This month's Speed Run competition is for 'Super Mario Bros' for the Nintendo. You can play it here:

This competition is a new type of competition that started last month which is dedicated to speed runs. This is the only the 2nd game that currently supports speed runs but more games will support it soon.

RULES: You MUST play the game using the RGR Plugin in 'Timetrial Mode' and take a screenshot of the ending screen by pressing F6 when you've completed the game. To play in 'Timetrial Mode', scroll down the page where it shows the Speed Runs, you'll see a link that says 'Click Here to Compete for Speed Run', click that. Once you've taken your screenshot, click the link near that one that says 'Click Here to Submit your Speed Run' to submit your speed run.


TIP: All warps are allowed.

madison : I think the fastest I've beat the game was around 5 minutes and 30 seconds. It's been a while since I've done speed runs on that game so I might be rusty now but if I find time this month, I'll definitely dust off my skills and try to take 1st in this competition.

Sea_Food : It does not restart with a game over, but you do not have to close and open the emulator to reset the timer. Simply hitting the reset button under your game screen will reset the game as well as the timer.

Davideo7 : I have looked about this a lot, and World -1 is famous for being a big secret, and that when you enter the pipe, it takes you back to the starting point so isn't completable. In the FDS version though, you can actually complete the game in the Minus World. -1 on the FDS is the underwater 1-3 level with headless bowsers and a few princesses. World -2, I don't know what it is like, and World -3 is the underground version of World 3-4 or World 4-4 with bloopers in the air (I think that is the correct world.) I don't know what World -2 is, I will check it on a video to see what it is like.
