What is the greatest moment of any retro video game? Record yourself playing through that moment using the RGR Plugin. Be sure to give your submission a title, upload it to the vizzed youtube account and add it to the game's page. Also be sure to post a link to it in this thread.

Once the competition is over (which will be March 29th), staff will vote on the best submissions. Tie breakers will be determined by whichever video has the most views.


MEGA Competition:
This is going to be classified as a Mega competition because not only do 5 people get prizes but there's also cash prizes. If this is a success, I might do 1 Mega competition each month.


Rules:
-You can submit up to 5 videos
-Only videos uploaded after 3/1/2013 count
-Competition ends March 29th
-Be sure to let me know in this thread which videos you've uploaded
-Videos should be at least 15 seconds
-Your videos must be uploaded to the vizzed youtube account
-You must record your videos with the RGR Plugin
-You must add your video to the game's page (which should happen automatically when you upload your video to the vizzed youtube account)
-Staff is ineligible for the cash prizes but can still win 1st and 2nd and get the Viz prize
-You can record video using GB/GBC/GBA games without using mednafen by pressing F8 but the videos can't be longer than 1 minute; if you need to do a video longer than 1 minute on those systems, be sure to play the games using Mednafen (link at top left of play window)
-You can only use an external recording program for N64 and Sega CD games since they don't support video recording but the quality must be good and must still take a screenshot with the plugin of the moment as a way to verify the video was taken by you
-You can do the same game as someone else but you can't do the same moment as someone else
-You must also take a screenshot at some point during your video recording as proof that you took the video


Prizes:
1st = US $50 or 50,000 Viz
2nd = US $25 or 25,000 Viz
3rd = 10,000 Viz
4th = 5,000 Viz
5th = 2,500 Viz


BONUS: I'm planning on making a youtube video for vizzed, if I like your clip and use your clip for my video, you'll get 1000 Viz. If I pick more than 1 of your videos, I'll give you 1000 Viz per a video I use. Even if you win one of the other prizes, I'll still give you an additional 1000 Viz.


Cash Prizes:
The cash Prizes can be paid out in a few ways. I can purchase a membership on a website for you somewhere, I can order something for you off of amazon, I can send you the money via Paypal, I can buy you Microsoft Points, Nintendo Points or Playstation Points and send you the code, I can buy you an Amazon gift card and send you the code, etc.

I'm so stunned.  XD  This is absolutely amazing, David!  This is a precedent that I think will draw many players in.  I bet we'll be swamped with submissions.  Too bad I'm not all that familiar with retro games.  LOL  Great idea!  (But then again, I always have said that you're a marketing genius!   )

EDIT:  Oh, and your layout still has hat-wearing A's on either side.  And the other weird symbols are still there as well. You can see an example in some Pokemon threads, and in the lower left hand corner of the site.

I would love to join in but David, may I ask, how come you starting the contest that included a money out of your pocket? Why not use the money for the update rather than uses it in contest as prize?

Vizzed Ghostblood : This does help out vizzed in a few ways:
1. The videos are getting uploaded to vizzed youtube which helps draw in traffic to the youtube account which ultimately draws in traffic to vizzed.
2. These videos are getting added to vizzed.com so it gives vizzed more content.
3. Since I plan to make videos for vizzed, this can potentially save me time. Since I need great gaming clips for my video, this will make it so that I don't have to go through all the time to record the videos myself.

I'm hoping that offering a cash prize will greatly increase the amount of participation and videos submitted. If this contest turns out to be a failure, I just wont do a cash prize contest again.

earthwarrior : Well a "great moment" usually isn't that long, I don't see a moment being longer than 2 minutes. A great moment could be Mario saving the Princess on Super Mario Bros (only a 15 second scene).

I'm very pleased to see some submissions already, this competition has already passed the last video competition.

Itachi9695 : Funny moments don't really count unless others would agree that the funny moment would be considered a great moment. Remember that the staff will be rating the videos based on which moment they think is the greatest.

Darkpower508 : I suppose you can do voice overs but moments usually should be great enough to not need a narrator. I wouldn't be able to use your video for my project if you did a voice over though keep in mind.

gfool3.14 : You can do any moment that you consider to be great.

Ok I am some what new to this site, and I have never done this before. I joined because of all the amazing games that this site has, and they are F2P which makes it even better. I would like to join this competition but I'm not entirely sure how to video record, or if I will do it right. I also don't know how to screen shot. Also what type of things are you looking for? Any moment in gaming or something epic that we would never do again in our life? And what about the games, is it any game on the site or a specific set of games? Am I allowed to play these games on my home console because I a device that allows me to record games on any console, and can I put glitches in there? I know many glitches in games and they are mostly all EPIC in proportion. I would like to know before I post any videos

ZeroKashalot : If I may answer your questions,  what you need to do to record is there will be a hyperlink titled 'Play using Mednafen', which will enable you to record gameplay. Make sure you have something you have an application called "Freemake Video Converter" to convert the file to a video format as it most likely wil come out at first as music. Be expected to take multiple shots at recording as the first file might not work out. As for screenshots, utilizing the RGR Plugin(which is mandatory for the contest), you should be able take a screenshot by pressing F6. For this contest, you can choose any moment which you feel is the greatest, that can't be topped by any other, provided it by about 2 minutes or less and will work for any game you think of. The contest rules state only the RGR plugin can be uses so sorry, no home console for this one, but glitches might be okay(probably best to ask the big honcho a.k.a. Davideo7 on this one). Hopefully this answers your questions amigo.

I recorded a 1:54 minute video of Pokémon 3 in 1. (the hack that I made) It's really hard to catch Charmander and in this video I caught him. This is a very great moment.

Might be a bit of a silly question, but are we allowed to do endings? Also, what's the maximum length we can make the video on, and what's the preferred length?

Darkpower508 : You can do endings.

There's no maximum length but if it's too long than the staff might not watch it all and therefore wouldn't vote on it. The preferred length would probably be between 30 and 60 seconds. I would definitely try to keep it under 2 minutes.
