Since the pages are currently taking a little longer to respond, I've added a few small updates to help reduce the amount of pages you need to view in order to navigate the site:

On the forum pages, you can jump directly to the reply page to each thread

On the Private Messages page, you can jump directly to the reply page to each pm
Also on the reply to pm page, you can now mark the message as unread from that page


If anyone has any other ideas for quicker navigation, please let me know and if it's simple enough to implement, I'll do it.

Also, could you make it so you can see which forums you've posted in? Then you won't have to check twice if you've answered a question or not.

Oh yes, I've been wanting something like this for a while. A majority of the forums I go to have a set up like that, and I like reading threads via newreply.php anyways.

I like it. The only thing that could be modified is that threads that are closed do not have the "reply" button, might confuse some members(unless of course you did that intentionally).

I can't think of anything else atm, but I think it is great to have this.

Since you've been a member. So if you're looking around at Polls and Questions, for example, you'll know where you've posted in and not spend an extra minute seeing you've already been there and have to go back.

Davideo7 : Kind of, except that you'll know specifically what threads you've posted in and you can see it right on the forum page. So if I went back to "News and Updates," there could be a symbol or something next to the name of this thread saying that I posted here already.

The reply button for closed threads needs fixing, I dont like how it has the error message and then redirects you to the first post of the thread.

You could also use better navigation on the forums, threads, and reply pages near the bottom by implementing text links to other forums on site. On the reply page you should have it show either 10 last threads in the forum or 10 last posts you made or something along those lines, maybe both.

Oh I almost forgot, notifications are getting rather annoying at times. You should also implement a thread/post notification box on the reply page showing your latest unread thread notifications. You might also want to consider making the reply buttons as new windows so people dont have to constantly click the back button if they dont want to reply.

Love it. I am glad that you added these two things because I was always wondering why they were not here in the first place. I hope that the speed can pick up soon because I am very impatient and it does not help when I am trying to post.

is there any way to not list the chat room on every page?

I find that there is a noticeable lag when it tries to load the number of users in the chat room. I think getting rid of that would speed things up a lot.

I think JigSaw's idea of new windows would be great if there was like a choice in "Edit Profile and Settings" that when turned on, would make the replies open up automatically in new windows.

It's not completely necessary though, since it is simple just to backclick and open in new tab.

Hey bro this is actually an improvement regardless, lol. I think the reply feature is awesome bro - it makes the the reply function a lot quicker in various aspects. It's a good deal that you implemented that.

It currently shows if you've read a thread and if it had posts since you last read it but it doesn't show which threads you've posted in on the forum pages, only from the page found from your profile.  That's something I could probably do in the future.  For now, you'll just have to rely on your memory lol.

JigSaw : I can fix that...done.  I don't know if I want to overwhelm every page with to much stuff though, the forum pages at the bottom do let you jump to other forums already.  And the thread pages do have a link to the previous thread or next thread of that forum (but I don't think anyone uses it).  But I could do a drop down with all 50 newest threads of a forum on each thread page at the bottom, similar to the one on forum pages at the bottom.

geeogree : I could just make it so that it doesn't show how many people are in the chat room, that would fix that problem.

that might be for the best.... it might even be for the best if people don't know. Instead of seeing there are 3 people they will just go log-in to check and maybe be more likely to stick around since they're already there.

I do notice it slows down page loading though which is my main concern.

I actually am not experiencing the loading problems everyone else is. Vizzed loads fine for me, although the reply pages are helpful as well. I greatly appreciate those.

geeogree : I notice the site feels a lot faster now after removing that.  The reason that would take a while to load is because it has to load that number from the server which the chat room is hosted on which is a server that is owned by the chat room company which means its location is far away from godaddy's location.

Normally I don't have an issue with Vizzed unless my internet isn't working. I turned off chat bar on every page but the index and that helped speed it up a little I think.
