kingvictory : haha what is our "View" of having the flu? It sucks. I doubt you will get a different reaction from anyone.

Honestly the best thing to do anytime you are sick is to get rest, and drink lots of clear fluids. Water is best with this because it helps you flush out all the "bad stuff"

Also if needed you can take some asprin/tylenol/whatever to help break your fever if you have one.

Feel better!

I hate being sick, but unfortunately, unless it's super serious, I usually have to work anyway. That's the crappy part about being an adult, lol. You don't get to stay home and watch cartoons when you're sick anymore.

I've had the flu and its not fun. Here are some tips I used when I had it (I didn't have medicine to take by the way so I had the full on symptoms 24/7)

- Drink Water mostly. If you can handle ginger ale, milk, gatorade, soda; then you can drink it, but don't drink too much as it could agravate your symptoms.

- Know what your body can eat. If your vomiting up food, then don't eat that food. Crackers, Pudding, Yogert, or anything similar I found worked for me.

- Get a good amount of rest. Don't push your body as your body is trying to fight the food bug.

- Avoid outside stress. Your going to be under stress as the symptoms are going to make you feel terrible. so just relax.

- Keep yourself entertained. Watch TV, play video games, read a book. Pretty much take your focus off the sickness and time should fly. When time flys, you'll notice that the sickness is going away faster.

Good luck and hope you get better soon.

Having the flue really sucks, it is worse than a cold. I was at my peak Christmas, and I was in bed most of the day. Some tips are just common tips, such as drinking fluids, I was drinking hot cider a hot tea allot, helped with my sore throat. Another thing is just rest/ an go to bed early, for me I am a night owl( going to bed around 2-230 in the morning) but I was felling so lousy that I went to be at 930. And one more thing is to slowly go back to your regular routine, you can get sick again if you overdue it, that was what happened to me. I hope you feel better soon.

The ups and downs of having the flu, el oh el.

It's mostly a huge downhill ride. It's not like other sicknesses where you can sit around and eat snacks and ice cream all day and have people feel sorry for you. Anything anyone gave you to make you feel better would just be barfed back up, so that's no fun. There is literally nothing good about the flu. Some people would argue that not having to go to work/school is an up of the flu, but I'd rather go to just about any damn place than have the flu. I can think of very few things worse that can happen to you physically that doesn't involve surgery or something being wrong with your organs.

Flu season is awful. Hit up CVS and get a flu shot. I haven't gotten the flu in like 4 years.

haitamchouiekh : I'd thank you to not make a post that spammy, dumb, or vulgur in the future. It's completely unnecessary and that sort of thing does get noticed and punished if it becomes a habit.

As long as it is not the stomach flu, it is not something that bothers me too much. I recall one time having the flu and actually liking how relaxed it made me feel. It had felt like I had never been so relaxed in my life! I realize that it meant my fever was probably on the high side, but the only bad feelings I had was some lethargy and aches. There was no associated sneezing or stuffiness.

A few months ago, I had thought I had the flu, but ended up have three infections (nose, ears, throat). THAT was not fun, especially as I had to go to the doctor's, costing me a lot of money (no insurance yet, it's still going through a bunch of paperwork hoops). My work does not excuse having a fever and requires going to a doctor to be excused from work. Irks me terribly, though I see their side on it. Being sick was absolutely more fun when I was in school... or even at my old job, haha.

What I usually do for the flu is drink a lot of juice, or water if my stomach is not feeling too good, and make sure to eat enough to give me some energy. I remember when I was younger, I would be given only a little it of food, but I personally think that actually made me weaker. Eating NORMAL food (not junk or anything too heavy) has always helped me recover a bit better. The appetite might not be completely there, but if you can eat a fair amount, it usually helps your body work better.

Of course, I am not a health professional, could be just what works for me!
