's combat animation I can see both Kratos and Leon's animations as well. I just hope that we can get a new castlevania game from IGA soon. |

Fishergirl7 : I'm also a big fan of Mass Effect. Just the world building and the mass effect fields were great. Sure some aliens are kind of silly, like the 100% fanservice Asari, but its a alternate universe I would love to see more games based in. I am old-school though, I thought the heavier RPG elements of ME1 were really good (despite the clunky combat) and didn't quite like the move to shooter central in ME2 and ME3. Zelda also ranks high with me. And Final Fantasy, though that has waned in recent years. And if they make more games around Rolling Thunder, I will play those. And Shinobi. Good times!
