So, many people know of and use Adblock or some similar software. Let me be blunt: Don't use it on Vizzed. Why? It's quite simple. Vizzed makes most of it's money from ads, which you are denying by using Adblock. Adblock doesn't just hide ads, it stops ads from popping up. So, in case I'm not being clear, Vizzed would make a lot more money if people would stop denying it's main source of income.

Now, Adblock itself isn't necessarily bad. In fact, I have it and use it. There's an easy way to solve this issue though, so I'll explain that quick.

Since you're reading this page, you're on Vizzed. Go to adblock's settings (chrome users, here's a link: Link), then hit customize. Your end goal is to add the domain "vizzed.com" to the "Show ads on a webpage or domain" option. Once you do that, the adblock symbol in the top right of your browser should be a green 'thumbs-up' symbol. Thanks!

I dunno if it's different for other browsers. If other browsers are different, I'd love it if another user could post a guide for that browser(s).

I agree too, the ads here are not annoying like other websites. So, turning it off for Vizzed won't give you any problems. The last thing we want is for Vizzed to run out of money and get shut down, or force up to pay for Vizzed to use it! D:

Normally I do use adblocker on every site including Vizzed, but I haven't found out about the ads helping out the site more than hurting the site, because now I know having users get ads on the site will give David more money so the site can keep on running smoothly, so that is why Vizzed is the only site I have adblocker turned off, so that way it'll help David out, although the main reason I use adbocked is because of those inappropriate ads, but that's mostly it though, and the ads are getting more family-friendly on here which is a good thing and I like it that way.

Although I won't be clicking those ads because they all don't interest me.

Oh my goodness yes! I was thinking of making a thread like this the other day. Adblock needs to be shut off or something. I just ignore ads mainly. But I might click a bunch of them one of these days just to earn Vizzed some extra money. But they still don't interest me one bit. lol

A user of this : I like Adblock for lots of sites though, where I don't want ads. Adblock is good, but not when used on Vizzed.

Yeah, I must agree with everyone in disliking ads. Never want them on any site...they are a disturbance (especially when ya need to think). 

Anyway, I have (guiltily) been using Adblocker Plus. I heard that ads did in fact help David out, but I was not completely sure, but now I am.

I personally don't care much for mature ads. Not that I like them, but I don't give much notice to ads, and on this site, I am not going to be on one page the whole time, being forced to familiarize myself with that ad. There are games and sites with ads right next to the game, and that's usually the only time I notice the ads.  

I never click ads...scammers! Jk. But I know there are a lot of ways for hackers and scammers to reach people, so I'd stay away from clicking foreign things. Link in your email? Go to the site directly instead...scammers can forge "official" copies of that email, and the link could be for something bad. Quick tip of the day.

The ads on vizzed are not obstructive at all in browsing the RGR or Boards if you are logged in; if you are browsing as a guest then they can be annoying. Besides using Adblock you can also click the icon in the top-right corner of most ads to go to the site handling the ads and you'll have an option to opt out of their "remembering which sites you visit", or "displaying ads relevant to you".

mrfe : Well, I don't exactly have a choice when it comes to Vizzed, this computer is too slow all the time and ads (Especially the ones that move like that "Tire out your games, not your phone" one.) just make it run at a extremely slow rate that I just can't handle dealing with until I get this computer running faster. On the other hand I could see why having the ads are so important and if my computer could handle Vizzed while dealing with the ads I would of course keep ad blocker off but that's not the case ultimately.

So for now I'm going to go ahead and keep ad block on for the sake of keeping my computer fast enough to do my job properly.

There are sites other than vizzed that need ads to make money. I don't really think vizzed should be an exception. I think everyone should either have every website blocked or none. Unless you are sure the website makes enough money without ads.
I have adblock, but for some reason it doesn't block vizzed's ads. It's been acting funny lately, but i've never had a chance to fix it.

well thanks to you for telling me how it works, i finally got adblock now that i know i can disable it for vizzed. I was so sick of watching my favorite youtube videos and having to pause every minute because an ad starts playing

I have Adblock Plus for my web browser, but I usually keep it disabled unless I feel that the advertisements are being too obtrusive --like how ads on Twitch.tv will cut off your video streaming. However, I still use a different addon with similar effects even when not using ABP.

Ghostery does a great job of telling me who is trying to track me. With their addon, I can choose who to allow and who to block. This is very helpful as I can keep it running, and still allow some ads through on sites like Vizzed. It is a win-win in my opinion.

AuraBlaze : Oh, is that another Chrome add-on? I'll have to look into it. I agree regarding ads on Twitch, those are annoying lol.

mrfe : Be advised, if you really want to give everyone a chance like I do, prepare to go running through well over 1,000 different pieces --and still climbing with each update. It will block wigdets as well, so be aware that you might need to go searching through the list of blocked things to find the one that provides the video or comment system on a website.
