Oh great, THIS game. First let me say, I hope you're okay, ~sakura~. I remeber hearing about this game in Nintendo Power as a child. It was crazy how excited my friends got over it. They started coming up with awsome ideas, most of which can be found in Luigi's Mansion. I thought it would be a sidescroller, like Mario. But, MAN, was I ever wrong!

--- I wanted to name this: Why wasn't this as good as the movie either? ---
This is Ghostbusters on the NES. Ghostbusters is awsome, and the NES is awsome too! This game should be great! *presses Start* Game: GHOZTBUZTAHS! Oh, how I remeber that sound. I heard it because I reset the game so many DANG TIMES!  So,  you... play as the Ghostbusters logo playing tag with ghosts. What happened to that Ecto-1 of thiers and, heck, I DON'T REMEMBER THIS. So you go around pressing everything trying to get to the building, but you need a beam. But what you also need is a trap for the ghosts. Now, you go to the shop. In there... I have to drive there. Even if I'm already there. There's the car... surrounded by a sezuire-enducing background! How joyous am I!

--- Too much stuff... not enough money... or car gas. ---
So you drive across the road, and eventually you see some drunk drivers. That's probably what the creators of this game were. DRUNK. So eventually you get to the shop. What you need is a 3 Traps, a Ghost Vaccuum, and a Ghost Beam. WHAT? You don't have enough money all of a sudden? Yeah, every time you run into the drunk drivers, you'll lose $200-$800. How mean. So, RESET! *explains whole review over again* So now that you have that, you can enter the buildings that flash red. Now, your Ecto-1 might run out of gas, so two Ghostbusters will come out and slowly push it to the gas machine. Wait, the Ecto-1 takes gas? Never mind. So, you'll come to the place where the ghost is. The Ghost Beam, 85% of the time will miss the ghosts. I thought is was better in the Atari vesion. Speaking of Atari, the graphics for this scene actually look WORSE than Atari! What else can do that? *hides Intellivision by stuffing it in a PokeBall*

                                                                              ---  The Zuul Bulding ---
Do what I said to do for about 3 more hours, then this will happen: Most likely you won't see it, but a message will appear saying "Enter Zuul buliding". That means you can now go to that Zuul building in the middle of the map. Now, you go in, and IT'S A SIDESCROLLER!!!! But wait... I have two major problems. 1.) Where's Winston? I never saw him in this game. I see Peter, Ray, and Egon, but no Winston. Think about it. There are two Ghostbusters who push the car, two who catch ghosts, and three in the buiding. No Winston! Where IS he? And 2.) How do I move? The D-pad doesn't work, but the... A button works. I have to tap the A button as fast as I can... *takes out normal controller and puts in NES Max Controller* So the ghosts are going to kill your Ghostbusters if they touch them. And you get but ONE try. And then. 3 more hours. YEAH. So, I guess maybe an Anti-Ghost Suit would be good, but it costs a whopping $20,000!!! At the final boss, it's well, Gozer. Now, if you go to far back, you see Marshmellow Man climbing up the building, which WILL KILL you. So once you beat it, you get the most meesed up ending screen EVER. With like, 10 errors, it wasn't worth the time. I'd rather have the game freeze. Actually, I'd rather not play this at all! ENOUGH WITH THIS GAME! I'll see you in my next review!

Again, I hope you're okay ~sakura~. Nobody should have to go through leukimia, or any kind of cancer.

Ghostbusters was one of the worst planned games I've seen too, its in the category with ET and Dr. Jeckel and Mr. Hyde category. There is too much to do in the game imo.

I saw a video review of this game like two years ago, and I remembered how bad it looked and sounded, because the Ghost Buster's theme apparently plays throughout the -entire- game if I remember correctly.

The reviewer didn't even explain half of the game it would seem. A lot of stuff I didn't know about even though I watched said review video. Of course, that doesn't change my opinion that the game was complete crap.

totaldramaman2 :

This may be off topic, but you should do a review of the Megaman for the gameboy. (I think it was ironically titled "Megaman 7" or "Megaman 8"

Classic Megaman on the Gameboy, what could possibly go wro-- oooh... OOH.....

Back on topic though; I'm curious, since your friends were excited about "GHOSTBUSTAZZ", what was their initial reaction to this... thing?

Also how much did it cost?

Vincent Swiftstrike : Mega Man on Game Boy? I will consider it. My friends... they were STEAMED at this game. We actually started working on a guide how to beat this game, something like what we saw for Super Mario Bros. 2 in Issue 1. We tried drawing the pictures and stuff, but there's only like 6 areas in the whole game. The map, the shop, the road, the ghost catching street, the Zuul building, and the boss fight. One of my friends actually works for Prima games now! I think it cost $50.00, at least that's what SNES games cost, I don't thonk NES was any diffrent. I think the only Nintendo home console that breaks this rule is the Nintendo 64. We saved up our allowneces for like 3 months. Oh, how I wish it was that easy to get money again...

thenumberone : The ghostbusters game you played might have either been ghostbusters 2 or New Ghostbusters, but of which were pretty fun. Though I don't know if they were Sega. I know they were on the NES (or New Ghostbusters might have been SNES). But that might be what you are thinking of.

rcarter2 : i 'think' it was like a platformer. You had to drop traps etc to catch them.at the end of each level you bought stuff from the store.this was many years ago though so its very difficult to be sure.maybe il play some soon just to try and find the right one for some good ol' nostalgia.
Its worth noting i also had a nes,so i wouldnt rule it out.

thenumberone : ... The point of this review was to make people not play the game. It's supposed to be like those books that tell you to saty away from drugs, except alot less STUPID.

I think we need to keep a list of the worst video games ever made and put Ghostbusters in the top 5. I've heard so many terrible reviews of this game.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
