Then let's say Destifen took a guess and then I took a guess... and then nothing else happens. Well, we still need another guesser before mrfe can even let us know the results under muffin's new rule... but if you don't have a problem with it, what if there are no new guesses after 24 hours, the puzzle-creator is allowed to at least say if the letters were right/wrong as one last-ditch poke of interest.

To try and visually map it out:

mrfe - puzzle
Destifen - guess
Crazy Li - guess
24 hours pass - nothing
mrfe - reveals results of 2 guess

Now it's still only been TWO posts since Destifen's guess and only one since mine in this scenario so neither of us can guess again even in this situation. That should still cut down on sandwiching. The idea is that maybe seeing more letters revealed might spark someone else to jump in and guess a letter, allowing the game to continue. And if no one still does, we can consider interest not strong enough to keep this game alive.

Does that make any sense and/or sounds like a good plan?

You only have to look at the movie hangman thread to see how easy it is to kill a thread
Or the what movie/game/Pokémon am I and the ABC threads
