Okay, Let me start off with this, I do serious boxing in my school, I don't mean some kids swinging lightly at each other, I mean boxing... I've had my share of accidents over the year, From bikes, falling, a wall falling on me (yeah, literally) and more stuff you might not believe like punching a deer in the face on thanksgiving last year, But back on track... If you know what a rotor cuff is then I don't need to explain it and  you can skip the next paragraph.

(A rotor cuff is the four muscles surrounding your shoulder keeping it in place.)

I completely severed one muscle on each side of my body allowing my shoulder to pop in and out of place if it moves the wrong way, And if you have any smarts what so ever you'll be able to piece together that this means I won't be able to continue my dream of boxing no matter how much I build my other muscles, There will always be a loose spot, So... I'm kind of depressed now, I've just had every dream of going big crushed in a heat beat. Life is cruel sometimes...

A fighter has been denied his fighting chance, So... I don't what to do, I feel horrible, on the bright side I have my life, But it'll never be the same, So.. I guess I'm kinda lost right now, I've got nothing to go on, I'll never be the same physically, I may have a built body, But two of the most important muscles on a fighters body are completely destroyed... I've gone from having my goals in reach to having them permanently pulled away.

So I have this to say, I've been saying this in almost every post lately, But you know what... You've gotta enjoy every second of your life, Because no matter how much you think you have, It could be over in an hour, It could be 78 years, Who knows? I don't, But one thing is certain through it all, Life is temporary, So maybe my loss can serve as a reminder here, everyone has a weakness, That's what makes you human, it's how you act that makes you, remember that.

Every single action that goes by makes a person who they are, That's just a fact of life no matter how you look at it, Life can be cruel. But it's still life, Embrace it.

Frodlex : You know what... Do you think you can transition over to MMA, or something of that style? You have to use your legs and what not, and having a shoulder like that that is basically like it's double jointed ( if I am understanding correctly ), that could come to an advantage, right?

Frodlex I'm so sorry to hear about that....you really shouldn't be kicking yourself and being depressed. Life is what you make of it and...don't ever give up on your dream ok? Dreams is what makes us push to what we want to be in life. Don't ever give up, boxing will take you sometime to do don't ever be in defeat. Recover what you can on your body and try again that's what you do push harder for your dreams and that's how we make it a reality. I don't know how long your recovery might be when you have, try again keep having your goals with you its not the end no I mean its never the end I give my hope to you for you to recover remember never give up.

Wow I bet that hurt when your shoulders popped in and out the wrong way. I'm sure it's going to be hard finding a new hobby that you will enjoy. The only other thing I can say is good luck!

Ok so what I have to say is...
No... stop.... think..... You say that your hopes and dreams are crushed?

List of people who have made it!
Albert Einstein
wasn't able to speak until he was 4 years old in which his teachers assumed he wouldn't amount to much.
Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team in which he locked himself away and cried.
Walt Disney was fired from a newspaper company for lacking imagination and having no original ideas
Steve Jobs was left devastated and depressed after being unceremoniously removed from the company he started at 30 years old.
Oprah Winfrey was demoted from her job as news anchor because she "wasn't fit for television"
The Beatles were rejected by Decca Recording Studios, who said "We don't like their sound- they have no future in show business."
Ludwig van Beethoven  composed many famous symphonies. But he composed 5 of them while COMPLETELY DEAF.
Stan Smith was rejected from being a ball boy for a Davis Cup tennis match because event organizers felt he was too clumsy and uncoordinated. He then won the Wimbledon, U. S. Open and EIGHT Davis Cups.
Buddy Winnett is a horse jockey and trainer. He was diagnosed with SPINA BIFIDA and wasn't expected to live past age 6. An accident at age 12 took one of his eyes and made him LEGALLY BLIND. He THOUGHT all of his dreams were taken from him, joining the army  or playing sports.
Jean Driscoll was born with SPINA BIFIDA but is a WORLD RENOWNED ATHLETE.
Steven George Gerrard has CLUB FOOT but is regarded as one of the GREATEST English footballers ever.
Jim Mecir was born with TWO CLUB FEET. Even with surgery that enabled him to walk, he could not push off the rubber base plate with his right foot. This made him develop a violent screwball. He has a 11 year career over five teams, was the last pitcher to regularly pitch a screwball, and received the Tony Conigliaro Award.
Kristi Yamaguchi is the 1992 Olympic Champion figure skater in women's singles, World Figure Skating Championships 1991 1992, U. S. Figure Skating Championships 1992, two national titles 1989 1990, Junior world title 1988, and was inducted into the U. S. Olympic Hall of Fame. She accomplished all this after being born with CLUB FEET.
Tom Whittaker is the first disabled person to climb to the summit of Mount Everest. His right foot was lost following a car accident. He as a prosthetic foot and is working on climbing to the highest peaks on all seven continents.
Aimee Mullins was born with fibular hemimelia which caused her to have to have both of her legs amputated below the knee. She competed against able bodied athletes in NCAA Division 1 track and field events and set Paralympic records in 1996 Atlanta in the 100 meter dash and long jump.
Muhammad Ali is one of America's favorite boxers of all times. He did everything he did in his life time knowing he had Parkinson's disease. But that didn't stop him from accomplishing what he did while he could.
Frederick "Freddie" Roach currently suffers from Parkinson's disease. He controls the disease through medication, injections and his training of boxers. His active in-ring routines with his fighters and tremendous hand-eye coordination that he has to exhibit has made it possible to slow the progress of the incurable disease. He was a former professional boxer as well.
Lou Gehrig passed away due to  Lou Gehrig's Disease at the age of 38. Not before setting several Major League records and becoming known as "the Iron Horse" for his durability. His record for most career grand slam home runs (23) still stands today.
Joe Frazier boxer with a  blind eye.
Marco Antonio Barerra boxer with brain injury
Edwin Valero boxer with brain injury
Craig Bodzianowski boxer with one leg
Michael Olajide boxer with one legally blind eye
Terry March boxer with a career while suffering from epilepsy
Dodie Boy Penalosa boxer who won a world title while suffering with Polio
Poochia boxer with speech impediment
Eugene Hairston deaf boxer

I could go on and on.
oh and there is me... camkunimura inspired musician who tried to commit suicide multiple times because he was confused about being gay and suffered from bipolar disorder, depression, mania, and possible schizophrenia. Also has paranoia. Was admitted to a Mental Hospital twice in a 3-4 year period. He also believes he is not a good enough musician to make it professional in the world Though he still has this dream of becoming one. He was first chair in middle school top band, first chair in High school beginning band and made it into the top orchestra in freshman year. Many other accomplishments followed all while the suicide attempts and being in the mental hospital were taking place. This did NOT STOP HIM FROM BECOMING WHO HE IS TODAY. AND INSPIRED MUSICIAN WHO IS PUSHING OTHERS TO FOLLOW THEIR DREAMS AS WELL  FOR HE HAS OVERCOME ADVERSITY AND SO SHALL YOU!

You.... will ... not .... give.... up...

Ok so what I have to say is...
No... stop.... think..... You say that your hopes and dreams are crushed?

*sigh* Long list of responds to go through today, I put it off a little cause I've had a hard time coping even after reading all these replies, But I'm gonna start responding to them now that I finally figured out to summon.

hunter31626 : Yeah Surgery is possible but they'll never be as good as new making any chance of going pro a little more difficult to achieve, And I'm sorry to hear about your dream of becoming an astronomer, I would say more but I have enough to say already and I don't want it to look like I'm partticapating in the TDV.

thing1 : Not exactly, I still need my shoulders for MMA. Just because it features more kicks doesn't mean I don't still need my arms.

Eniitan : Thanks, This is one of the few posts that really helped me through this so far, And I have more to say but I can't find the words to actually say any except for thank you.

PacmanandMariofan : Yeah, If you've ever had a broken bone, Imagine that pain on an almost daily basis whenever I move the wrong way, That's what I go through.

supercool22 : It happens, Life is life, You can let it stop you or you can keep going at full steam.

camkunimura : Long read, but that's not exactly a bad thing, This was simply the most helpful and inspiring post in this thread, I can't exactly explain my appreciation to your reply, .And you know what, I won't give up, I can't... It's not who I am, It's not what my mind and body'll let me do.

dennyjr22: No, I know my limits well, I always have.

UFC : I may have other avenues I can explore... Without a doubt I have a lot, I'm a smart person and gifted physically as well, But a lot of is about what I want to do rather than what I can do, You get what I mean?

I have a few thoughts on this topic:

1. Boxing in school and boxing in reality are two different matters. Have you actually been trained by a certified trainer? One who teaches at a boxing gym of some type? Or is it a matter of you and some kids looking at youtube videos and throwing punches because it's fun? It's important to recognize the difference. You might have raw talent, but raw talent that hasn't been refined can only take you so far.

2. Did you tear your rotator cuff boxing? Getting a trainer might help you prevent something like that from happening again, as they will teach you stretches and other techniques that strengthens you and protects you from those nasty injury-types.

3. Obviously surgery is possible, but you do know that you can come out just as good, if not better, if you stick with it and listen to the people who know what they're talking about. Rehab is important, and it sounds like you need some vital rehabilitation for your shoulder if you want to continue pursuing this.

4. If you really want this and are willing to stop moping (sorry) about the problem, then you need to talk to some health professionals and take the necessary steps to get you back in place. Also, understand that as a fighter, this is an opportunity to fight for your dreams. It's a large problem that's going to take an even larger solution, but if it is what you really want to do, then you won't be denied. Think about Adrien Peterson for the Minnesota Vikings, coming back from an ACL injury to almost break the NFL's single season rushing record. Or Peyton Manning, who everyone said should retired, who got cut from the team that he built (the Colts), only to produce one of the best seasons on record.

The thing is that you have to be smart about it and not casually throw your fists at kids in school or deer anywhere. Boxing is a sport, and to be a professional you have to be trained. You have to know that these boxers aren't just running around on the street fighting people, they're in their gyms with their trainers drilling and sweating and working hard to get better. They face injuries just like you have, but they don't give up. What are you going to do?

Or Peyton Manning, who everyone said should retired, who got cut from the team that he built (the Colts), only to produce one of the best seasons on record.

pray75 : Yeah, I get what you mean Completely, I have talked to health professionals already, and I've also been trained by my schools boxing gym which is lead by certified trainer. As well as someone who is might not be certified to train but does amazingly in a ring even after not working out for 20 years. I can tell you a run-through of a story he told me if you like, But I also don't go randomly hitting people or things for no good reason, I participate in the sport not just random street fights, Although I'm confident in my abilities in a street fight as well.

Alright, about this story it's a little more than what should go on a thread like this so if you wanna know anymore about this just pm me. But my second trainer was a semi-pro MMA fighter who has trained with people who participated in UFC while never entering himself.

Frodlex : Well, yes... I know you still need your arms for MMA. The Army's hand to hand combative style is kinda like MMA, so we still need our arms. My question is would it be possible for you to trade over to MMA since Boxing is pretty much out of the question.

thing1 : Possibly, Quite possibly... I don't know that I will though, I already know a bit of MMA too, But I know more about boxing than MMA so it's kinda like switching from my home language, English... To a new language that I know a bit of.... Like let's say... Japanese?

Frodlex : Is it really that complicated? I mean, I am just asking, because boxing and MMA are not my forte. Racing and FPS games are mine, and that was a hard transition to get used to.

I'm glad you found my post inspirational. I did see your signature underneath you post  so I know you keep swinging when times get hard. I also meant to put in the post that even when you do fail, pertaining to the other posts in this post, there are other dreams that can be fulfilled in the process of getting back on your feet I mean like no one only has one dream lol. But your doing good. Your doing good so far.

Frodlex : yeah i get you man I hear ya it's a tough one, but listen don't go to MMA because it will only get worse for your injury because your still punching anyways and you need shoulder strength for the wrestling and takedowns and finally if someone gets you in a kimura or key lock your shoulder will be destroyed.

UFC : I know, I've been trained in MMA too, I would be thrown way worse off course than I would in a no grapple boxing match, It's really kinda annoying, But it happens. What can you do? (That's not meant to be answered.)

Don't give up on boxing man!
Keep on boxing and do not quit it!
All you have to do is wait for your arm to become better.
I try and box but I do not over do it.
So yeah, just don't pull too much muscles.
